Very smart as a travel RN. You'll save a TON of money between the room and board stipend, as well as access to showers in the hospital. Nice setup.
I’ve been searching for a travel nurse with a converted van and am so happy I came across this video. As a nurse myself, I am looking forward to travel nursing in my own converted van. Yes!!!
Get that propane tank outside girl! Not only is it illegal, but it is really dangerous to have propane tanks inside. Especially DOT tanks. Many people will say "oh, it's fine!" but it really is NOT.
With that aside, this build is awesome. You did an amazing job and I want to thank you for working in healthcare. See you out there on the road!
Safety Alert… You should have your propane in an air tight box!!!!
Propane will vent in to your van and can be DEADLY!!!
Propane is heavier than air. The box must vent out the floor of your van. This can be done with a larger size PVC pipe and caulk.
Run a 2nd PVC pipe through the floor along the outside of the box to a vent into the top of the box.
As the propane drops out the bottom of your van, the top vent replaces it with fresh air for better flow.
Make sure you don’t put the two vent pipes close together.
Put screen over the bottom of the pipes to keep out bugs.
Really like your van!
All the small van build videos that I've seen so far, they don't usually have toilet in it which, IMO, seems to a greater issue at night or during cold weather. She's done a fantastic job converting it as how she wanted it to be. It has its' own kitchen, toilet, big bed and ample space for bits & pieces. That's a brilliant build from an economic perspective too. Kudos to her.
Love this. Well done sister! So inspiring. I get the fear. I just bought the shell and start the build out next month. Hitting the road for a year-ish. You're van is inspiring and the message about not sweating the small stuff is perfect. So true. Thx for the inspo! And all the best on your adventure. And kudos for your profession. Thank you.
I love this build. I sometimes get bored of watching van builds, but this one is a beauty.
I love the tour, she has her build quite unique.
Dude she's going to be so financially set. Well done.
Im a nurse trying to do the exact same thing! So inspiring seeing people like myself who know nothing about carpentry, electrical, plumbing etc living my dream. Just have to stop making excuses and do it!
Same dude! Or will be soon… starting my ABSN nursing program in 2 weeks!
I'm about to do Travel Mental Health Technician. I will be doing van life also, while keeping hotel stipend to myself. Van will be parked in hospital parking, while at work and showers at job is plentyful.
Thanks for this inspiring video. I was feeling discouraged about my plans to build. LPN and I hate the commute during winter as well as night driving. My dad bought me a High roof Promaster van to convert to a camper, but he passed away taking all his carpentry knowledge with him. He told me to find a connection with a home depot employee and let that be my hang out till job is done. But it's hard because as a Black American, white people seem to be very short in conversation. I do not travel as a nurse. But I would like to be able to camp in the parking lot til my 3 to 4 day work shift is done. Or even at the planet fitness lot which is 5 minutes away from my job. I do plan on getting some camping trips in on my days off to begin to explore the outdoors life. I am going to do the best I can on my build. Maybe one day I will do a little travel nursing. Enjoyed your video.
My condolences, Sorry to hear that you Father passed away. He did leave you a legacy to start, because he believed enough in you to purchase the van for you!!! That was major, and is your springboard and first step!!! What you can do is start joining some of the RV and VanLife groups, and many of them will assist you in building out your Van. They usually have a barter system, so if you have skillsets or services you can provide them, they will in turn provide you with buildout help.
@@seekingtruth0018 Thanks for the heads up. I am on it now.
I used to work at a Hardware store in high school and even as an adult I feel like I can get some better help at the smaller stores than the big box stores. Granted though an Ace won't have pre-built cabinets etc. Good luck to you!!! Your Dad may have taken his knowledge when he passed away, but chances are you inherited his know-how and knack for figuring things out.
The heading says SOLO nurse, but she kept saying "we".🤔
I asked the same question and thought maybe I missed something
When you've been alone for a long period of time, you create this imaginary friend.
We is her and sunny
Yea i think she is personifying the van.. i would too!
Her and the van
I love this one but I would have a hard time not having a sink! That’s a must for me.
incredible build! im also a nurse & would love to make this happen. im a bit intimidated by the building part but the more i see others doing it the more inspired i am to try.
I never understood "running" water in a van. I've always "poured" water while camping. Love your live edge features.
Always live in your van for awhile on a cot.. you will figure out where you want everything! Plans before you get a van hardly ever work.. awesome build!!
Great video as always! I gotta give props to these solo travel nurses, you are doing heroic work out there. I hope you get compensated greatly for it. 😁
We don't
I was a travel nurse for 10 assignments and never made more than $34/h night shift emergency department critical care. A nurse I met recently worked in Brooklyn during COVID for six months (I think she said six solid months, but I can't swear it, pretty sure she said six days per week, so I assume 8 hours daily), anyway, she made over $100,000. Said she was one nurse to 14 ventilator patients. She deserved every penny.
I am also a nurse thinking of doing just this same thing! thanks for the video!
Great job! You are right , keep it simple and realize things happen no matter where you are. Enjoy the journey!
The extended counter / bench seat back is brilliant. Your van actually looks like a home. Nice build!
Seems like a well thought out build that meets your needs very nicely.
Love the stove, oven and your Barn Door Entry! The most unique Van conversion!
This build is absurdly cool. Props to her for going all out and getting a mini wood stove and kitchen backsplash
Great build ! Love the simplicity and functionality of the set up.
Me too! I love the fire place too
Really nice build. You're one of the few that has kept a thick mattress. I like that. Sleep us too important to be cheap about it.
Such a beautiful and functional build. Can't wait to see Aspen!
This is a nifty tiny home! Great use of space. Thank you for sharing this! Stay safe.
You did a wonderful job. It looks like a real home [not a van] with the wood paneling and real brick backdrop behind the wood-burning stove. Looks so cozy. I, also, love the countertops and the barn door! Yes! I don't blame you for wanting a barn door. Now, I know that the van might be too small to also include a shower, but a shower would be a must for me.
Love the wood stove/fireplace......I need one of those in my TC.
A bit quirky in a good way. Love this build and attitude. Way to go! Happy travels.
Great build!!! I am glad she actually told the viewers how much the total build costs....Kudos
This is the BEST van build I've seen so far!! Great job!!!
that fireplace looks so awesome and i can imagine it's super cozy this time of year :)
Omg 😲I'm absolutely in love with this build 😍💖
Yesterday May 6 was National Nurses Day. Hugzzz to all from another RN. You are the best .❤
I am happy you are so open minded and disclosed the how you spend, it is encouraging.
Excellent set you are very detailed oriented. 👍 .
What an awesome Van build, I absolutely love it!
That’s so cool. Love the design, the barn door and the stove. GREAT Job! Thank you for sharing.
Ohh nice! Looks cozy and comfy.
You explained it very well.
I relate to your comment, harder not to do it than to do it! I am a PA and in the process of doing the same thing. Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement of your video!!!
This is my plan I’m starting nursing school next year Thank you for the video
I really want one exactly like this.
Beautiful!! Lots of extra nice touches!!
Good inspiration for van builds. Really

Red Rocks! I'm a Colorado native and that is in my top 5 favorite places in the world world. It occurred to me that I'm getting too old for tent camping and have been looking into camper conversions. Yours is awesome. 👍
Love the setup of this van.. well thought out, simple but yet comfortable 👍
I like it so much and I like her reflection at the end. Thank you for sharing.
So inspirational I am so ready for this lifestyle!
yes definitelly totally worth it!!! Love your wood stove!
Her attitude is great. Great build and suggestions.
Awesome job! Super stealth with all the comfort of a larger rig.
They have a beautiful van there. I love it! Thanks for sharing! 👍 😃
You just gave me a great idea on what I'm going to do with sliding like your blue on. Thanks
That is such an awesome build. I’m confused, she is solo, as a travel nurse? Yet she keeps saying we this, we that…
I think she's talking about herself and the van, but I'm not sure.
"For dishes we have dish buckets that we use" - this struck me as odd for a solo traveller to say. I often suspect the labelling of some of these videos as 'Solo Female' is a little click-baity, which is a shame. Takes away from the real purpose of the video, and can be misleading for those wanting to replicate the ideas for their own solo travel.
Extremely well thought out space!
This is amazing so good 😊
This is the coolest!! I especially appreciate the mold-free design
Love your home! I live in Denver too!
I’ve heard your wood stove gets hot enough to crack those door-windows when it’s freezing outside, how do you manage when it’s snowing? Lovely, clean look, your life sounds really fun.
Very nice setup for tiny van home. You did 1 awesome job. 👌
Wow, this van gives me cabin in the woods vibes. I like it!
One of the best camper van I have seen, 👍👍. Love it. ❤
You have a fantastic outlook on vanlife. Your van is badass

Beautiful van!
This build is awesome, practical and, convenient.
Sweet! My van blew trans. Live off grid near summit county riding. Be looking for you this season to shred the hill.
I love your home! And especially the barn door. Big ups for your 'can do' and 'just do it' attitude, very inspiring and encouraging. Safe and happy travels, from New Zealand.

Looks like home to me! Lovely🤗👍
I caught the "We" at the start - Van's name is Sonny or Sunny? :) This is By Far the most interesting & ingenious builds I've seen, here on YT... Barn door, wood stove with "real" brick background, full stove ... OMG Wowy!! I could go on & on, but you get what I mean lol
Love this!
I really like the build. I had a concern but I noticed you do have a roll up insulation sheet for the back doors. Pretty sweet
Super nice van!
What a terrific young lady. Really cool van
Great Build! My wife is Nurse and has always wanted to do something like this. For now we are in the van as a family of four traveling around which is not a bad way to do it either. Great video.

The colors and material on this build are sick and this lady seems tough and cool
