Despite what the one-hit status of Dexys in the U.S. might be, Kevin Rowland is a true musical genius. His 3rd and final album with Dexys, "Don't Stand Me Down," is a masterpiece of 80s pop and, in my opinion, one of the greatest albums of the era (it even has a 12-minute epic in "What She's Like"). A shame he's only recognized for this one song.

When I saw their debut album and "Don't Stand Me Down" featured on the book "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" in 2007 I knew the full recognition would come sooner or later.
