Is Moff Gideon Force Sensitive? Star Wars Theory

- A question keeps coming up regarding Moff Gideon and that's if he is potentially Force sensitive. This theory originally began after an interview with the actor Giancarlo Esposito, where he mentioned that Maybe Gideon is one of ….the ones...hinting at some Force Sensitivity.
With Gideons apparent knowledge of everything going on around him, his skill with a saber, the fact he seemingly wants to appear as another Vader, while spearheading an experiment regarding force sensitive blood, leads me to believe at the very least this idea has legitimate merit and that this show is asking us to contemplate the idea. Even the actor himself suggested it.
So what do you think of this concept? Would this diminish Gideon as a villain? Or make him more interesting? After all, he somehow escaped or faked his execution, so there is bound to be more information soon on his full backstory from the great purge, to his status as imperial warlord.

I love this theory. Would it make sense to theorise that Gideon took Grogu’s Midichlorians to make himself more force sensitive?
It's a possibility I considered. But he might be fearful of turning into a snoke in a tube haha.

yeah. Gideon says he already has what he wanted from Grogu, and him being willing to kill himself to prevent being captured by a Jedi means he very well could be working for someone else rather than just himself, and that someone could be Palpatine.
He got captured, but assuming what he was doing wasn't just for himself but that he was working for someone, he got what he was trying to do.
That would be cool. I would like to see him fight Luke. Plus a rematch against Mando 😎👍🏼

If he’s naturally Force sensitive, I’d be fine with it, however if he somehow used Grogu to make himself Force sensitive .... eh. That’s why I hate pickled Snoke and just being able to make a Force user. Also, I like Gideon because he isn’t your typical Force sensitive dark side user, but just a calm, calculated and menacing Imperial leader

I've been holding on to this theory since the end of Season 1, and I will continue to hold on till it's confirmed on-screen that he isn't
I like this theory, idk where I saw it but I remember seeing somewhere that some like Rey and Finn can be dormant force sensitive and that it needs to be “unlocked” in a way so I think it is safe to assume that there might be some force sensitive who are on the low end and may or be able to levitate objects but may have basic force enhancing abilities such as clairvoyance. Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

As for Gideon not being a former Inquisitor... ISB would be a convenient cover story, actually. There's no way that Gideon became a Moff and didn't get the attention of either Palpatine or Vader if he truly is Force sensitive. Vader could have trained Gideon at one point (which explains how Gideon can handle a lightsaber) and seeded in ISB as a way to keep tabs on that part of the Empire.
This also means that Gideon would be the first Force-sensitive to get his back end kicked in by someone who is not Force-sensitive since General Grievous was unleashed upon the Jedi during the Clone Wars.

since this is most likely your last video this year, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate what you're contributing to the Star Wars community/fandom. Stumbled across your channel earlier this year and I can't stress enough how refreshing it was to find a channel committed to Star Wars content that wasn't about click bait vitriol, simply because that's what generated the most views, esp. pre-Mandalorian.
Your passion shines through on every video you make and I really hope you can keep it up in 2021, because channels like yours are what the fandom desperately needs - in spite of how frustrating I'd imagine it can be to produce this kind of content when the fandom is so divided.
At any rate, I'm gonna continue watching, because your channel reminds of how less "hard-core" fans like me can and should fit in with this community as well - while many other channels oftentimes turn me off with their sense of entitlement and gate-keeping.

That means a lot! Its wild times just being a fan right now. I think its fun to watch critical videos for sure but it can become a kind of cycle of negative focused videos rather than doubling down on whats interesting and cool in the current moment. Really appreciate the comment!

Olga K.11/3 Maybe it’s always been there but he just now starts making connections after seeing Grogu, Ahsoka, and Luke use it. Din reminds me of an old school Star Wars video game character.

Yes, I do think he's Force-Sensitive. I've wondered about this since Chapter 7, where Din, Cara and Greef brought an empty pram to The Client in their plot to kill him. But Gideon, in his call to The Client, told him to "check again," knew that Grogu was actually not there.
Considering the Rule of Two, it seems Gideon has aspirations of resurrecting the Emperor so he can be his apprentice. He doesn't have the Sith knowledge or the Midichlorians to be the master.
I think it’s cooler if he’s not sensitive but just wields melee weapons like a boss. Not everyone in SW needs to be force sensitive.

I wish the story had been him as a wannabe emperor experimenting on Grogu to see if he could turn himself force sensitive. Now it looks like he was a look lieutenant to the fledgling First Order or Thrawn.
I have a feeling he has a long game. He attempted suicide but that was likely thinking that Luke was a dark sider ready to kill all onboard. Considering his age he was likely active somehow during the Clone Wars and his steps up Imperial Hierarchy do include him increasing his possible force sensitivity and reforging the Empire.
Happy New Year Everybody. We made it, we got through with it, we still had some really decent entertainment not just from Star Wars and we have learned to make the best of things with whatever we were able to do but we also have a lot of things to be grateful as well including something as simple as a roof over our heads, food on the table and hopefully enough money to buy what we need and find what we want just for pleasure. To those that have been going through things a lot harder than you, me and most of us in this comment thread pray for them and wish them peace, recovery and strength going forward. Think of it this way, the year of 2020 in terms of Star Wars is only just helping us to really look forward to what is ahead and we don't even know what most of it looks like and that's a good thing. (Raises glass) May we enter this year with an abundance of new and interesting possibilities, civilization gradually coming back to normal (Re-openings of course), the vaccine, and may we all go into 2021 with added wisdom, patience and a newfound sense of inner balance and peace.
I really love Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon and I hope we get to see a lot more of him in at least one of the mandalorian timeline shows because of the big problems I have with the The Mandalorian is that I feel like I don't know anything about anything. Who are the characters, what are they actually doing? etc. And sure we're only 2 seasons in and they probably want there to be a lot of mystery surrounding this stuff and then they've got 3 other shows that will lead into one story.
I think I'll like it all a bit more once everything is out and I have the full picture but I think that its just kinda weird they've decided to tell us next to nothing about what's actually happening or why its important. Its mostly just dot point info with questions at the end.
Commenting for the sake of just helping the algorithm a little, king. After watching this video I certainly would be interested in the idea of him being force sensitive. But I'd like to keep it to just base premonition.
Something seems more badass about being one step ahead rather than him whipping around the space magic like Luke, Rey or Anakin.

Moff Gideon is incredible, but I'm not sure why you think he's some master duelist, AT-AT. If you slow down the fight, all he really does is hack and slash at Mando in rapid succession, like any of us non-force users probably would in a lightsaber duel. He manages 1 or 2 parries, then he's handily taken out by Mando.
What's more impressive though is that it looks like Giancarlo Esposito wasn't using a stunt double at all for that fight - such a badass.

I'm glad you pointed out that Force sensitivity is on a spectrum. Just because you have it, doesn't mean you'll be any good at it. Sienna from Lost Stars was Force sensitive, but she was so low on the spectrum that all she got was this powerful sense of danger from Vader, and I mean more than usual, and when she briefly laid eyes on Palpatine, he felt like some eldritch abomination that shouldn't even exist. I think Gideon would be close to Sienna's level, maybe a little higher, enough to give him some passive buffs.

I don't think he is force sensitive, because it seems they are making Thrawn main villain of this era, so it would be little bit strange if the "second bad" would have force powers. But I don't know, it would be cool tho
I'm curious if thrawn will even appear in Mando. I feel like that's being held for Ahsoka, but I could be wrong.
