Just a FYI. We never charge our e-bikes in the RV, always outside. God forbid they were to ever catch fire you could loose your rv. Please consider charging outside only.
Hello! 😊 I understand your concern and I didn’t show this, but I don’t charge them while driving, overnight, or if we’re gone. So I keep an eye on it. But, with that said, I don’t feel there is an imminent danger in charging batteries inside a RV. Just like we charge laptops, phones, cameras, the RV batteries, etc inside all day long. Just curious, do you guys charge anything inside your RV?
When the East coast pine forests are in bloom, the yellow clouds of pollen cover everything! It tends to be a little sticky, so if you let it sit for a while, it is a pain to wash off. When the pollen is that thick, it always gives me a sore throat. While I love my coffee in the morning, I find hot tea with honey and lemon soothes my throat better than anything else. Ahh, there is nothing like a challenging parking spot to make you feel like a newbie again. I hope you enjoyed the area!
Thank You Guys for a GREAT video. I LOVE your balance on this video! I really appreciate Arron doing repairs . You guys are real and we love that. We have been full time for 2 years and can relate, hopefully we will see you guys out on the road sometime!
Thanks! All the fast paced travel and site seeing caught up with us and sometimes you just need to get a few things done! But it sure is a great lifestyle eh! Appreciate you guys watching!
If you drill a couple of holes in the side of the tray, you can use motorcycle tie down straps to keep the bikes upright. I use to transport my motorcycle inside my van that way. Once the curtain was pulled, you couldn't see anything in the back, out of the eyes of those wishing to cash in on thieving.
Great attitude for both of you dealing with a challenging parking of your rig. Better to be patient spending time to accomplish the task, especially when you’re not feeling well! Great job!
I like the left lane on bridges also. If you’re in the right lane and you get a gust of wind with no guard rail, you get the idea. In the left lane, at least you have a chance of keeping the rig on the bridge of it flips!
We get a thick layer of pine pollen like that here too. They say it is not that bad for allergies. It is too big. They say the pollen you can't see is the stuff that wrecks you.
Always hook up with the 5th wheel plate is a little higher than the pin, you want to be gently lifting the trailer as you hook to make sure the pin and jaw will align correctly. It gets easier.
I always get a lobster roll on the other side of that bridge ❤ Have driven over it twice in our Class C. Right lane. Nerve wracking! Pine pollen shows up on radar in Colorado.
oh my yes. That northeast spring pollen can be fun fun for sure. That was definitely a tight back in, but you did it and that is what counts. Always best to take your time and not do any damage for sure. Once in awhile when things are not quite where you want them, it does make it easier just to pull out and restart the process. It is amazing how even with lots of experience backing up, every now and then every one of us looks like a raw amateur. I do think this is at least part of the reason why cold beer was invented... continued safe travels...
New sub here!! I Love the Cape! Spent 3 weeks at a place nearby called "Done Roaming" back in the summer of 22. Nice small little rv park with a private lake!!
To help you make parking much easer in tight areas you need a RV parking MULE, that has multiple hitch locations., such as picking the RV up between the axles so you can move the whole unit sideways. I know sounds weird but if you ever saw one work, you’d love it. OK I said my peace
Thanks so much for the water filter replacement alternative. We have the same Clear Source and always have sticker shock with those dang filters. Appreciate it.
Old Chatham RV Park is not the best. We were in the same area as you were about 5 years ago and getting our 32’ travel trailer in there was very difficult. And it felt like your awning was going to touch your neighbor the sites were so close. We now go to Sweetwater Forest Family Campground and we like it much better; much more space to maneuver and distance between sites significantly greater.
I'd lose my mind if I had to obsess over a fifth wheel hitch as much as Aaron does. Good quality hitches are built to handle a good amount of abuse. I'm glad I bought a B&W.
FYI, next time pull forward and towards the right. Then you could have done a modified blindsided back in and got closer to the sewer hookup. Being a former CDL driver, I never care how long I took to back into a sight as long as my truck and trailer are safe. Over time you'll get faster and learn new ways of taking on different back in situations. Have fun out there and be safe!
Hello to you both from the UK we have been watching for about a year and really enjoy the content. Love the RV and there are very few fifth wheels in the UK, we are caravanners and 8.5 metres or 28 feet + the car at 17 feet is enough for us. Have a fabulous week, keep the content coming and the lobsters. All the best, Steve
Look into the mopar rear bed step. It attaches and tucks up under the driver side rear bumper. There's already mounting points for it so easy install. It's about 200 bucks. Got one for my RAM and use it all the time. Love it
You can find it on the jungle site for about $89. Look for ram rear bumper step. It's a China knockoff but the quality is excellent and exactly like the high dollar RAM one. I love it.
@Itsa_Mea - Tickled my funny bone with your "jungle site" reference. I found the spinner carry-on bag I wanted on that site last year, but bought it under their "used, like new" option. Still had the tags on it, and I saved quite a bit of money, too.
I am so sad that I missed you guys while you were here!! You were camping a couple of roads down from one of my Early Ed Centers that I Direct. The others are over the bridge, which by the way, I put my hazards on and go right up the middle like the 18 wheelers. One time I didn’t, a truck passed me and pushed me into that wall which my tires scraped. Two trips later, both tires on that side exploded because they were weakened. Not fun!!! Niether was the pollen this year. It is the worst that I have seen here in a long time. I hope you come back to the Cape, would love to meet up. Safe travels.
Yellow pine pollen can be overwhelming some years. We live in a pine forest and it varies in volume year to year. Like most situations you just learn to adapt. Take care.
Makes sense! The only thing I can compare it to back in the Midwest growing up was the cottonwood trees. Some years it looked like it was snowing and that cotton fluff was everywhere! But, notably much easier to deal with than pollen!
That pollen was nuts. 13 7 equals the pucker factor. That was a tough spot to get in especially when Chris was sick. Looking forward to see Martha's Vineyard too.
That is Pine pollen. It is worse as you get further north especially in Maine. This spring was particularly bad. In fact we could see clouds of it wafting through the air and looking like low hanging storm clouds. It is not usually quite this bad.
Great video. While tree pollen is one of the three most common causes of seasonal allergies according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), not all pollen is created equal. In fact, the yellow pollen that you see is not likely what is causing your seasonal allergy symptoms. The reason why yellow pollen is not commonly a seasonal allergy culprit is because yellow pollen is much heavier than other tree pollens. This means that when conifer trees release their spores, the pollen primarily falls straight to the ground (or on anything in the area as anyone who has made the mistake of parking under a pine tree in the spring can tell you!) Also, pine pollen is much larger than other tree pollen so that it cannot get up into the nasal passages as easily as smaller pollens. Finally, pine pollen has a waxy coat on it which prevents the protein inside of the pollen from leading to allergic reactions. That being said, even though pine tree pollen is not often responsible for seasonal allergy symptoms, if you have come into contact with the yellow dust, do your best not to touch your face, particularly your eyes, as that can cause itchiness and irritation. Also, geographically you’re not on the Cape you’re actually on the south shore, Massachusetts. Once you go over the canal you are officially on the Cape. Keep the videos coming, and I really like your camera work. Safe travels
Camped one time at Stone Mountain State Park by Atlanta, GA. in the spring time and the pollen was 3 times as bad as you showed there. There was a film on everything after only a day or two.
Pine pollen is so difficult! We have it in GA, and, being from IL, it was a new thing for us to deal with. When you can see it wafting like clouds in the air, you know it's BAD. UGH.
We were from South Jersey growing up. Nasty pollen. Than we moved just west of Atlanta by 30 miles, and WOW. West GA pollen is in a league of its own. Not to bad here in Houston
Gonna check out the lite 2's. I have the regular 2. Just started watching the video. More comments coming. Pine pollen was real bad here in the Yoop also. When the wind would blow the pollen would flow.
We visit 4 campgrounds around mid cape. They all were terrible. We stayed in Falmouth at the sun retreats witch we found a nice campground. They have tard and grass sites with slab or stone for the picnic tables. 2 nice pools one for adults .nice playground an a nice arcade. We booked for next year in Sep. Nice dog park the premium sites have a nice fire pit with chairs. We like mid cape but could not find a campground that was nice and the one that was OK was in denisport but we could not get it because there all turning to seasonal. Been going to the cape since 1981 and we usually rent cottages but this year bought a camper and we camped all summer. Sep. is when we go to the Cape. This winter taking our 29' camper and heading to Florida after Xmas.
If you are still making travel plans try to get Hampton Beach State park in NH. Salisbury Beach State Campground in MA is a good alternative for that area.
I think it was just bad timing this year.... It seemed we hit spring everywhere as we went up the East Coast starting in April in Georgia. It was really nice weather though and beautiful landscape. But, yes allergies!
Pine pollen is late May to early June, which is when they were there. Go to the Cape in July to avoid the pollen. School is out, though, so you won't be able to avoid the summer vacationers.🙁
Hey there! We don't really ever have a trip map unfortunately. We've always kept it pretty fluid, change up plans as needed, and pretty much wing our driving days with checking routes before we leave. We stayed at a lot of Thousand Trails parks on the east coast and we did make it up to Maine and stayed at Narrows Too campground by Bar Harbor. I guess YT is our trip map after the fact.... lol. Sorry we could be more of help, but appreciate ya watching!
Probably overblown, but the (lithium?) batteries in some electric bikes have been combusting everywhere. Particularly while charging. But I assume you've done the research, and these particular batteries are not sus.
It’s a valid point for sure! I actually don’t like charging small lithium batteries overnight or while driving. I didn’t show it, but I unplugged them before driving and waited till we got to our next site. I saw an RV fire started by a charging lithium tool battery in the pass through once and I can’t stop thinking about it!

It’s an automatic slider 👍 So when you drive straight it’s in the normal position and when you turn ( going forward or backward) it moves back automatically! Pullrite Superglide!
@tim9324 I considered the BW as well at first, but after hearing of people hitting their back window because they didn’t engage the slider… we went with the auto Superglide. We do have a video on it if you want to check it out ua-cam.com/video/-y5H6NCfvgA/v-deo.htmlsi=US-CRwWHNSlacvsV
So like so many other channels are dealing with I came to this week’s episode but found I wasn’t subscribed. I know Endless RV and other channels have been dealing with same issue.
@@IreneIronTravels a couple of weeks. You made me homesick when you crossed the Bourne bridge and showed the Cape Cod bushes. I used to cross that bridge a lot. Don't muss the railroad bridge. I think it's the oldest of its kind. Ask around, they will tell you about it and give you directions!!
Do you use a water filter while filling your fresh water tank? How long on average does it take to drain the gray and black tanks and fill the fresh water tank?
Yes, the water filter is always connected. So for city hookup and also filling the tanks. It only takes a couple minutes to empty our 53 gallon black tank and then a couple more for the two 53 gallon gray. But filling up the 98 fresh takes about 45 minutes!
@@IreneIronTravels We’re comparing the ORV 22FQS and 21RWS Back Country for full time living. Is there usually a line of other RVs behind you waiting for 50-55 minutes while you drain and fill tanks?
Yes, sometimes! Dumping the tanks is pretty fast ( like I said 5-10 minutes max) , but flushing the black tank can take longer. But you don’t need to do that every time. But , yes filling fresh is what it is . Sometimes you can pull a head and free up the dump or the fresh is in another spot anyways. We also like to alternate from campsites to boondocking, so you can fill at the sites.
The low bridge clearance thing in New England is tough. I’m in ME now, heading South soon. I had a railroad underpass marked at 10’2” and I’m 10’1”. I decided not to chance it because a few blocks later I would have had a covered bridge marked at 9’6”. I decided turning around and going the long way was a good idea. Rhetorical question: why do the bridges show the height at the center instead of at the lowest point? I’m just glad I’m smaller than you guys.
@@IreneIronTravels if you ever get the chance, Bourne Scenic Park is literally under the Bourne bridge and runs about 41/2 to 5 miles right along the canal. It's fun to watch all the ships and boats go through. It's a Corp of Engineer camp ground.
I'm really enjoying your videos and have now seen most of them. However, as a volunteer firefighter and a driver saved by my seat belt multiple times, PLEASE tell Chris to put on her seat belt. It will likely save her life at some point. Sorry to be gruesome but this is an actual MVA I was at as a firefighter: A teen athlete ended up in literal pieces simply because she didn't wear her seat belt (her boyfriend was injured, but survived because he was wearing his). Not only did she lose her life, but 2 people, including her boyfriend, will never forget the grisly scene (or the dozen or so of first responders). I am leaving out A LOT of horrendous details as I think the point has been made. Please, please be safe and ALWAYS wear a seat belt.
Good catch, thank you! I'm not sure why she had her belt looped under her arm like that. I think when she put it like that when she was sitting in there waiting for me to finish spraying the RV down and forgot to move it back after we left. She normally wears her belt! I'll remind her again not to get into a habit of that! Thank you! 😊
@@IreneIronTravels- Pine pollen is normally late May to early June. A few weeks later you should be good, but then you have to deal with summer tourists.
"Ever wonder where the name Irene Iron Travels comes from?"😂 That's funny that a channel that originally started as a health and fitness channel, is worried that their electric bike batteries won't last long enough and that they might actually have to pedal at some point. I'm old enough to remember when pedaling a bicycle was a nice little fun workout.🤣
Dunno Chris looks like she could kick my butt and I’m a pretty big guy. I think she and probably Aaron get plenty of exercise. Sometimes you want to relax and just get around and not put in a HIIT workout.
No surprise you would be sick after breathing that pollen for weeks. No way in hell we would stay there. My wife would have died. She has terrible allergies.
Just a FYI. We never charge our e-bikes in the RV, always outside. God forbid they were to ever catch fire you could loose your rv. Please consider charging outside only.
I agree, that’s very dangerous.

Are you using the slider hitch on each backin? Or just as you need it?
It’s an automatic slider 👍 So when you drive straight it’s in the normal position and when you turn ( going forward or backward) it moves back automatically! Pullrite Superglide!
@@IreneIronTravels nice. Didn’t realize that. I was looking at B&W slider which I think you have to engage the slider.
Oh interesting! I wonder what’s going on with YT. Thanks for bringing this up!
Do you have a dc-dc charger on your rig with a separate cable to your truck battery.
We don’t. It would be nice in some situations, but the 2750 watts of solar usually keeps the batteries at 100
Be careful not to over tighten the TPMS caps.
👍 Thanks!
We get that pollen every year.
How long does it last? That was horrible to deal with!
Oh man! Good choice not chancing it up there! We're so over the low bridges! 🤣
@@IreneIronTravels I’ve started running with both the Garmin and Google running.
What camp ground are you in? Is it Bourne Scenic Park, right on the canal?
Its called the Gateway to Cape Cod in Rochester, MA
@@IreneIronTravels if you ever get the chance, Bourne Scenic Park is literally under the Bourne bridge and runs about 41/2 to 5 miles right along the canal. It's fun to watch all the ships and boats go through. It's a Corp of Engineer camp ground.
@carolynknisely2383 that sounds great!
@@carolynknisely2383The CoE oversees the bridges, the canal and its operations... The town of Bourne Rec Department runs Scenic Park...
"On" Cape Cod... Never "in"...
Same with MV and/or Nantucket... On, not in...
How u doing?p,rofessional ! later! :)
👍🏻🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Cape Cod, aye ???? Well, sounds like YOU are right at home with all the other Feminine "fellas" out there !!!
My e bike was stolen right beside our camper
Ohhh sorry to hear that! Yes, that is why I keep my in the passthrough of the RV. 👍
Just watched this, but wondering if you're in VA. I just saw a woman who looks like you with 2 Basenjis😅
Ha wasn't us! 😊 Must have been her dopplerganger!
@@IreneIronTravels Wow! I wish I had gotten a photo, because it would have been Louie and June's doppelgangers, as well 🤣
It’s just pollen…remain calm. 🤦♂️
🤣 We survived the great Pollengedden of 2024!
Thank you! 😊
We’re on Cape Cod now … no pollen. When was this video made? Seems outdated.
Not sure how long the pollen lasted, but this was filmed on June 5th. 👍
Electric bikes, yet another needless invention... Definitely a nuisance on the roadways, especially here on the Cape...
No surprise you would be sick after breathing that pollen for weeks. No way in hell we would stay there. My wife would have died. She has terrible allergies.
Eating lobster? Cruelty.
