    I made my first instant pot meal tonight. We had 1 bag of frozen Italian meatballs, 1can of diced tomatoes with peppers, 1 large jar of spaghetti sauce and a box of butterfly pasta (farfalle). I added the meatballs, pasta, tomatoes and sauce (plus a jar and a half of water). I put it on for 7 minutes and as you say.... Put it on sealing not venting, set it and walk away! It was so easy and delicious!

    Thank you all!!! this is an AWESOME video. A little trick that I learned was to take a binder clip on the inner pot and connect it to the inner ring.........this stops the inner pot from moving around when you are mixing stuff while on saute. This works really well and stops you from having to place your hand on the top while mixing. :-)

    • @spaceted3977
      @spaceted3977 Рік тому

      @@Debra_Hasatheory I usually make rice in my Instapot just using a cup of water, then cook chicken portions in the Microwave. Then when the rice is cooked I add a bit of Chicken stock, Soy Sauce or Beef Stock, garlic powder, chilli, fried onions, sugar and salt to the rice and when the Chicken has cooled down I break bits up and put them in the pot. Finally I add some oil and stir it up. I put the heat on un the Pot just to heat it through. You can add prawns, mushrooms, chopped up omelette, sweet and sour sauce etc and you have the most gorgeous Chinese takeaway style meal. With different variations I have this a lot !!!!! You don`t want to make the mixture wet, it needs to be like Chicken fried Rice from the takeaway !!!

    My husband loves meatloaf & mashed potatoes I make in the IP. Put potatoes in the bottom with 1 C. Of water. Place long legged trivet over them. Place meatloaf in the small pot with the top on the trivet. Cook for 10 minutes. Remove meatloaf & trivet. Drain potatoes, put back in the pot. Add butter & milk & blend up with hand mixer. Yummo!

    If you've got a Trader Joe's near you, try their "Island Soyaki". It blows every other teriyaki sauce I've ever tried, out of the water. I go there a few times a year and just pick up several bottles of it (yes, I'll literally go there, just to pick up that one item). They use pineapple juice for the sweetener in it. It's awesome.

    The cheese melts easier when you shred yourself because the shredded cheese has stuff on it to keep it from sticking to itself and preservatives, so it both melts slower and takes longer to spoil. I always get fresher cheeses because the flavors are better and they melt much easier with less clumps.

    You have inspired me to experiment with my slow cooker favorites. I had some thawed chicken thighs but didn't want to wait 6hrs for my favorite recipe so I put my chicken thighs sliced into strips into the instant pot, added the juice from a small can of pineapple, liquid from a can of corn and 1 c salsa and cooked it for 6mins pressure. Then I did quick release & canceled, then turned on saute button and added the corn and the pineapple (crushed or choped up rings) for 2-3 on saute. While this was working, I made some rice to serve this over but you can also do it over noodles.

    Hint frozen veggies in instant pot . I cook everything, let pressure release add veggies and put lid back on to cool. Veggies are perfect- not over cooked and meal cools a little faster. If your pot is already cooled and you lost track of time, easy peasy just put them back on pressure for 1 minute and vent cooker to release pressure quickly.☺

    Your videos are giving me the courage to use my new Insta Pot, it's a little scarier than my crockpot. I think I'm going to begin with the lasagna recipe. Might I suggest one thing? Put your foil shiny side down, the flat side leaches metal into your food. The shiny side is coated, making it a little safer.

    My favorite instant pot recipe is my Curried Butternut Squash soup. It is not really strong with curry, as some of the family doesn't like curry. I peel one 3 lb butternut squash...I cut it in 4 chunks... no need to dice, add 1 cup raw garbanzo beans, 1 large zucchini, 1 large or two medium onions (cut in quarters) and add 4 cups veggie or chicken broth, 1/4 cup onion powder, 1 tblsp salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, i tsp Cheyenne pepper and 1/4 cup yellow curry powder. Cook 40 min on high pressure. Let vent to release lid. Puree with a hand blender until very smooth and add one full 14 ounce can of coconut milk.

    Love my I-Pot!
    I'm not sure how long the InstantPot heating element lasts on average, but I usually saute in a griddle/fry pan to prolong life of the element.
    Grated Cheese tip: never stick your fingers or any used silverware, etc. in the bag - turns it into a petri dish, resulting in premature MOLD. Same for sour cream - they both last MONTHS in fridge w/o mold if you don't introduce any germs.

      What I do is or I did I bought the Multibags of cheese at Costco so I had probably three or four bags and when I went to Walmart I picked up bread bags now they don’t have anything except A twist tie I put my hand in the bottom and push it push the inside into the bag of cheese leave it in the bag and cheese shut the bag up Ziploc it twisted put it in a dark Tupperware container I’ve had my cheese last six months until it’s gone never a moldy piece of cheese

      Kina Wood Yes, these are delicious dumplings!!! I’ve made them for soooo many years. In fact, my kids (when they were young, they’re 50 now) asked for chicken and dumplings,, now my husband asks for them! Another hint for them, add just a bit of poultry seasoning to the dough!! Great!,

      This is going to sound really lazy, but it isn't when you have to roll each of them......I used canned biscuits once when I was out of bisquiçk in a snow storm. Cut each biscuit into 4s, roll and drop them in. Fantastic and I love how dense they are from rolling them.
