    Great detailed video. Good you showed that even though you thought it was the tie rod intially it was the lower ball joint.

    Would be useful if you can do a side-by-side of what a good ball joint looks like vs a bad ball joint looks like to make it more clear.

      Great point but you suspension parts should not have any movement or play in them. That's one way to tell. Thanks for watching please Like, Share and Subscribe if you haven't already

    if it's a load bearing ball joint, the spring will make this test hard to do because the spring will be holding it tightly in place

      Not on this car, the spring is mounted to the knuckle not the arm. Thanks for watching please Like,Share and Subscribe if you haven't already

    I will use your procedure to diagnose the ball joint again. I just checked it last week and 6 and 12 o'clock was not moved when pushed back and forward as well as the 3 and 9 o' clock for tie rod. But a clunking noise appears to come from the front end strut is heard while driving on the bumpy road. Is it a bad front end strut mount? Your response will be appreciated.

    our 2012 g37 rwd has barely any movement with the 9/3 position test, but def has movement with the 12/6 position test. I've replaced the wheel hub and outer tie rod end on that side. my son says the 9/3 moves a tiny bit, so if both move that is a wheel hub? or should we focus on the ball joints?

      Sorry for the late response but you should go with the obvious part that is bad and work you way to the others. Thanks for watching please Like, share and Subscribe if you haven't already

    What about the wheel bearings?

    • @BIGWILLSCARCARE
      @BIGWILLSCARCARE  Рік тому

      Same concept for checking the wheel bearing just look for movement or play at the spindle instead. Also a bad wheel bearing usually makes a humming noise when you drive. Thanks for watching please Like, Share and Subscribe if you haven't already
