In case this helps anyone, I sold all my bullets (10/15) in favor of echo. I am short af(5’4) though so if you’re very very tall I think it would maybe look a little weird maybe. For me its not about the dimension on how it fits my body, i think the shorter and wider bag makes packing things much easier. I am able to place things like books/iPads/notebooks/large Dopp kit BESIDES say a pouch, or a skinny bottle or jbl speaker etc, and they fit NEXT to each other beautifully. Where with the bullets I felt like i was packing ON TOP of each other at some point(not just up, but also out, like water bottle in front of book because it doesn’t fit side by side) So packing on top of each other both ways, out and up, and because you can’t pack like up its just wasted space. The only way this wouldn’t matter is if everything you pack is in pouches, then you’d fill up to the top, but I don’t carry many pouches at all. Oh, one last thing, because its wider, that top zip pocket is WAY more usable than def the 10l one, but even compared to 15L bullet one. While writing this just realized the webbing on the back inside and the pouch holder thing on the back inside of the bag that the bullets dont have.. yea... I know the echo(gr0) isn’t very popular, but all you bullet guys, you may surprise yourselves with this one. I just think goruck has done a terrible job in marketing this bag. As JB says, its not just for women, I wish they change photos and marketing of it like that in general.. (trying to pack wine bottles in it for photos😂😂).
They used to, it was called the SK16. They had SK16 for the Echo, SK26 for the GR1, and I think an SK40 for the GR2. Slick bags didn't have MOLLE on the outside, patch on the outside, or the hydration passthrough. If I remember correctly they ran $100 cheaper than their GR counterparts. The SK16 is a great little bag, but I think a GR0 sized one would be better for normal use.
Great review as always- best channel for go ruck reviews. Looking at new zero vs bullet dimensions, GR1 21L really is the classic that does everything I have a 15L bullet, GR1 26 L and GR1 21L slick and the 21 really is the perfect bag
Honestly, the Radio Ruck is the best overall backpack IMO. It has the same size of the GR1 but with a similar Gr0 footprint. The best feature of the Radio Ruck it stands up on it's own. Sad that they are discontinuing the Radio Rucks.
Oh, was there an announcement from GR that the RR are going to be discontinued? It was recently jus restocked during the black friday/christmas period though...
I’ve always considered the Echo or new GR0 a smaller version of the Radio both have 2 rows of Molly and both are shorter and wider in comparison to the GR1 and Bullets
Of the GoRucks I've seen, GR0 16l is Definitely the one that like to get for my use. It'll be absolutely perfect if they designed a shooter bag with these measurements.
Thanks for the review JB! The materials on the old packs looks darker and matte than the new GR0 (body and webbing). Is it the lighting or the new packs just come that way?
Thanks. Very interested in GRO/ECHO. I have noticed my 15L Bullet does not fit well. The pack is not wide enough and straps fall off. I do not have this issue with GR1s
Going to be picking up a GR0. It'll be perfect for me to use for everyday since I use my KR1 for my dog bag (and it runs a little tight for my work stuff, but makes the perfect walking/hiking bag for my dog stuff). The GR0 might work well, too, to put in my GR2 when I travel so I can wear a smaller backpack when I'm in Scotland/other countries. Do you know if the straps on the GR0 are wider than the straps on the KR1? I know they're probably thicker/beefier, but cannot tell if they are wider?
Great review, could you add the size information in metric and weight in kg for those not being based in the US. Would be very useful for your audience 😉
Great review JB. I've been waiting for this kind of review as I've been wanting to know how they compare. :) I've had the Echo for five years which was my 2nd purchase after the GR1. I've been contemplating on the Radio Ruck and may grab one if and when it comes back in stock. Just got the M22 (Coyote) and think it's pretty neat (and just different than the GR line).
Great video man! I've been going through your content over the last month or so and it's invaluable. You do a great job and I've learned a ton. Thank you!
Hey JB you get to test a lot of man bags. My question is, if you needed a kidney transplant and had to sell them all but one which one would you keep and which one would be the first to go? Thanks.
Ouch. Poor kidneys. Or kidney. Probably the Dark Oak 21L Heritage as the keeper. And since I’d be taking a break I’d sell a Rucker…the 25L with the 45lb plate. Definitely wouldn’t be needing two ruckers…and definitely wouldn’t want the 45lb plate either!
Slick version with top pocket... I would pick it up. I don't understand how they come up with some of these configurations that don't make sense. A hydration port with no hydration ring? Top pocket access with a rain flap and aqua guard zippers (kaidan V2)? Black with black interior while also releasing black with hi Viz interior. They could save thousands on manufacturing and inventory costs just by making logical design decisions.
Since this was built with the intention of fitting smaller framed people, is the shoulder strap length on this shorter than the GR1 or Radio strap length? I'm hoping it's about the same; this is highly important for me. Considering the GR0/Echo if the strap length didn't change, thanks!
@@JBOutside1 thanks for replying JB. What about the internal compartment? Have a feeling it will fit in there. For the laptop compartment,If you can use a measuring tape and tell me dimensions of laptop compartment i will really appreciate that. My laptop dimensions: (14.09" x 9.68" x 0.64" inches) Thanks again

haha, thanks! great addition to this GR0 argument.
Does it stand up on its own or is the bottom slanted like it used to be?
Great video, thank you! I wish Goruck would build the GR0/Echo in a slick version! Cheers from Germany😊
That would be cool!

I have a 15L bullet, GR1 26 L and GR1 21L slick and the 21 really is the perfect bag
I agree. But it is nice to have an agile solution for EDC.

@@-p0op0o I haven’t seen an announcement. It sold out and is not a regular item. It gets restocked every few years.

It is, however .... It is thiiccccccc when loaded out.
I wish they’d make the radio ruck again. Seems like the perfect size for me
Me too. The Radio is an all-time classic
You are now my go to on bags. Especially since work in the same industry I hope to see you around in the world
That would be great!! Thanks for watching!!

Nice! I really hope they bring back a Shooter option. Maybe pre-order style? People would wait for it
Thanks for the review JB! The materials on the old packs looks darker and matte than the new GR0 (body and webbing). Is it the lighting or the new packs just come that way?
The new packs looks little different in the latest editions. Not just lighting.

The wider bag may work then
Thank you so much for this review!! I’ve been on the fence about ordering this bag and you’ve sold me on it. 🙌
😁👊🏻
I saw this drop on their site but keep waiting for a Bullet Heritage with laptop compartment on the back.
that’ll be a winner if they do it!
For what it’s worth, it was Echo, Radio Ruck, GR1 and GR2. Then the GR0 came in to play.
Thanks!!!
@@JBOutside1 similarly, a truly OG GR0 will have the ballistic nylon bottom panel and hydration tube pass-through.

Good choice! And I'm not really sure to be honest. I don't have a KR1 to directly compare

@@JBOutside1 My only minor beef with the M22 is that it lacks the inside sleeve pocket (elastic or slim)... but other than that, I really dig it!

How do the standard or long GoRuck weight plates fit in the GR0?
Good question. The standard plates should fit fine while a little tight
Still one f your best videos, staying relevant and doggie approved.
😎
The new one looks a lot boxier than your original one. Is that due the older one being broken in?
yes, for sure. The old one is very loved
I waited too long on the Huckleberry M22 drop when they were selling for $175...:(
they have a bundle at GORUCK
Is there a pocket to add a frame sheet on the GR0?
No
Next time leave the dog’s comments in!
Haha...noted!
can I fit a 2019 16 inch macbook pro inside GR0?
No. But I’ll caveat that with I haven’t specifically tested it. My 14” MBP fits fine though.
