Can't get new one lined up. That car has wayyyy more play than mine. It turns but that pushing in that you are doing...doesn't work on this one. There is no pushing in.
This is by enlarge, the most completely understandable and comprehensive repair video...ive ever watched! Thank You sir!!..honest days work for an honest days pay...appreciate that! good for ones soul...more folks outta try it!
That looked simple enough. I'm comfortable to do the tie rod ends, but am a little worried about the ball joint. This made it look doable. Thanks. I will advise how it goes.
Good advice about getting a front end alignment. For about 75 bucks, you can get your tires to last years longer, and they will also let you know if you have any other sketchy suspension components.
I like the moog sway bar links because you can put a wrench on them when you tighten the bolts down instead of those stupid allen key holes the factory ones have. Hate those things.
Over the years when I replace the tie rods/ends, I string and mark things and put things back to within the tolerances every time . I have often been complimented by the alignment shop. They seem amazed. It is not hard to put things back the way they were. But I do recommend an alignment and I will be getting one when I replace the ends and the tires later this year. Years back we replaced the tie rod ends on my friends GM Suburban, and the darn things fell right out similar to what happened in this video! He could have lost steering at any time.
Not fir a kia. I have other ac vids. If the belts turn, you can try to turn the compressor by hand, and energize the cluch with 12v to see if it pulls in.
On my 2008 Kia Rio I'm hearing a popping noise on the driver's side when I accelerate and turn the wheel. I shook the wheel and there is some movement, yet I can't pinpoint what suspension pieces need replacing. Many of the rubber parts on the lower control arms, ball joints, sway bar links are dried and cracked. Should I just replace all this stuff even though I cannot pinpoint it? When I shake the wheel you can see some movement like the strut has some movement, but I don't think the strut is bad.
Of the thousands of alignments I have done, replacing more than 1 tie rod, there were only 2 cars that did not need adjustment on the alignment rack. You might have a "good enough" alignment.
@@RustBeltAuto i maintain my vehicles religiously i had new tires put on a few months prior with an alignment at the dealership so had fresh alignment for sure. Im not trying to knock what you say i was just saying i got lucky and didnt have to go the extra mile. I notice everything and diagnosis is usually on point but after serving in the military i have not been able to work as a tech any more. My body isnt the same as before i signed up to help with 9/11
All your mistakes : Never tighten link kits with impact . . . . Very easy to snap, overtighten or strip or with damage gusher bearing inside links Nowhere did you apply thread locker or properly torque any nuts, bolts or hardware No antiseize applied anywhere as well Thanks
This channel needs more attention for that straight, to the point, clear information
One of the best repair videos I have seen, clear informative and gives me the confidence to do the job myself. Thank you
Welcome!

How do you string up, and put back the alignment the same way when the front end is loose?
Hello ,is it possible to replace the ball joint without removing the other 2 ?
My sources say yes
Great video, this is gonna help me a lot.

@@RustBeltAuto you do great work and i enjoy watching people fix things usually wishing i was still able to do what you do on a daily basis
Do you drive it and check the shocks at the same time?
There are many ways to check shocks, and struts, and most of the time driving the car is not one of them.

Sorry sir, but you are going to need to preach all that stuff to someone who does a job that does not work right.
@John Doe If it will be fine, I use an impact.
Outer tie rod ends are about 50 bucks
@@ChristopherNicholas-uv7xo if you cannot wholesale, you can mail order them for much less.

Are you making fun of me media guy, or just reverberating what you think is funny? Don't make me do another drunkard bike ride.
No, the manufacturer's never think about the poor mechanic! If they did, curse words would've never been invented!
Okay byeee 😅
Rite on
LOL Basicly all the joints went south. I'm suprised the car was not serviced until this point
Master procrastinator. She knew she needed a timing belt too. Procrastinated on that, not long after it broke, wrecked the engine, and junked the car.
