Bro I'm cryin'. We saw Goompa and didn't get anything on his backstory. For those not in the know, Goompa didn't just travel the land, he was a world-champion fighter and literally invented the Multibonk move. Furthermore, he TAUGHT the Master of the Dojo in Toad Town how to fight, and his wife Gooma taught Tayce T., the Master's sister, how to cook. There's a reason why Goompa is the one to teach Mario about the battle system in the prologue. He knows everything there is to know about it.
This literally implies that Goompa (in his youth) is stronger than Bowser in his *powered up* state, because The Master, despite his poor health condition, has slightly better stats than Bowser. (Out of curiosity, where did you find this information? I only know abt the master training part. The multibonk stuff makes sense though, because Goombario learns it as his final move.)
@waffleuser It's all from in-game dialogue. The Toad who stands next to the Blue House in Toad Town has different dialogue between each chapter, most of it relating to the Master's family, and some relating to Goompa. In addition, if you tattle Tayce T. and the Master you can put together a few extra pieces of it.
@@King_Yef I figured it would be dialogue since this game has so much of it. It makes the NPCs feel so much more lively too, and I actively check back on them. I also keep Goombario as my main to use Tattle often, but even then, I still missed some of the things you mentioned, thanks for sharing.
@waffleuser Not really. Bowser can negate Goombario's charged attacks, so who's to say he can't revert the Master to his base form? He can one shot a Stone Cap while the Master at full power takes multiple. While he may have higher attack power than Bowser, he still loses a 1 on 1.
An interesting note about Galoombas is that they look more like chestnuts than Goombas do, and that's what Goombas are named after in Japanese. That, and the fact that they're on Dinosaur Island might imply that they're the ancestors of the modern Goomba

As a certified goomba connoisseur I have to add on at 26:40 because the Goombario actually receives a letter not long after the fight where the Red and Blue goomba brothers write about how impressed they are by Goombario's strength and ask him to be their friend. Also, it is a crime to not go over Captain Goomba (Bowser's Minions) if you're looking for goombas that tell a story. The original Goomba sprite took up just as much space as the mushroom sprite, as it would've still required an entirely new sprite. The space saving measure was the fact that the walking animation was accomplished by just flipping that one sprite horizontally.

A nature documentary on the Super Mario enemies is an idea for a video I've had for a long time, but never had the time or energy to write a script or anything. But this is pretty close, so I'm very pleased to see some info in here not even I knew. And also this style of humor is super hilarious, so keep it up.
17:15 I actually really like the implication that Bowser knows all of his minion's names and that's part of why Bowser hates Mario so much. Because Mario gives his friends boo-boos.
There’s actually one you forgot, in Galaxy 2, there’s a slightly shorter Goomba that’s a little bit more grey. They’re hard to even recognize as different Goombas tho, so I don’t blame you. The only difference is that when you spin at them, they instantly explode into a coin instead of spinning around and having to be touched again to explode into Starbits.
FINALLY!! We need more videos like this to help differentiate different types and species of goombas as well as discuss goomba history, thank you Carlito, for being one who cares about the Goombas. Also sorry but I hate to be That goomba, but in Mario Galaxy 1 the goombas did own their own planet before the Jack O' Goombas did, but its not shape like a jack o lantern its shaped like a yoshi head. Ok thats it thank you again >:)
The Goomba Bros wrote a letter to Goombario explaining how he showed them that being good is the best way to be strong, and that they were going to turn good. Best redemption arc in Goomba history
If Sad Goombas are their own species separate to regular goombas, that implies the existence of: -Excited Goomba -Scared Goomba -Disgusted Goomba -Mad Goomba Also I find it hilarious because Nintendo is basically saying that if you feel sad, you are not human 😂
I just stumbled on this video without prior knowledge of the channel and I have to say: We all should strife to be as excited about the little things as Carlito is about Goombas.
Things i would have said about Galoombas: They were likely created to show off the more precise item carrying and throwing mechanics of SMW. Their round design more closely resembles the chestnuts that Goombas take their Japanese name from. Their ability to survive being jumped on makes them much tougher than their Goomba cousins, and given that they live in Dinosaur Land they might be related the stretchy Goombas from Yoshi's Island who can be flattened and still walk around with Yoshi on top of them, but you didn't mention those in this video :P
This video is outstanding so much lore to the Goomba; wasn’t expecting so many crazy variants in the old books and magazines, just crazy I’m sure a lot of research went into this, amazing work
If you wonder about goomba lives then look at Mario rpg. There is a goomba that retired from bowsers army and works a shop in Monster town. After his service he got married and had triplets. Fun fact: He talked about how bowser knew the blue clothed goombas name, bowser actually knows the majority of his army and despite being a brute, actually has a good relationship with the members of his army. Bowser actually talks to the goomba shopkeep in RPG and reminisce for a bit. What I love most is that when the goomba shows his kids to bowser, bowser is so proud he turns away and happy cries. Bowser is better than peach! Bowser is a king for his people

I didn't know I needed this video, but I did. Thank you for the time and effort put into this. I'd love to see more in the future if you're willing.
Gomba
This was the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.
We need even more videos like this
I’ve been binging the “every single ___” series. Every single koopa when? 👀
Honestly surprised you didn't talk about Captain Goomba more, considering its the first and only time a Goomba was ever a Protagonist
Goombas are the best species ever.
*Change my mind.*
the word "goomba" got funnier as the video went on. i love goombas now man im a fucking goomba fan
Pride Month ended so Goomba History Month could be fully realized
My favorite enemy. That and galoomba. They're unbelievably adorable lol. And totally underrated.
Kind of a shame that the different sized goombas aren't mentioned (micro-goomba, mini-goomba (the gold ones), big goomba, giant goomba, Chuboomba, ect)
Your delivery and pacing is perfect
Classic Carlito W
Also, Goombud approves
28:33 Fun Fact: The Black chest Demon is also the inspiration for Snatcher from a Hat in Time
Honestly you did captain goomba dirty. the one from bowsers’s minions. he has the best goomba storyline of all time man!
GOOMBELLA GANG 🔛🔝
*Kirito, Softly in the background:*
Gary.....
We are quite the species. I approve this video
He totally neglected to talk about one of the best goomba character that is you though.
@@victzegopterix2 FACTS thank you so much
I want a plush of every single goomba in this video please. I love goombas.
When I was 11 or 12 I had a crush on Goombella from Thousand Year Door
The Goomba Bros wrote a letter to Goombario explaining how he showed them that being good is the best way to be strong, and that they were going to turn good. Best redemption arc in Goomba history
As a Goomba enthusiast, I can confirm.
If Sad Goombas are their own species separate to regular goombas, that implies the existence of:
-Excited Goomba
-Scared Goomba
-Disgusted Goomba
-Mad Goomba
Also I find it hilarious because Nintendo is basically saying that if you feel sad, you are not human 😂
Aroused Goomba
@@toast4248 You know what? If Sad Goomba is canon, I wouldn’t be surprised if this one was as well
You forgot, Sleeping Goomba (Super Mario Wonder), even they’re not safe!
@@toast4248 literally minus8
31:37 bro imagine your whole existence being boiled down to the fact that you’re known for being robbed 😭
What an amazing video, this is a beautiful masterpiece that should be seen by everyone all around the world. Thank you for changing my life.
If possible I would like to see a every single Yoshi. I don't know if there as diverse as the goomba or the shy Guy though
I just stumbled on this video without prior knowledge of the channel and I have to say: We all should strife to be as excited about the little things as Carlito is about Goombas.
Things i would have said about Galoombas:
They were likely created to show off the more precise item carrying and throwing mechanics of SMW.
Their round design more closely resembles the chestnuts that Goombas take their Japanese name from.
Their ability to survive being jumped on makes them much tougher than their Goomba cousins, and given that they live in Dinosaur Land they might be related the stretchy Goombas from Yoshi's Island who can be flattened and still walk around with Yoshi on top of them, but you didn't mention those in this video :P
forgot Doctor Gooma from the Doctor Gooma Tower in Dr Mario World
This video is outstanding so much lore to the Goomba; wasn’t expecting so many crazy variants in the old books and magazines, just crazy I’m sure a lot of research went into this, amazing work
If you wonder about goomba lives then look at Mario rpg.
Bowser is a king for his people
Man missed the skeleton Goomba from NSMB2 and the Gromba from Dream team, (those stone dudes)
I love how goomba village in paper mario is literally just 1 family of goombas and a toad for population.
I liked Professor Frankly, he actually broke the fourth wall!
I love how they give a description of every single goomba and then and the end just *Gary*
As a Strollin Stu I appreciate being treated nicely and not being stomped on
the video I have waited for my whole life
Missed the huge goomba from mario U and the mini goomba from new mario bros 2
