Hi travelers, I am here for your Boston episodes. I love what you did in this video. Coming from New York, to Boston, it is automatic that you do a rivalry show. With baseball, it is Boston vs. NY. With the Celtics, it is vs.NY and LA. And the Bruins, it is vs. NY and Philly. Also for the future, there is the Rose Kennedy Greenway and the Boston Harbor Walk. For a city that is on the smaller side, we have a lot to offer…. ❤😊😂. Thanks and bye 👋.
I joined too late for those cooking videos - I’ll definitely go back to see them! And thank you for another awesome video. You do such a great job of not only sharing your experience, but sharing it with specific info for rv travelers. I really appreciate that!
Thanks for the revisit to New York City and Boston. I used to do business there and I really don’t wanna go back but it was a nice trip. Keep up the great videos thank you. Thomyt
Watching your videos, I miss my RAM 2500 diesel. After we bought our Rockwood 2608BS, we bought a RAM 2500. After we sold the trailer, I really did not have a good reason to drive a crew cab with an 8' foot box. So now I have a RAM 1500 with a Hemi 5.7 and a 5'6" box. I named him Shorty. Chris sure is a good driver. Really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks again, and safe travels.
What an awesome set of videos. I got to enjoy Boston and New York City with one of my daughter’s college field hockey teams in 2017. Seeing their response to standing at the site of the World Trade Center was something else.
This is a beautiful city. I think, if I had to choose a big city, I would pick this over NYC for sure. Great video. Thanks so much for sharing these travels.
Thanks for taking us along. Used to travel to Boston at least once a month from California. We liked to eat at the Durgin Park in Quincy Market where they cut off your tie and loved to argue with the customers. This place is now closed as is The Hilltop restaurant on RT 1. They had great steaks, seafood, and lobster pie there.
Thanks so much for sharing your adventure. I've been to NYC only once. That was in 1971,and Times Square was much different then. As a young GI headed to Germany, it was quite the adventure.
The bridges here have really sucked. Fun fact *sometimes* in NY State you will see a sign that says 12'8" then a sign that says "Actual Height" 13'8" and THEN 2 more signs that say 12'8". We have learned that in some towns in NY will mark Bridges a foot LOWER due to snow accumulation. We completely stopped and held traffic until someone walked up and said it IS 13'8" and ignore the 3 other signs that say 12'8"... it was a nail biter We are almost done on East Coast and loved your series over here as well.
Ha, that would have been STRESSFULL! Oh man, they make it even more difficult sometimes than it really needs to be! The East Coast was great...but I think we're ready for the West Coast again. 🤣 How tall is your new RV?
@IreneIronTravels we are 13 7 but we can adjust down to 13 6" because we have air ride. It's been a bit of a challenge. We hit some stuff on Cape May ferry...lol... just some insulation on pipes. Its just RV Life... We are heading west for our last event in Vegas in Oct and we are going to balloon festival in NM. Might see you down the road.
Another great story telling time from you all. You four are MOVING!!! Looks like you had a great time in NYC. Great food, great sightseeing and always great people seeing to be had there. We would really like to try going to NYC with the RV, however I know if we have as much courage as you all. We really appreciate this video series as you all travel up the east coast up to Canada and Newfoundland. Be safe out here you guys!
Nice. We stayed in hotel near your RV site in NJ when we visited last year. Great spot for a base. One thing I like about our Ford (F150) NAV system is that it is RV aware. You can program it with your RV length, height, etc. And in theory when it sets a route it will avoid low bridges, tight turns, and narrow roads. It also gives audible notifications of upcoming bridges. Not sure if RAM offers the same on their NAV?
We been there, and Yes we went through the same stress, with 13.4” high, no scapes on the top of A/C,, Once was enough, not going back, Plus we had over $ 600 in Toll Roads.
My suggestion is to get RV SoftStarts. Like a previous person said, you should be able to run 1 A/C on 30 amps. Ivran 1 A/C on 20 amps with my SoftStart. Good luck and safe travels!
I live near Philly but my oldest son lives just outside Boston - about a mile or so from the city border. I was at Fenway for the first time on Mother’s day 2024 - looks like it was about 3 weeks before you both were there. I feel in love with Fenway!!!! We could walk to it. It has to be the best ballpark in America and the fans were great ( maybe because they had their moms with them lol). I was even cheering for the Red Sox’s but I keep my eye on the score board for the league to make sure my Phillies were winning 😊. I have really enjoyed your Philly-NYC- Boston series. Oh and not to forget Cape May/ the Jersey shore. Thanks so much for your time and great videoing.
As a college freshman I lived just down the street on Commonwealth Avenue and walked by Fenway Park every evening on my way to my part time job! Later year took my boys to a Red Sox game and got them their Red Sox hats!
As somebody born and raised in Boston, whose blood is probably at least 10% cannoli, Mike's and Modern are very good and delicious. However, if you have to add something to your next, "next time" list, I would honestly add Bova's Bakery to the list. It's just the best.
Oh you CAN leave that awning out. You just may have to pay. That wind and rain reminded us of our camping trip at the end of April to Oregon Inlet. The Sunday night we arrived, the wind and rain were pretty rough.
Another great video. I bet Fenway Park was one hell of a tour. Next time you will have to go see where the BEST hockey player ever played. Thanks for sharing and stay away from those pucker bridges the rest of your trip.
@@IreneIronTravels Speaking of the low bridges, I got caught at one in the big truck Chicago on Lakeshore at5 'oclock on a Friday. I was shocked when a Chicago policeman showed up and made all the people behind me back up so I could back up and turn around. That was a harrowing experience...
Thanks for showing a bit of Boston. I've always thought I would enjoy visiting, but haven't made it yet. I tried a canolo in Sicily, but didn't like it at all. I thought I bit into lard! Sicily did have amazing marzipan pastries and cookies. Loved those and all the other foods I tried.
"Take the next right to get on the Merritt Parkway Take the next right.... Rerouting now....." 13'-7" is a bridge with a lot of height! We encountered bridges with 10 clearance on lesser highways. Enjoy NE
I got to see ball game there in 1991 it was pretty cool. Was waiting for concession guys to be walking around selling COLD BEER HERE. But they didn't you had to miss some of game to run back to concession stand.
You Guy's gave me the Chills being in my neighborhood of Boston. The Italian northend of Boston is a beautiful place.Yes Mike's pastry's is number one. Fenway park is one of the most amazing places to be. I So much history. ARE YOU Planning on making it to the Hershey RV show this year.
Did you stay at Gateway to Cape Cod? We are planning a trip to Maine from Virginia next Summer and plan on staying there and doing a day trip to Boston on the way back to Virgina. As always, you have great content. You have given us many good tips! Thank you!
Many don't realize why the NE has so many low bridges and parkways that prohibit trucks and rv's. Look up Parks and Roads Commissioner Robert Moses. Read The Power Broker, it explains his history. It's pretty wild.
Yes Time Square is crazy! Last time we were there, we took our (then ) young teens to the Harry Potter exhibit. Once was enough for me. Used to drive to New England regularly back in the 1980's. The bridges were old and low then, and I doubt that has changed. There are many beautiful areas up there, hope to get back that way before too long. Anyways, Thanks for the tour of NY, now I don't need to go there any time soon. 😊
Hey guys! The black and gold bandit here. I hope you remember me. I just want to say I've been enjoying watching you go through New York City and your journey up to East Coast. Was going to put out an invite that if you come across Northern Pennsylvania across i-80 when you hit the west side a little town called Grove City if you get near there give me a call. I'd like to hook up with you to be great. Keep the great content coming I really enjoy it take care and be safe out there.

But, we are no longer on the East Coast... We traveled so fast our videos are pretty far behind and this was back in early Summer. We actually went up to Canada this year as well. But, if we are ever in that area we'll reach out! Thanks for the note!

You made the right choice not going over the George Washington bridge. It cost us over $100 and was horrible. It was fun seeing our trailer in your New York videos
Love the videos and now that your in my neck of the woods its even more fun to see your reactions. Question on the truck. Now that you have had it for a while and put many miles on it towing? Coming form Ford to Ram and it being a short box dually. What are your thoughts? Still love it? Any challenges? Do you wish it was a long box? Would you buy it again?
Aa native Vermonter if you get into Vermont you will find some main roads that just don't have enough clearance. Our 5th wheel was 13'2" and we could not travel on some of our state roads!
When you said Paul Revere at the house with all those kids I thought of the Beastie Boys. I can't believe you did that at the end! LMAO! P.S. I wore the tape out when I was young.
Those low bridges are nerve wracking out East. We ran into one in DC because we were rerouted due to construction. Talk about almost having a heart attack. The bridge said 13 and we are 13’4”. People were backing up behind us but we made it through somehow so not sure if it was mislabeled 🤷🏻♀️
My list of places to never go is topped by New York City. It’s in places 1-5. Do yourself a favor and head west and find yourself in Letchworth State Park in about 4 weeks.
We use a chain lock like this amzn.to/3Mv9noZ don’t use a flexible cable that can be cut easily. A metal u lock works too, but the chain is easier to use.
RVLife GPS routed us over the George Washington bridge. As mentioned, it was $95 and stressful. The GPS then routed us onto a parkway. Those bridges are 10’ or less. Our 5th wheel is 13’ 1”. Not a great plan. We called RV life and they requested that we provide them with the location of the low bridges on the NYC parkways. Really? AllStays will show you where the low bridges are. Hopefully, RV life has a subscription.
The reason you saw so many low bridges is you were on parkways, which don't allow trailers or big trucks. Matter of fact, many parkways don't allow pickup trucks unless they have the proper registration for that state. Ct has their "combination" plates and limits weight. NY also has a different plate and a weight limit. Having those plates does NOT allow you to operate in the other state. Also, 13 ft 6 in is the max height for all trucks without a special permit. Those stray marks on the bridges are from heavy equipment and such used for road repair, which are sometimes exempt from restrictions. (but not idiots) If you run a trailer in New England, you need to follow truck routes on limited access highways. Beware, many RR bridges on secondary streets are in the 11-12 ft range because they were built over 100 years ago when trucks were smaller. Know your total height and stay alert!
@IreneIronTravels Boston looked so cool. I need to get there. That Fenway tour looked awesone. I was in New York a couple of years back for 4 days. Lot to see. Did all the "touristy" things. Being on top of the rock does have one of the best views!
Great tour. Thank you 🙏. I was a little sad with the Fenway Park tour because I’m losing my team in Oakland and it’s a little tough. Major league baseball hasn’t treated Oakland very well during these past few years and they’re allowing this billionaire to take our team away from us, not good. I do have great memories of the Oakland A’s, Winning 3 World Series while I was in grade school, sixth, seventh and eighth grade and watching the great teams of the 80s, but my team is gone and it’s sad.
Don't go to Boston Commons on April 20th unless you like the smell of weed. Use to be one of the largest mass protests. Looked like downtown LA on a high smog day. Any truck travel to the north east needs to be done between July and October when they have the majority of the road repairs complete. Otherwise you need an overlander camper and a high lift suspension on your truck.
Hello! We stayed at the Gateway to Cape Cod park. It's a thousand trails and it's located about an hour from Boston, Marthas Vineyard, and visiting the cape. Not a bad park , but there might be a few a lot closer to Boston for you. 👍
I have noticed that you carry DEF in the bed of your truck. Voice of experience this can over heat the DEF and create a costly repair. Please save yourself some grief and carry it in the basement of your RV.
I purchased a float tester and test each container before I use it. Allowing it to overheat cost me $600. So now I carry it in the RV storage area and no problem so far. Also we really enjoy your videos. Will you be at the Hershey RV Show. We plan to be there on Thursday.
@LifeIsAJourney4Us we have the 6’4” bed and use the Gator ETX trifold. They make them for the 8ft as well. It’s a good less expensive option. amzn.to/4gee8kH

Thank you, appreciate that! We really enjoy the cities too and love sharing it!
We’ve just recently discovered Tajin seasoning. We love it on sweet corn, scrambled eggs.

I visited NY back in 79 when stationed at a NY radar site
😂 yes went there in the 70s they can keep it
Yeah we have had some issues with rv trip wizard also. We ate having second thoughts of continuing use of it😢
Love the videos and now that your in my neck of the woods its even more fun to see your reactions.
Our 5th wheel was 13'2" and we could not travel on some of our state roads!
its wild to see county rd on your video i live on that road did you guys enjoy rochester i love the channel take care
When you said Paul Revere at the house with all those kids I thought of the Beastie Boys. I can't believe you did that at the end! LMAO! P.S. I wore the tape out when I was young.
🤣
Nice Beasties!
Red Hat. Got it.
Lots of extra snap pads there. Plan on driving I-10 thru Louisiana? That’s where I’ve lost 2.
Whoa!! 😳
My list of places to never go is topped by New York City. It’s in places 1-5. Do yourself a favor and head west and find yourself in Letchworth State Park in about 4 weeks.
What do you use to lock up your bikes? We just got e-bikes and nervous about leaving them. We live about 35 minutes from your campsite on Cape Cod
We use a chain lock like this amzn.to/3Mv9noZ don’t use a flexible cable that can be cut easily. A metal u lock works too, but the chain is easier to use.
No way! Y’all didn’t age!!
Braver than me riding a bike in NYC! 😅
Oh no! 😬
Know your total height and stay alert!
i am cringing as you are cutting the cannoli's. how dare you! lol. love the channel!
🤣 Me too!! But that last one cut nicely!! 🤣
@IreneIronTravels Boston looked so cool. I need to get there. That Fenway tour looked awesone. I was in New York a couple of years back for 4 days. Lot to see. Did all the "touristy" things. Being on top of the rock does have one of the best views!
Okay 👍
😊
Oh my god, do not go over the George Washington bridge! We made that mistake and paid $98.00 each way. I was so pissed!
I wish Chris had shared the back story as to why she's a Red Sox fan.
Why you guy's dont make a video about how you two met you are such a lovely couple, when do you even fight? haha❤
Hey guys! We are headed that way next fall, and wanted to know what campground you stayed at for Boston?
Hello! We stayed at the Gateway to Cape Cod park. It's a thousand trails and it's located about an hour from Boston, Marthas Vineyard, and visiting the cape. Not a bad park , but there might be a few a lot closer to Boston for you. 👍
@@IreneIronTravels Thank you so much for this information. Keep up the good work, we always look forward to your videos.
I am going to blame that rap on the coffee Cannoli.
😂
How come your SNAPPADS are not installed?
Did something happen? I lost interest once you left Florida. I will check back in after you leave the East Coast
Mario M "Kimono" bridge...😂
🤣 oops
@@IreneIronTravels I died laughing. I'm originally from Boston. I hope you got to try Ernestos Pizza on Salem St. So good!
I have noticed that you carry DEF in the bed of your truck. Voice of experience this can over heat the DEF and create a costly repair. Please save yourself some grief and carry it in the basement of your RV.
Good call! I should be careful in the summertime. I do keep it outta the sunlight and try to cycle through it. 👍
I purchased a float tester and test each container before I use it. Allowing it to overheat cost me $600. So now I carry it in the RV storage area and no problem so far. Also we really enjoy your videos. Will you be at the Hershey RV Show. We plan to be there on Thursday.
@davidrollins1679 that’s good to know! I’ll move where I store it. Unfortunately we won’t be at Hershey!
what is your bed length? And what is the tonneau cover you use? We are trying to find a tonneau that will be low enough for a fiver.
@LifeIsAJourney4Us we have the 6’4” bed and use the Gator ETX trifold. They make them for the 8ft as well. It’s a good less expensive option. amzn.to/4gee8kH
