I hope you work in some 6th gen Camaros because I JUST ordered a 2024 SS and NO ONE is as meticulous and detailed as you are and I want to know how to do this basic stuff right. At 46 years old, this will be my first new car EVER and its gonna get babied from day one.
Your vids are extremely helpful. I am a lady trying to learn some of the basics because I am tired of getting ripped off at the mechanic. How can you do this without having a lift? Where do you drain the oil into?
Ideally, jack stands and a floor jack. At minimum RhinoRamp MAX, though of course check if your vehicle is within the weight limit, then u can use an oil drain pan that can fit the capacity of oil that comes out of your car. Get a friend who knows what they are doing to help you out your first time. You can fuck up your car if you don't know where to put the jack stands and bend things.
Some vehicles have an oil cartridge on top under the hood. So much easier then messing around with a filter under the car. Especially if it's an SUV, you don't even need jack/Jack stands to drain the oil.
