I have been in that building many times Tim, and am very familiar with all parts of the original building, including the caretaker's flat, which was quite large at one time (big enough for a family). It also had a flagpole. it was the former Juvenile Court and Coroner's Court, with the Coroner's offices, courtroom, cells, the mortuary, storage facilities, and an area for the deceased to be identified. It was owned by Sheffield City Council, who preferred to leave it empty, for the most part. It's a real shame, as it's an interesting, historic building, and was still in reasonable condition, the last time I looked, though I imagine many of the historic internal features were lost long ago. The trams went down Nursery Street, so it was thriving at one time, as was The Wicker, of course. The church is attractive, I've never been inside, but I know the mill well, as I did a course there too. I also know about the history of the mill. The pub was originally called The Manchester Arms, rather than The Harlequin - The Harlequin was a much nicer pub tucked away on one of the nearby back-streets. Shocking what is happening to Sheffield. Thanks for your efforts.
Its quite picturesque down there though i haven't ventured for forty years since i worked on Nursery Street. Once the student flats are built the face of the area will change.
Hi Tim Great video, I presume the mill is listed ? Hope so. At least they can’t build over the river . Love the ending ….over and out from, you could use that at the end of your main videos 👍gives that extra identity 🤔
Seems to me Tim these developers always find a way round things legal or otherwise it,'s like a runaway juggernaut yet again greed erases our past . Interesting video that not been around that area for yonks ,love that church 👍
Money talks Jon, the government are working for the globalists. The church will be hidden once the development goes ahead from that side. It happened to St Vincents, now totally surrounded. Best Tim
I was down this area yesterday about 11
Great building and the old church about 200 years up the road
By coincidence I was telling someone about the old Coroners Court only yesterday!

Will the Old coroner court survive Miss Havisham.
Lovely building. Nice brickwork too.
Its still a church, but about to be surrounded by High rises like all they have done to St Vitners church.

Morning Richard, listed doesn't protect a building in Sheffield if there is enough money offered. Over and out from the City of sanctuary.
@@timawells not what I wanted to here red leader 🫣

The church might be in the way and get taken over by the university. This building is not listed though the Old Town Hall is and still left to Rot.
