Age seems to have missed Glenn's voice. He sounds exactly as he did 40 years ago. Top bloke and top band.
Tilbrook is also one of the most under rated lead guitar players in the history of pop music.
Glenn Tilbrook is the most underrated British songwriter (with Diffords lyrics) of the last 30 years.
And he's an unbelievable guitarist... check out him playing Voodoo chile
Agreed! It was hard for that next generation of songwriters to get their recognition in the same way. Paul Heaton is another guy who was massively underrated.
No doubt. I never realized just how good Sqweeze is until hearing this whole thing out. I was just showing one of my online flirts "Black Coffee in Bed".
I agree and I was about to say the same thing thanks for posting that!
What an incredibly special band they are. This would've been fantastic to see live.
Blimey. Feeling my age watching this. What a wonderful British band Squeeze are. Deserve to be up there with the Beatles, the Stones and the Kinks. I first saw them live, on the "argy bargy" tour in 1980, at the Liverpool students union, Mountford Hall.
I stood really close to the front, and was astonished at how great a guitarist Glen Tilbrook was/is. He simply didn't look wt what his fretting hand was doing during solo's. Even Hendrix couldn't do that! He inspired me to buy my first guitar and learn. I now have 4 guitars, and a bass, and I'm still crap. Love Squeeze.
Tilbrook IS a great guitarist, no doubt....but no way you can put him above Hendrix, that's going a bit too far.
@@bloomintokyoseoul
If you've never really seen this guy play all out, I wouldn't discount him being just as good as Hendricks. He's that good
@@hoover2501 I said he's good, just that it may be a bit much (and misguided; they're playing different types of music after all) to say he's better than Jimi.
What can you say about these wonderful people who have given so much pleasure to millions over the years with their superb musicianship and fantastic songs. Wasted on a wooden audience who remained mostly static throughout.
Difford and Tillbrook are Lennon and McCartney Mark 2.
Totally original and nobody has their song writing ability.
Brilliant, just brilliant. Thanks for perfection.
Damn these guys just keep getting better and better every one of them outstanding musicians and off the charts vocals. Brilliant!!!!
Great performance. Tillbrooks voice is still awesome. Great lineup.
They toured Australia in around 79 or 80. They were known here as UK SQUEEZE. I went to see them at a pub venue, sticky carpet, a few hundred people, purely on the back of Cool for Cats. I was blown away by them. It’s a rare band that you see knowing only 1 song and love the entire gig which makes you desperate to buy their record. 🎸❣️🎼
Squeeze's songs tell all our stories: our loves, our losses, our regrets, our dreams...loved their music then, love them more today
Tempted is one of the greatest songs ever...
I don’t think many Americans realize how great great great songwriters they are you can name like 25 songs right off the bat not exaggerating
And that folks, is how it's done!
K R ....amazing band and performance....like nothing has changed since 1980’s
A fantastic British Band. Loved them when the first came out, still loving their music today.
Oh the gorgeousness...Glenns Voice still so perfect
Tillbrooks voice is spot on....even after all these years...Difford as well! Bands latest iteration also very tight...especially the drummer.
Yeah, I don't know who this drummer is, but he's absorbed all of the original album drum parts and he's nailing it.
@Coogan Lots. He's a season drummer. He played with Glenn for years before Squeeze
Watching on Big TV - Sound great over Hifi - Next best thing to being there - Stood in middle of my living room watching the Squeeze with a Pint of Ice cold beer in hand my hand
No queeues - No elbow jogging - No Rain - No big guy coming and standing right in front of you ! -Just The Best bits and no long travel home ! - Who could ask for more !
Thankyou for Sharing !
S.B. British Isles !
Stunning performance by one of the very greats- give me chills every time.
one of the best lines ever in a rock song. my assets froze while yours have dropped. great educated songwriters these guys are.
All these years later and the lyrics are still there in my head and Tillbrook and Difford are as fresh as ever,
They don't come much better than Glenn Tilbrook. Towering talent, and just an overall superb fantastic band! One of the all time greats in my opinion!! This was awesome to watch.
Underated is an overused term on UA-cam but Glen Tilbrook is one fine guitarist and his lead breaks always do the songs justice. Squeeze aren't underated, we all know how excellent they are.
Exactly, those who know Squeeze know how talented they are. I do feel, however, Squeeze is under appreciated. That’s why they aren’t in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when they truly deserve to be.
finally, someone who understands that it's a physical impossibility for everythng to be underrated while nothing is seemingly overrated.
14ys old in Scotland, Squeeze and Queen. 35yrs later I had to buy the album. These guys told stories with every song. Brilliance!
Seen them many times over the years and lve never seen them do a bad gig but my best was in Blackheath south London when they played an intimate venue prior to going on tour they were rocking and the audience knew all the words ? Some Fantastic Place that night , Cheers 🍻 to Squeeze
Absolutely Amazing! Tilbrook's voice as good as ever. One of the most underrated bands all time. What an amazing catalog of hit songs.
What great lyrics and what a great voice. Timeless!
I had the special treat of seeing Squeeze perform live in Boston on Tues PM. Fantastic sample of 16 songs - still exceptional! Run don’t walk to see them while they are touring
Great great band! So nice to hear “is this love” again! Their music is awesome
I always knew GT was a masterful guitar player and singer (and songwriter) - but as a guitar player I nearly fell out of my chair to see him play AND sing Goodbye Girl - that’s a hell of a trick!
Dear Mr. Tilbrook,
Time only comes back round if, you were of any repute in the beginning.
Really lovely and heartwarming to see Mr. D & yourself happily comfortable on stage together.
Thank You.
Thanks for uploading this, I've been trying to find it for about five years!
Proper musicians. Loved to have been there for this. Do it again guys
These guys still have all the energy you could ask for and then some!! Imagine closing your eyes and hearing this and you would think the gig was circa 1982!!
Oh my Gosh - I was just so in love with Glenn Tillbrook in the 80's 💗👌👌👌💋& just have Always loved "Squeeze"
I saw squeeze in a free gig on BlackHeath in the 70s when I was a kid growing up in Lewisham SE London I was hooked and seen them a few times since over the years. I saw them again recently in the corn exchange in Cambridge and nearly cried at how good they still are and the brilliant SE London memories all came flooding back!
Thanks guys for the great memories of great nights and great music!
Great show! Can't stop listening. These guys sound so good live! Great songs and lots of fun listening to them. Awesome crew!
Wow! What a great concert. An excellent band rockin well. And 10/10 four the video and sound Artists Den!
I saw them at Hammersmith Odeon in the early 80s.....
Great Gig.
Great band.
Real musicians.

Thank you for listing the songs. Surprised not to see Black Coffee on the list.
So happy i found this. Love Squeeze. Wish they did Labelled With Love too.
I have loved this band forever! Loving this!
MY YOUTH AND BEYOND - Growing up in London. Also as changing Squeeze line ups go over the years, this is up there as one of the best. Christal clear and tight live sound.
Great gig. We were so fortunate to have some great songwriters active on the 70/80s UK music scene. With Difford and Tillbrook, Elvis Costello and Graham Parker being the first to come to mind.
Lovely. I've seen Squeeze here in Pittsburgh 5 times. Love to see them in Blighty.
Would have liked to have been there, looks like a great place for a concert. Squeeze are as good as ever.
I’ve watched so many live videos of Squeeze and this has got to be the best one
Octave harmonies are so simple but perfect for Squeeze!
One of my all-time favorite bands. ❤️❤️
I'd have given anything to be there. So fantastic.
Superb band and always on top form when live on stage
Thank you so much for posting this. This show rekindled my love for Squeeze. I hope you will check out my favorite version of Goodbye Girl : "Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze): Goodbye Girl live in Edinburgh Scotland 2018"
Keyboard work on Slap & Tickle is bloody incredible!
Why has it taken me 40 years or more to discover Squeeze? Where have I been all these years? This is brilliant stuff! Wunderbar!
I first watched this concert around 12 years ago and it was and still is one of the best arrangements I've ever seen. Tilbrook has to be one of the best front men guitarists in the world.
Absoulety brilliant concert...well done Squeeze Dougie Dowerin town Western Australia
Absolutely amazing, loved listening to it. Thank you for sharing.
Thank heavens for the you tube archive. Growing up in South London in the 70/80s Squeeze were emblematic. Still quality, not that the crowd got it. ❤
There`s Lennon & McCartney, but there also is Difford & Tilbrook. I rest my case.
Lennon & McCartney wrote both music and lyrics. Plus they had Harrison writing even more classics. Case closed.
First band I ever saw live at the Hammersmith Odeon...loved them ever since
What a performance. Pure musicianship. Great songs and lyrics. This is how it should be done 👍🍷
Oh man, the harmonies!!!!!
Unbelievable concert and band!
I can’t believe I found this! I was at this show; just happened to be walking by the park and heard them playing. I thought it might be a cover band, not many free shows pop up, and was I surprised! Good show, but it sounds better taped. The speakers and sound were crap.
Takes you right back to your youth, Bruce Willis on drums is a nice touch 😎👍🤣
Bloody hell! That's my manor! How the Jesus Christmas did I miss this?
Love these guys. Best British Band since The Beatles!
one of my favorite bands growing up
What a very great band they are.
Outstanding, simply outstanding 👏👏👏👏, one is old and not up to date with technology, one has an old gas and steam phone, 😩😩 ones love got one a new phone with a thing called Spotify for Xmas. . . . . Been squeezing ever since . . 😁😁 nail in thy heart on constant replay 🍺🍺🍺 cheers from new🥝🥝🥝Zealand, cmon arsenal 🥳🥳🥳
Amazing! They sound like the first time I heard them
Amazing how Glenn's voice is exactly the same as all those years ago. Fantastic!
Worst audience ever. Here they were watching rock/pop royalty in squeeze and they might as well have been in the queue to return their library books.
they're Brits - they'd rather be in some dismal dark pub drinking warm 6% lager, smoking cigarettes and bitching about their retched existence
@@richardchmiel3074 actually the audience (if u can call them that) are American I believe.
Thats at 42nd street in NYC most prob didn’t know them. Cant believe I didn’t know about it. Would have been there.
PBS broadcast this, the home of Sesame Street. I’m awfully glad they did but at the same time I am sort of feeling my age at this moment (lol).😁
Is that Bruce Willis from Fifth Element playing the drums??? Wonderful concert, his voice is still great after all these years✌️😎
Missing Jools and Gilson (and Cool For Cats and Black Coffee In Bed ) but apart from that, excellent!
One of the great bands.
omg this was fantastic. miss those days..............
I seriously dont understand how under appreciated Squeeze are. One of the best and uniquely British bands ever . Up the Junction, pulling muscles from a shell, Labelled with love and even Cool for cats. Steve and Glenn fucking amazing talents and Jools Holland too. Obviously not in this beautifully poignant song.
Love Glen and Squeeze.
1986 at the Greek in Berkeley, CA. The concert of the decade.
the Karte chop keyboard!!!! Hey Now, Lovin' it!!!
I like the crowd getting bigger and bigger as the songs go on.
Ii saw squeeze in 1985 at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. 2nd row right in front of Joel’s Holland. He was so funny 😂.
Wow Glenn, that voice of yours .... L O V E
Labelled with Love is in my top 2 favorites
This is awesome!
The best neigbourhood concert EVER !
To be able to perform like that after almost 4 decades is, to put it mildly, unfathomable!
Nice to see Squeeze again.
I never saw them live, but love their early work.
They tour too much, not to be seeing them, worth the price of admission, for sure.
@@soysaucefool I am sure about the touring, but with this virus will it change their schedules?
@@geo386 this virus is so depressing. They were actually touring with Hall and Oates this fall. Which probably won't happen now. I saw them last September with X. Hopefully this will all taper off soon.
Some fantastic place is a great underrated album Babylon and on ,East side story , Frank , Argybargy , cool for cats even Play The knowledge has a few great songs 2017
Great stuff !!!
Great band. And to have Bruce Willis as the drummer is a bonus.
andrew Brown Damn, ruin my dreams why don’t you. And there was me really, really believing Bruce Willis was a drummer for Squeeze.
"I'm an egg, in the teeth of a shark"....
What energy, Awesome.
That's a terrific version of Tempted!
Damn fine band ! Now as in the 80's when I heard them and was knocked out, they are vocally and instrumentally as sharp and crisp as any great English Band, - better than most, I would say better than all because Squeeze doesn't posture, they just play.
Brilliant performance 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Aww. Hi G, & S T. This is a great show. xxx
Just gorgeous!
What great songwriting. Had no idea!
Fantastic thanks for uploading
Can this be purchased on dvd ???
Superb!
From bar, to street, to bookie..damn
Squeeze has always been criminally under-rated as a band and as musicians!
there have always been wankers going around saying everything is underrated.
I couldn't agree with you more!
Only to the criminally underrated.
I never understood why they weren’t bigger than they were.
Best Songwriters of the 80s.
