Yes please always appreciated
@@martynspooner5822 i’m happy to hear that! Thanks buddy👍
Yes please 🙏
Reading tab can be helpful but to see someone actually playing a lick gives you so much more, especially if they break it down for you. Thanks a lot Rusty oh how I wish i could have met you decades ago, new guitar players nowdays have no idea how lucky they are.
I totally agree! If you can see and hear the notes, it will sink in so much better! I know we both like the same classic rock guitar music! I really do appreciate all your feedback! Thanks Martyn 😎
I've said it before, Rusty ~ you make it all look SO easy ~ AND it sounds great too!
You are kind Karen! Thank you! Enjoy the rest of your week ❤️

Super practical and useful lesson; thanks man!
Right on David! I’m glad the lesson was useful! Thanks for checking in👍
Rusty your lessons are the best. Your enthusiasm grabs me everytime. You make it really simple.
One thing that woukd be helpful is tab of what you play. It takes ages for me to tab your lessons
Awesome! I’m glad you like the lessons! The way I teach is entirely based on visualizing the fretboard. And I don’t use tabs for that reason. If you can look down at the fretboard and see chord and scale shapes, you will be a great guitarist. Thank you for watching my lessons! Keep rockin my friend. 🤛
Wow Rusty 👍🏻 this sounds fantastic buddy. Lovin’ the classic rock vibe, thanks bud. Speak soon and have a great week my friend 👍🏻🏴🎸
Good to hear from you, Dave! I had to let out some of the classic rock sound this week! Thanks for checking in! I hope you have a great week also. Thanks buddy.👍

Nice! Keep rockin 👍
Hello Dear my good 👍 Your favorite guitar playing make me feel like happy 🎵 Today have a Happy time Cheers 🎵
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your week👌
Tremendously helpful lesson, Rusty. Thank you! Definitely would like more of these rocking' pentatonic lessons. I really like the technique of doing a run and moving that same run or a close variant up an octave. It occurred to me during the lesson that rock and blues guitarists who frequently bend and vibrato notes need to have better ears than guitarists of other genres. As you pointed out, the bends need to be spot on to pitch. Great ear training.
Well said! Yes, these techniques at high volume give the guitar a whole different vibe! I have been drawn to that classic rock sound since I was a teenager! Thanks a lot for checking out the video and let’s talk soon👍
Sounds awesome! Great lesson, very inspiring.🌟You are a rock star, Rusty! 😎🤘🎸🔥🔥🔥
I appreciate that Colourful Girl! Thank you ❤️

I am doing well! Thanks, Ben! I hope you’re doing well also! Later buddy 👍
So good sounding!! It's late where I am so will have a go tomorrow 😂, the pull offs reminded me of the mega solo in Freebird. Thanks Rusty!!
Thank you, Phil! Oh, yes, Freebird! This will definitely work within the G minor pentatonic scale. Hope you have fun with it.😎

Beautiful as always. trying to get that rhythm down. Thanks Rusty!!

Thank you Rafa! I’m glad you are rockin with me! 👍
Thx good rhythm = good lead
That is a true statement! Thanks for checking out the video👍
Thanks for another great lesson, and yes, please do more on the pentatonic. I'm 65 and fairly new to electric guitar playing and your lessons have helped enormously. Thanks again and much appreciated.
Cool! The pentatonic scale gives us good structure. We just need to make those notes some musical. From the heart. Thank you for the feedback Robin 👍
Yes more of this please 🙏
More to come! Thanks for watching 👍
Great lick Rusty
I appreciate that Edward! Good to hear from you! Enjoy the rest of your week😎
Keep the good stuff comin!
Cool 😎 More to come Johnny! Thanks 👌
Tocco spettacolare, complimenti!
That’s kind of you to say! Thanks so much👍
Another great lesson. I've learnt the E riff for Smokestack Lightning and wanna add in some soloing 🤣. Already mashing in a riff from Baby Please Don't Go, and now gonna add in your Jimmy Page riff, to make it utterly ridiculous but it gets me up the neck 🤣🤣. 👏 👍from 🇦🇺
That’s awesome Paul! I use these kind of licks all the time! And they easily mix in with other licks. Glad you got something from the lesson! Talk to you soon buddy.😎
Create rolling phrases , that’s a nice thing to keep things moving and grooving and it’s fun to
Play too … I did incorporate this in my playing ., got an instrumental out in which this is demonstrated called Jump & Swing …
Thanks for watching the video John. I will check your video out later! Talk to you later 👍
@@rustysguitar1 only if you want to …. There’s no guitar only a bunch of oriental instruments …. I wanted to do something completely different …. Next upload will be more guitar orientated
Nice hearing it
Thanks so much👍
Hell yes Rusty!! 🤘🤘
Right on bro 😎 Thanks a lot✌️
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the support! It means a lot to me and my channel. Talk to you soon, my brother.✌️
Hi Rusty, third one picking with speed is quite challenging for me 🎸🍁 But yes these are helpful and inspiring licks. So yes, it would be nice to have other lessons like thIs but please keep the ones that mix theory and practice which are, in my opinion, the core and essence of your channel 👍🎸
Thanks so much! This is such good feedback for me! Most of us will never get deep into theory, but we should still know the notes and some of the intervals that we are using. I appreciate your comment and let’s talk soon.👍
One last observation on this subject of cool jamming licks over an Em blues/rock, Rusty........some of these concepts can be used in a more typical jam session on acoustic guitar but have you considered doing a lesson or fun group of lessons 'unplugged' on acoustic? Some new ideas would be cool and often one can jam out and even rock playing with others on acoustic guitars! Jim C.
Hey Jim, I don’t play acoustic guitar very often, so I haven’t thought about that. But that is a great idea! I know many players grab an acoustic to practice and to jam. I will put some thought into that! I always appreciate your comments and feedback! Thanks a lot my guitar buddy😎
More!!........please
Right on Steve! Thank you for checking in! Later✌️
Awesome Rusty :)
Thanks, Daniel👍
Amazing how you explain
Nice! I’m glad you like the Lessons! Have a great week👍
@@rustysguitar1 do you have any videos explaining how to play fast with picking technques like updown updown- down down upup or economy picking and which one do you use personally
@@amitloutube I have a few. Here’s one of them. The COOLEST Pentatonic Technique I Learned On Guitar And Most USEFUL!!!

Your one cool dude!
I appreciate that Mike! Thanks man😎
Love it u good
Thank you, David! Enjoy your Sunday🙏
Really enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from you . I've noticed a Bible laying on your table and assume you are a man of faith. My question (suggestion) is could you make a video showing different ideas or techniques for praise and worship music. Thank you again. David in Tennessee
Greetings from Chicago David! I do read the Bible in my studio every morning. And I also play on the worship team at church. I really do use the Arpeggio and Triad ideas all the time as I play those worship songs. I will work on something for the near future. Thanks so much for watching my videos. Talk to you soon.👍
@@rustysguitar1 I too play at church and also nursing homes each months. Always looking to add something different to my playlist. Thank you sir.
@davidestes6738 That’s awesome David! Blessings my brother 🙏
Love your lessons Rusty. Any chance of some tabs for the riffs?
I’m glad you like the lessons Steve! No tabs, but I did break it down note for note in the video. If you learn a lick by hearing it, and seeing it, it will stick with you forever. Thanks for watching my lessons and have a great rest of your week.👍
@@rustysguitar1 thanks again for the lesson. They are all very good and a good level for me.
@@stevefielding8324 I appreciate that Steve! Talk to you soon 👌
Love u rusty top one
Thanks so much for watching! Enjoy your weekend 👍
Wow, your guitar sounds so good! What amp are you using?
Thanks Kim! I’m using the Revv G 20 amp set clean. Using the J Rocket Audio Archer pedal for the drive. Some reverb from the Strymon big sky, and a small amount of delay from the strymon timeline. I’m glad you liked the sound. Thanks.❤️
@@rustysguitar1 Nice 👍
And when you ask them how much should we give
They only answer more, more, more, more
Hey Craig, I love what I do so there will definitely be more coming! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch my videos😎
Another great video, Rusty! The Strat sounds great, but that Les Paul especially rocks. Do you have a preference between the two? Oh, and please keep the pentatonic lessons coming! Thanks!
The LesPaul is a Rockin Guitar that’s for sure. Honestly, I love both Stratocaster and Les Paul. If I only had one guitar, I would probably pick a Stratocaster because I can get a lot more clean sparkly tone with it. And still get some decent over driven tones also! thanks so much for watching my videos! Talk to you soon😎
Rusty, I just bought a low-end Epi Les Paul after watching this video. Could you tell me which pickups are in your Les Paul? Thanks!
@stevegunn9971 oh, yes! The LesPaul rocks! I have the original Shaw pick ups in my 1981 LesPaul. Very hard to get. But if you are thinking about switching out pick ups, there are a lot of options out there. I honestly don’t know that much about them. But I hope you have fun with that new guitar Steve! Talk to you later, bro.😎
@@rustysguitar1, you bet, thanks!
Wanna learn more ways to get from e minor pentatonic open position to the 12th fret
Sounds good! Thanks 👌
People learn differently and there is no one way that works best for everyone. I would actually appreciate tab since my learning style is better situated for it. However, since you won't do that would you consider split screening your videos when demonstrating how the licks should be played. Sometimes the camera angle makes it difficult to follow.
Watching my videos, Robert! I definitely need to improve my camera angles. And the split screen is also a great idea! I will start working on this! Have a great rest of your week. Thanks.👍
Question… your playing in Em pentatonic but playing E D A rhythm in major. Sounds good but why ? Thanks in advance
Technically, this progression is E mixolydian. Which is basically a combination of the E minor and E major pentatonic scales. E is definitely the tonal center because the D and A chords just make a brief showing. I don’t have a lot of theory knowledge. So that’s my best answer. Thanks so much for checking out my video! I appreciate your comment and keep rockin brother.✌️
I have to learn these techniques. I know all my scales and modes... but, I can't use them like this. Please help me
I will be focusing on these techniques in the next several videos. You just have to make the scales sound like music. And I will help you with that! Keep rockin my friend.👍
Great lesson. Do you do lessons on line?
Thanks John! No, just the UA-cam lessons for now. But let me know if you have ideas for lessons that would help your playing. Talk to you soon.👍
@@rustysguitar1 Many thanks Rusty. Will do my friend.
