Those flats at the bottom of Duke Street were called the Embassy Court Flats. The shops underneath were a chippy, a bit further up was a post office and Audrey Kinds Wool Shop.
I’d never heard of it ! I remember on one particular day the Market had Puppies & Kittens in cages for sale. I used to long to open those cages & let them all out when I was a little kid.
The one with the woman standing in front of advertising hoarding on the stone wall, my first thought was Chesterfield Road just up from Woodbank Crescent, where the steps are ... ?
I can still remember the song! I used to go in the late 60's/early 70's, when the programme had not changed much since when my dad was a kid (eg The Three Stooges, Flash Gordan) 😁

Great video. I can even recognize some parts of the old Sheffield.
Fantastic pictures, as always. 🎉.
I grew up at Whirlowdale, our family owned steel works down on Sydney St, until Thatcher came along...I really enjoy your video's too.
I use to go to the Friday shoe market. My friend use to drag me there around 6 in the morning.
Well worth the drag around 👍

In the 1960s when we knocked on people's doors and ran off, we called it knock down ginger.
They rightly call it anti social behaviour now.
Nah: Rosie Apple.
Another great set of images. Thankyou, although I think I could have done without the outside loo shot.
Thanks David. The loo is etched on many a brain 😂
