2010 Dodge Journey Problems, after 74,000 Kl 1. Alternator 2. Ignition starter switch Recall 3. Breaks pads too Cheap (replaced) 4* 4. Water pump leaked 5. two struts replaced on the front 6. transmission fluid line leaked 7. Tire pressure sensor replaced (4) Endless Money Pit #ScottyKilmer (my first choice is a 2009 RAV4 V6)
This vehicle is a great price for the features, the interior is not rough and feels very solid. I bought my wife a 2009 Dodge Journey with the V6 and AWD. The vehicle drives very well and got 29 mpg from Southern Michigan to Northern Wisconsin 500+ miles on one tank of gas with 90 miles to spare. I would not recommend the chrome rims though, I opted for the aluminum because the chrome Chrysler rims have a tendency to flake.
Hi Allen! We don't currently have any video reviews of the newer Journey, but we do have a review of the 2017 model on our website: www.kbb.com/dodge/journey/2017/
I jsut got this, the AWD SXT with moon roof and backup camera + 7 inch touch screen is great priced, I recommend this to people who want higher class stuff but cheapness
My 2008 dodge journey has been in the workshop since 16-2-2011 waiting for a new gearbox its only done 29500 miles @ 20,000 miles it needed new pads & 2 new tyers.Had 3 estamated arrival times since feb on the box, still waiting its now 20-5-2011 thats 94 days since it went in.Chysler customer service have stopped ringing me now, the guy said i was getting to upset because it was the same old story [ NOT IN YET SIR] who would'nt be upset ?
I owned a 2014 journey brand new I bout it with 21 miles on it when Chrysler repurchased it it had 37 thousand 2 trips from Florida to the mountains this car was horrible it was small and cramped, I had the base model with 4c cyl it's was msrp at $21,000 it kept having issues checking light would come on, now I have a 2015 Durango limited RWD v6 love it love it love it. So much space 40% larger although it did cost me more it was msrp at $39,000 worth every penny.
I hear a lot of bad things about these crossovers. Are they really set to take the place of the Grand Caravans? I can't help but love the looks of these! I hope they make them more reliable!
I'm surprised no one mentioned the brake life issues. Average brake life is 12-20k before the brakes are metal-metal. Stay away from 2009/10 Journeys. Also the transmissions have a very high failure rate.
The Dodge Journey Crossover SUV is a good Crossover and it's alright too... But to be honest the 1 big mistake that Chrysler made is that... They should've put the battery at the left bottom behind of the front bumper. It should've been on top beside the engine instead of the bottom. It would of been much easier to take out if it was on top instead of the bottom left behind of the front bumper... That you don't have to take off the wheel off and the panel behind the bumper to make things harder for people that have the vehicle. I don't know what Chrysler was thinking to do such a foolish way to put the battery there. "Biggest Mistake Chrysler Made".
Death trap? This vehicle is one of 27 with a top safety pick from the IIHS. Toyota didn't get on that list. Chrysler/Dodge makes great affordable vehicles with impressive styling and great safety ratings. I'm sorry but in the same class look at Rav4, CRV, Escape they fall short on styling. Maybe they need to invest more in small engines but with the merge with Fiat it looks like they are working on it. All I'm saying is that ppl should give it a chance.
@AreUBlem the choice is yours but actually I think you should try the Honda Cr-v. It is a great cuv with great gas mileage, smooth but sporty ride, And highest resale value in it's class. low cost of ownership to. But if you have to choose between the rav4 and the dodge go with the rav4.
@vipermoon64 The Journey got a recent design uplift for 2011, and I don't think it's got that slanted shifter on the transmission. In addition, the current V-6 is the new Pentastar with 283-hp. Finally, I think the folks at Chrysler are putting their best feet forward.
The journey is a lemon my mom has an 09 and she had to have the engine rebuilt after 1 year then she had to have her rockerbar replaced n now her power windows locks n ignition r going out I stongly recomend that nobody should buy a journey their junk.
well, you gotta leave those people alone, when they say something that make no sense. you already know they just don't like the name. For those who has no idea, The chassis platform is the same with Mitsubishi vehicles. The 2.4 is the GEMA, same block they used in Mitsubishi. I heard so many hatre against domestic brand, but they just shooting their own foot
I've had so many problems just put $800 in fixing violent system, having problems starting it(range sensor)now I find out oil pump isn't pumping to upper engine so engine will not last much longer, has transmission problems,leaking,etc..HAS RECALLS BECAUSE ITS A PIECE OF SHIT.AND A 2009? WOW
@AreUBlem Not about me or you buddy. Its about the car. Dodge makes a solid, safe, stylish and reliable vehicle. Period. Look it up. Go try one. They are just as good if not better than Toyota. If that bothers you, don't take it up with me. Take it up with Dodge. Also, theres no need to be offensive on here. Could be young kids reading this I don't think you'd like your children reading the kind of comments you posted. Consider that.
If you paid any kind of money for this, you got robbed. Owners trying to "defend" this vehicle aren't fooling anybody. I have never driven such a badly designed vehicle. And people wonder why Chrysler went bankrupt.
got one of these as a rental 6 the trans didnt like shifting was really holding the motor back basically it was kinda shitty that is compared to our 06 buick randy voos we had in body shop which is still a better car , and older
@wmralder Enjoy your initial quality. Also, enjoy sitting at the service department constantly after you pass 50k mi. I'll just roll in my vehicle that has a flawless service history and non-plastic parts.
This car is horrible and a death trap. To read my issues please check this link. I almost got hit because of transmission issues and still not corrected. DEATH TRAP.

39000 for a journey is crazy, especially back then, now these cars are usually listed as is

If you don’t maintenance the transmission, it sure does. That’s the drivers fault
my mom got the juney as a rental and i love it

In hindsight I'm thankful we went with a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander V6 instead of this thing.
I own a 2010 dodge journey 2.4 and I'm proud
They're great

😂 The narrator though. 🤣
I hear the 2009 has a problem of premature brake wearing.

A leather cover upgrade from after market will inprove the look and ride of interior . It doesn't cost much.
The dodge journey is the size of a pilot or highlander
My parents have a Journey R/T at only $17,000
Cool
$35,000 for a Dodge!?!?!
Just the fully loaded all-wheel drive R/T.

@parekh09 As if it somehow negates the fact that the car is still mechanically a piece of shit.
Crazy thing is that the Journey still looks the same!!! I guess it's a TIMELESS design! Buhahahahaha
