This guy thought of everything in the build of his truck. His sleeping area with a separate entrance is not only efficient but a great safety feature as an emergency exit. Not having windows add to his stealth mode of living any where. I think it was a great idea when he mentioned what to keep if converting a Uhaul truck. @@DaveDrawing yeah but the wood stove he picked isn't designed for overnight heat. There are some really nice stoves that you can adjust for a good 8 hours of output. That one doesn't have enough thermal mass or the right air control to slow down the burn. Like he said, it dumps all its heat from a load of wood in an hour or so. So basically it overheats the space and then goes out. So he pretty much depends on the diesel heater 24/7 unless he is on shore power.

I love this build. It's no nonsense, practical. Also, I totally agree about stealth. One thing I like about the box setting (no windows!) is that people can't look inside or even burglar easily. It's a very important safety measure. When you sleep at night you don't need windows & in the day you're majorly living outside anyway unless real adverse weather so again, why windows? They're only a liability.

  • @ladyofthemasque

For your heatsource, consider investing in some soapstone tile or countertop remnants, something sized to fit on the top & sides of your woodstove. It will absorb the heat, then slowly release it over time, all while remaining relatively low-temperature. (Unlike the metal of the woodstove, which can & will get scorching hot.) Soapstone is dense, so weight will be a factor, but it will greatly extend your "burn time" temperatures.

I have watched your videos for years because they are entertaining and interesting. Now I have another purpose. I am considering a tiny home as a retirement option and your videos are very helpful in showing such a wide range of opportunities. You have always been very cheerful and pleasant in your videos. Thank you. Also, congratulations on your baby girl. 😊 That is such a blessing for you and your husband. 👍

The best build! Love your ideas. There were so many good ones that I lost count It’s stylish, practical, neat and organized but most of all it’s sooooo attractive! Love your bike on the wall. Love the ways your skis look on the wall. A nice Gothic allusion. Love your generous and inviting shower and bathroom with the bidet. So practical and over the top nice. Your bed system is awesome and inviting. Live the steel baskets on the wall as candle holders, etc. Such a welcoming, I call it “cozy industrial”. You really fixed your self a really nice place with no cramped up, bend over type spaces. It’s great.

I was thinking the sofa was the bed, but he has a bedroom in the back! Awesome floorplan, luv the kitchen, bath and LR and shower! Yes that bathroom space is a must! I like the openness, feels bigger than many RVs.

Absolutely a great way to live. Freedom from the grind of owning real estate. I’m determined to set myself up with a similar rig, my mindset is already there and I’m very confident I can do it with my background. Being a carpenter and backyard mechanic for over 30 years, I’m so excited to see what you have accomplished!!
