@@xaviers8583 Different styles. Tilbrook is far better as a writer of melody and probably the better musician. Different vocal stylings handle different songs differently. For example, Nat King Cole vs Frank Sinatra
Glen Tilbrook has become an incredible singer. He practically performs year round doing solo shows when Squeeze isn’t touring. He has very talented musician sons too. He’s really amazing 🤩
This is the album that Carrack came back into the band for (only for this one album though) and sang lead on "Loving You Tonight" (a poor man's "Tempted").....
I saw Squeeze with Jules at Pine Knob (Metro Detroit) I still have the stub, it was July 9, 1988. (The opening act was The Smithereens) So Jules had show in England apparently, that would have been great to have had that over here back then.
I saw them open for Bowie at Giants Stadium in 87. Amazing show. Love them. They were also the last show I saw in Feb 2020 just before the shit hit the fan
It's something Jools Holland has no hard feelings he isn't on piano in Squeeze. When was this? I thought Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford were the only original members currently in Squeeze. They didn't get in the same room for Bands Reunited, but this is close and besides Paul Carrack is on East Side Story. They easily could have performed "Tempted".
People forget how very talented Chris Gifford is. With age Gifford has become a rather humble character and seems content to let Tilbrook take centre stage. Gifford actually wrote most of Squeeze's best songs, including Tempted and Tilbrook added the music. We mustn't forget Chris's contribution and I believe also he wrote the majority of the lyrics for Cool For Cats - which he sang brilliantly with his cockney accent - and all the words for Up The Junction - another fabulous hit. These three songs written by Gifford are by far my favourite and I would dearly love to see Squeeze perform one day, even though we're living through terrible covid times now.
Couple of things Chris - his name is Difford not Gifford. Nobody that knows Squeeze forgets Chris Difford because he didn't just write most of Squeeze's best songs he wrote the lot along with Glenn Tilbrook. Chris is the lyricist and Glenn the music man. These are the roles that they have had since they formed 48 years ago. I hope you do get to see them live as they are magnificent. Chris is the quiet one of the pair but the band nowadays rocks the house - great characters across the board - Simon on drums, Steve on percussion and background vocals, Stephen on keyboards, Yolanda on bass and Melvyn on steel guitar. Get tickets for when they are in town and have a fantastic night.
I saw Chris Difford live may 19th 2022 in Chichester and he was very entertaining for almost 2 hours . He sang some of Squeeze greatest hits .The audience loved him well worth seeing great sense of humour Well done Chris ....
Chris Gifford sold me some raffle tickets at a charity do in Liverpool once. The same do Gazza got absolutely pissed and punched a pap photographer. Good night!
No. Apparently they parted on good terms and he has played with them intermittently since. Not only a great host for this style of programme, which has been going for at least 2 decades, but also tours with Jools Holland Big Band and has released a multitude of recordings. I’ve never heard him say a bad word about Squeeze, only positivity and who in my humble opinion, are up there alongside The Beatles, Stines and The Kinks. Info not aimed at people in the UK, who, if watching this, are most probably aware.
God, how anyone could stand to be around Jools Holland for any length of time is utterly beyond me. He’s always been such an annoying, pretentious twot.
his head was swimming with his former mates on stage - he was very antiseptic... clearly bitter with them still... I was hoping he'd play along with Carrack and performed Tempted... oh well.
Glen Tilbrook one of the best vocalist in popular music, along with Don Everly.
Such a unique voice, and a sweet guitarist as well. Not to mention his adorable personality and gorgeous face.....been crazy about him for 40+ years.

I think Paul Carrack is better by far

The fantastic squeeze with their old piano player Jools Holland
And Jool's drummer Gilson Lavis was the Squeeze drummer
@@alanwaites8627 He was "Squeeze's drummer" way before he was "Jool's drummer" and he's AMAZING
I’ve seen Glenn Tilbrook live a lot over the years. Wonderful songwriter. Great performer
I'd say crowded house were influenced by squeeze sounds like a song they could have done
Stalker alert
'Some Fantasic Place' has some awesong songs on it. Glad to hear a couple here that are less well known.

Amazingly talented duo....Unique sound. Was privileged to see them live back in the day. GREAT MEMORIES!
Appreciating all your great people in your abilities, to appreciate how great the squeeze really really is!
The legends that are Squeeze
Pete Thomas!!! Pete Thomas!!! Pete Thomas!!!
I always liked squeeze being a metal head squeeze was a band that was cool to listen to
Came for Jools and Squeeze but died on Rainer Ptaeck. Incredible show.
How good are Squeeze 👏😃
Very, very
Episode 10
Jools is joined by soul singer Al Green, pop group Squeeze, Efua, Richard Thompson and Rainer Ptacek
Just good to see the boys back together ❤

If the new album at the time was Some Fantastic Place then it was 1993.
You are so right ! Even as an encore.
Jools left for his show. The issue was Difford and Tillbrook, but they are over it and presently touring and have been for years

Wow. I never heard Jools Holland talk until now. Not what I was expecting.
....he’s a bit of a high talker

Without a 3rd wheel, don't need you Jules
Wow dog...it's 3rd RAIL and the dude's name is Jools and he's still the greatest keyboard player that Squeeze ever had...
I did'nt know that Jool's Holland had such a posh accent.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He's a great player but a bit of a tool....Kind of like Stewart Copeland....
No shows that are cool like this in usa
Whats the name of the song at 4:38 ?
This was a great song I would love to promote a show like this
Cool fer kats

Dude...it's DIFFORD !!! Not GIFFORD ...WTF DUDE...Enough already....
Paul Carrack!
Yes! Why hasn’t anyone highlighted this until now! Paul Carrack was one of the greatest voices in Rock and Roll. And here he’s just another musician.

How else will Squeeze get to see Jools again?
Surprised he even acknowledges them....He's very talented but a bit of a douche.....
Jools reminded me of Chico Marx on the piano.
What the F??k happened to AL GREEN? dx
That opening jam almost sounded like Doctor Jazz, one of the few songs Jools sang on with Squeeze
He also wrote the music on "Dr. Jazz"
What year please?
1993.
1993
Oooo ooh the intro started to go a bit tits up towards the end 😄
Always a rather odd show with a lot going on.
Almost too much. Very ambitious on the part of Jools
THE WORLD IS RUGHT!... for at least 5 minutes...
Wait! WTF happened to Al Green!??
This is a video for Quarantined Squeeze fans mate 😆
How could you skip AL GREEN? 😭
Yep, it coyld be a list. Sam Cooke, Tony Williams of the Platters, Johnny Nash, Roy Orbison ....and on.
What? No Gilson Lavis???
Plays drums in Jools Rhythm and blues orchestra
Glen = John Lennon
Glenn...BETTER THAN JOHN LENNON....
Jools...You were never as gifted as Difford & Tilbrook...It shows...Che,xxx
jools has got a lot better as a presenter, thas why his show is still going strong.and he is very gifted one of the best piano players out there.ffs
While I adore Difford & Tilbrook and think Jools was a dick for not rejoining the band, you cannot discount his talent. He owns those piano keys.

JOOLS! Wait! What? That was Squeeze. Umm... Err...
I wonder if it was awkward at all for Jools to introduce Squeeze?
I shouldn't think so, I reckon he was always distanced from the rest of them anyway.
He has also seen guests who he has done session work for like The The and Fine Young Cannibals.
He left them, and turned down an opportunity to reunite in 91 Don’t see what’s so great about him, except his ego

It is possible for musicians to be friends after leaving projects
I would have played a mix between classic and latest
Bands want to promote new songs or they'll forever be pigeon holed. Squeeze's newest songs are among their best.
I would have got Jools to perform with the band and Paul presenting while he performs a song Paul ain't on the record like Cool For Cats
They were obviously there to promo their latest album at the time "Some Fantastic Place".
PLAY All the music! WTH?
No. Never the Hootananny!

how the heck did jools holland get his own show he looks lost out there

Kind of lost their rhythm in the middle of that 'all band intro'.
