Mario Kart Tour had crappy design with a stupid card gimmick. You HAVE to have a certain character to play as with a CERTAIN car to drive and on a SPECIFIC track. It sucks! Let me play as Mario and not because he's good on the track, but because of the different things he can do with his own unique abilities. The characters in the game are all literally the exact same, with you needing a certain character for the track. The karts at least have different drifting sometimes. Overall, It's just a bad game. I don't even play it when I have nothing to do on my phone. Using the bathroom with my phone? Playing literally anything other than that crappy 'Mario' game.
Toad made quite a lot of sense as an unlockable character at the time, seeing as it came right after all these Golf and Party games that would usually relegate him to a non-playable referee role. Late 90s-early 00s sure was an awful time to be a Toad fan. Imagine how they felt when the game was announced and the unlockables weren't even known.
I love hearing Scott slow down towards the end of longer game reviews and get very personal and honest with how much he loves games. It’s those moments that keep me coming back; he really loves what he does :)
Doubble dash is the absolute best Mario kart. Also Scott you missed an unlockable, it's the golden trophy kart. You can obtain it by doing all cup tour in mirror mode.
He also missed the most unique part of Double Dash, The double dash boost. Two characters synchronize to boost at the start resulting in the strongest boost in the game.
My favorite Mario Kart game period That's alot of content for a bonus disc. I played a good bit of Sonic Heroes on PS2. Ah Kirby Right Back At You a fun saturday morning cartoon from my childhood :D 7:06 No mention of slide attacks? The player in the back can do a slide attack by using the triggers it spins out opposing karts, can steal an item, troll the driver, and can be a cool way to maneuver in a pinch 16:50 You missed 2 key unlockables. By getting Gold in Mirror Grand Tour you get the Parade Kart which is honestly one of the best karts in the game and any weight team can use it. By far the biggest unlockable is an alternate opening scene and credits which you get by geting gold in every Grand Prix mode.
vvsvlogs he probably chooses a topic, writes a script, rewrites, films it, rewrites some stuff after he finds some jokes aren’t as good, and then edits it together, gets sound together, and then uploads! Just kidding. He’s amazing. You could set a watch by his release schedule and I respect and love his content.
Immense Data Maybe I’m unrealistic but I can’t imagine him getting burnout because he seems to enjoy what he does and he doesn’t upload daily. His routine may be the best way to avoid burnout but I don’t know
My favourite thing in this game is unironically how the characters actually hold the items. I love it. I also like how one person from each character pair juggles triple items, while the other stacks them. 15:37 well actually, this was pretty much how I reacted after thinking this was the one mario kart my favourite character wasn’t in.
one thing that i'd like to point out about co-op, the player in the back not only controls items, but can actually do quick sideways adjustments by pressing L or R, which pushes the kart left or right quickly. it was really useful for avoiding ledges or hitting items and made it so the player in the back could watch your back if you were in front. i spent many hours on co-op in both positions... really underrated aspect to this game. the first and only collaborative racing game
It’s a shame Scott had to buy all those condoms for them to never be used. The lengths he goes to for us, a true UA-cam hero! X Edit:Much Likes Friends
This was MK8D, so we know all the characters were unlocked from the start. The only added features via update was Labo, and a BOTW skin for Link. The exclamation mark only shows up when you unlock a new character, so he has probably played as vanilla Link, but not BOTW Link, at least not until 18:20.
DD!! is my personal favorite Mario Kart game. Maybe it’s nostalgia speaking, but some aspects of the game to me just feel right. DS is objectively the most mechanically competent and the best Mario Kart game, but I just can’t stop coming back to DD!!

@@bagofcrime1772 But that implies that Mario Kart Wii has some of the worst competitive gameplay in the series, which it doesn't. A surprising amount of people still play it competitively online. Of course there's no big tournaments like with Smash Bros, but that was never something Mario Kart was gonna have.
@@jeromealday614 Well, people are very competitive online - they learn all the tricks of the trade with every track, every item, so they can have the best odds of winning. They even have clan wars. But it's not competitive in the same way Super Smash Bros is. You can't have big tournaments with huge prize pots.
@@CaptainCoolzCT- I've played a ton of mario kart 7. I really like the time trials and the battle modes. Online is decent, would be better if not for hackers, but they added a community option, which I really liked. The problem I find with the game is the roster. I would've preferred bowser jr with honey queen and dry bones, etc,. The game's grand prix can be a bit a bit dull if you are experienced already. also where's the Versus mode.
I would love to see a more content remaster of this game for switch it would be even more accessible because joycons could be used as well as the gamecube adaptor
I think a sequel would be better. I know some people (Andre of GameXplain for one) have argued for a Double Dash sequel or mode in the past, but there's never been a better time to do it than now. Switch already has a normal Mario Kart in the form of 8 Deluxe, going more experimental with the next entry would be perfect for making the two games on Switch feel unique from each other. The joycons would also make it easy to set up LAN play and have fun with vs/co-op play, making the game more accessible than any Mario Kart title previous.
You can do a lot more in co-op mode! The second player has the ability to swipe at an opponent to push them or steal an item, they also can flick the analog stick left and right to give you a drift boost (the first player cant do this), they can give you an extra start boost, and you can always switch drivers throughout the game too!

"Is it really exciting to unlock toad in a mario kart game?"
Mario kart tour: "hold my beer"
That's nothing. Mario Kart Tour thinks it's exciting to unlock Mario in a Mario Kart game.
Diamond Plush Productions : You don’t have to. You can still use a non-preferred character and kart on a track, you just won’t get a higher score.
he's saying it's such a pain in the ass to do you get hyped when you get it
that game was just OK.
Idk why they’re never revisited this. Like… an older title should have tons of features by now! This being chiefly one of them!
Guys please come to the party Koopa Kid was really looking forward to having some people over
*No*
Yes
I'm not going if Daisy's gonna be there.
@@thebeastwithin6978 Just like death, Daisy being at the party was inevitable.
Felix Fathead I’m sorry bro but my mom said she needs to know koopa’s parents 😫😫😫

Mario Kart 64: Prepare for trouble
Mario Kart Double Dash: and make it double
Super Mario Kart: Looks like Super Mario Kart is blasting off again! ‘Ding’
Nice one.
Mario Kart DS: To protect the world from devastation
Mario Kart Wii: To unite all people within our nation
Mario Kart 7: To denounce the evils of truth and love
I used to 100% complete double dash every day when I was younger because I didn't have a memory card

You sir, are a man and should go down in the hall of fame
Yooo same
We’d just leave the cube on until we played again.
Doubble dash is the absolute best Mario kart. Also Scott you missed an unlockable, it's the golden trophy kart. You can obtain it by doing all cup tour in mirror mode.
Too bad that it isn't a good cart, but hey! Another unlockable :D
Mario kart wii master race
@@jaysefgames1155Gotta agree with you. MKWii probably gives the best experience outside of battle mode.
He also missed the most unique part of Double Dash, The double dash boost. Two characters synchronize to boost at the start resulting in the strongest boost in the game.

Scott, you wore the wrong shirt! You've been wearing the same shirt for the last 3 mario kart videos! How dare you change it?!
>when the fans have so little to complain about

My favorite Mario Kart game period
That's alot of content for a bonus disc. I played a good bit of Sonic Heroes on PS2. Ah Kirby Right Back At You a fun saturday morning cartoon from my childhood :D
7:06 No mention of slide attacks? The player in the back can do a slide attack by using the triggers it spins out opposing karts, can steal an item, troll the driver, and can be a cool way to maneuver in a pinch
16:50 You missed 2 key unlockables. By getting Gold in Mirror Grand Tour you get the Parade Kart which is honestly one of the best karts in the game and any weight team can use it. By far the biggest unlockable is an alternate opening scene and credits which you get by geting gold in every Grand Prix mode.
Don't forget, the two people can switch places (both players have to press the Z-button at the same time)
8:53 i can't believe this was the first appearance of grover cleveland!
I literally thought to myself not a single minute ago: "I wonder when Scott will release a vid about Double Dash". And here we are!!
I call bullshit on that
mario
Omg me too.
Sure you did.
This was one of the very first games I ever played. so just about everything in this game is fucking perfect to me.
Even flaccid toad.
I’m still unsure how he makes 15+ minute videos every week
vvsvlogs he probably chooses a topic, writes a script, rewrites, films it, rewrites some stuff after he finds some jokes aren’t as good, and then edits it together, gets sound together, and then uploads!
Just kidding. He’s amazing. You could set a watch by his release schedule and I respect and love his content.
Yahtzee does a Zero Punctuation video every week, too. I don't understand how either of these guys do it.
Hard work and an optimized process and schedule. Scott might encounter burnout soon though.
He has a whole week to do it lol
Immense Data Maybe I’m unrealistic but I can’t imagine him getting burnout because he seems to enjoy what he does and he doesn’t upload daily. His routine may be the best way to avoid burnout but I don’t know
This game with 16 players must have been the most amazing chaos
My favourite thing in this game is unironically how the characters actually hold the items. I love it. I also like how one person from each character pair juggles triple items, while the other stacks them.
15:37 well actually, this was pretty much how I reacted after thinking this was the one mario kart my favourite character wasn’t in.
That's adorable.

"Why would IGN give it a 7.9/10."
Too much water...?
I mean Daisy’s Cruise Ship, Dino Park and Peach Beach did have a lot
Too much dashes...?
I miss the old days of magazines like EGM that didn’t have score inflation. A 7 used to be considered a decent score.
Too much Daisy? I mean, if you play Daisy, she mentions it everytime.
too many exclamation points
one thing that i'd like to point out about co-op, the player in the back not only controls items, but can actually do quick sideways adjustments by pressing L or R, which pushes the kart left or right quickly. it was really useful for avoiding ledges or hitting items and made it so the player in the back could watch your back if you were in front. i spent many hours on co-op in both positions... really underrated aspect to this game. the first and only collaborative racing game
Yea this was awesome for snagging items from the cpu players too! Glad you brought it up
IGN: "the "L' on Luigi's hat is backward on the cover... 7.9/10"
FAI⅃
7.8 / 10

7.9/10 you feel like backwards L Luigi
They probably failed to consider that it was mirror mode
And the L is missing from his hat on the title screen I nearly said Tittie screen oops
Wait a second...
“Double Dash!!”
Double the exclamation marks.
Ok, Nintendo.
If the title was accurate, it would be called "Double Dash--"
Well yeah everybody knows that :/
When you get to Mario Kart Wii, you should definitely mention the custom tracks and its still-thriving online community

So your telling me Scott that you have played all the koopa kids, all the baby characters, and Mario and peach with power ups... BUT NOT LINK?!
18:20
Brandon Henschke this is some Matrix type crap right here
This was MK8D, so we know all the characters were unlocked from the start. The only added features via update was Labo, and a BOTW skin for Link. The exclamation mark only shows up when you unlock a new character, so he has probably played as vanilla Link, but not BOTW Link, at least not until 18:20.
Who the hell plays as link?
DD!! is my personal favorite Mario Kart game. Maybe it’s nostalgia speaking, but some aspects of the game to me just feel right. DS is objectively the most mechanically competent and the best Mario Kart game, but I just can’t stop coming back to DD!!

Mario Kart 64 is the most divisive amongst those who aren't nostalgic for it.
There is actually one big reason to play Wii over 7 and 8.

I've read people saying Mario Kart Wii is the Melee of Mario Kart.
K-leb Mario cart wii is the brawl of Mario cart
Has almost no new ideas but is still a good game
@@bagofcrime1772 But that implies that Mario Kart Wii has some of the worst competitive gameplay in the series, which it doesn't. A surprising amount of people still play it competitively online. Of course there's no big tournaments like with Smash Bros, but that was never something Mario Kart was gonna have.
@@k-leb4671 Will never be a competitive because of the amount of RNG in it
@@jeromealday614 Well, people are very competitive online - they learn all the tricks of the trade with every track, every item, so they can have the best odds of winning.

I love your profile pic!
Doshin the giant is a game... but I have fond memories of it :3
I would love to see a more content remaster of this game for switch it would be even more accessible because joycons could be used as well as the gamecube adaptor
Please don't use separate joycons to play the game...
