Hey Rusty your lessons are really helping me out after having put all my guitars down for at least 4 or 5 years. I just found I'll be gone back in the hospital and I treated myself to a new American Fender Performer Strat. I was looking at one almost like yours looks like the Serena Burst but they didn't have one in stock so I choose a satin surf green HSS. Keep my fingers crossed next time I stopping the channel I will have it in my lap. Too many now!!!🎸
Thanks Rusty
Sorry to hear that you need to go back to the hospital! I hope all is well. But I’m glad you got a new guitar. That’s exciting. Thanks for checking out the video Mark. Talk to you soon.👍
Brilliant as always Rusty. To teach this well you have to be a master of your art.....and you are 👍👍🎸🎸
That’s kind of you to say, Tony! I really do appreciate that. Thanks buddy.🤛

Hello, Rusty. How are you? First of all, I need to say that you are doing great in teaching us fantastic guitar skills. Anyway a big compliment and congrats on your work and effort that impresses me! Many greetings from Germany, Ludwig

I appreciate that! I’m always happy to help! Have an awesome weekend👍
Aww man! I'm all over this, subconsciously somehow I've been trying to get on top of this style of playing i mean every time i pick up my strat, or tele especially, im drawn to an upbeat blues rock zz top style of playing so it's perfect timing, literally! I think God enjoys it when i myself enjoy playing guitar and when others can enjoy my playing and knows exactly what I'm looking for that I need to get to a level where all of that is possible and this video, thanks Rusty! Is just the ticket.
it's either that or ai algorithms, but I prefer the prior. Awesome 👌
It sounds like you’re having fun on that guitar Mike! And I love this style also. Thanks for all your support and have a great weekend.👍
Hey,Rusty. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You've inspired me to get back to play every day. I was in a rut. God bless.

Hey Rusty!
Great lesson again!
I'll be working on these and a few others as well... been working on a bunch of theory and just memorizing scales and some licks but my overall speed just sucks.
Thanks for all you do man.
Thanks so much, Tommy! let’s keep working on this stuff. I hope you have a rockin weekend my brother.👍

Thanks Rusty.im going guitar crazy!!!! In a good way lol with all these lessons from you and a few others on UA-cam. I was working on e minor riff so i can add some of this to it, i find even if you dont do the stuff 100 % the same.as the teacher, lessons it gives you still ideas and tips and such from it.its so addicting lol.have a great day.😀
Hey Eddie, I’m glad you’re taking some of these ideas and making them your own. That is really what Guitar playing is all about. Thank you for your support to my channel and the great comment here. Have a rockin weekend.👍
@@rustysguitar1 i ve been playing alot of the b flat progression you did on a lesson.and having lots of fun with it like i said in a comment i posted, on that vid, i i found that adding the d Sharp and c minor really fits good with it, and playing around with the triads and the b flat pentatonic.plus adding inverted 2 note power chords.i love it.enjoy your weekend.
@@rustysguitar1 hey me again lol im playing around with groove how u hit the high E and then the e note and d note on the A string lick groove thing and adding in some of the other licks, with the e minor pen, then i found that adding in the c major, g major plus d majo chords sounds great, sorry if im always commenting and telling you lol just get excited and want to share.
Just added a another thing to it lol so lets just say one day if i iget into a band and play around with what im doing,i can tell the other guys this was inspired by Rusty lol and when they say whos that, ill say a great man and guitar player/ teacher
Thx Rusrty

Good to see you here! I love your channel!!! I sometimes make my own tracks. And other times I will use a UA-cam backing track. Keep rockin bro.😎 Thanks for checking in.✌️
Hey, Thanks for the response. Your videos are great.
@@rustysguitar1
I was playing in Drop C tuning, so I improvised, turns out anything’s possible
Nice! Keep rockin👍

I’m glad you’re getting back to it Ray! Good to hear from you and thanks a lot for checking out the video👍
@@rustysguitar1 you're welcome in fact it's a rainy day all day so good 🎸 day and thank you
I don’t want to shred.
I just want to be able to put together what I know, so that I can play with feel like Billy or Joe W, or Richie Sambora.
Those are great players! Good goal👍
Hi Rusty, I know that you are from Chicago and Billy Gibbons is from Texas, but… are you both somehow related? 👍🏻😉 Thank you for this new lesson! 👍🏻👌🏼🙏🏻

Great lesson Rusty, thanks. What year is your LP Custom? Is it a heavy one?
Thanks Martin! It’s a 1981. And it is very heavy. It really is a rockin guitar! Talk to you later.👍
Rusty slow down please. How did you play that first one so easily????
Hey Brian, I did a super slow breakdown. If you have trouble, just pause the video and make sure all the notes are right. I just copy a lot of these licks from other players and things I’ve heard over the years. Just try to make it your own, when improvising. Thanks for watching.👍
Fastest solo ever. The Cars, _Candy-O._ 6.5 sec.
It’s a good one!
i use my pinky to stabilize my picking hand. Is that something I am going to evolve out of like all of the advanced guitarists or is that just the way it is for me? thanks for the vids!!
I like that! Definitely do what works for you. So important to be comfortable. Thanks for checking out the video.👍
you are awesome ! What year is that les Paul ? I have a 1979 les paul custon tobacco sunburts i like your black one better - you were blazing in that intro !
Hey Rick, I hope all is well! Mine is a 1981. All original except for the new fret job. Good to hear from you and thanks for checking out the video.😎
Hey Rusty... I believe you're in Chicagoland...do you do any in person lessons by chance? I can't imagine, for what my goals are, a better guy to teach me.
Thank you for the interest, but I just do the UA-cam lessons. I appreciate all your support to my channel Joel! Talk to you soon.👍
Witch guitar model is that?
It’s a 1981 Gibson, Les Paul custom. It’s a really rockin guitar. Thanks for watching the video.👍
Hey Rusty, is there anywhere to reach out to you and present a paid project we'd like to create with you?
Thanks for the offer but my plate is very full. Later bud 👍
In section #3, did I miss repetition? Thanks
Sorry, I didn’t make it clear. But I was showing some repeating double stop phrases. And repeating the three note sequence that I used in section 2. I appreciate your comment here! Thanks for all your support.🤛
@@rustysguitar1 Thanks for getting back to me Rusty! My blunder Rusty! Everytime I see,"Repeating", I assume it means, Repeating Licks! I get it now 🤣. I've learned all 7 Diatonic Scale positions but now I'm wondering how to use them, what to do with them? Have you done an intermediate vid on that! Great lesson! 👍
@@fake734 I haven’t done a lesson on that topic. But it might be a good topic for a future lesson. Thanks for taking the time to watch my lessons.👍

I was listening to "Sweet Papa John" today, a live Johnny Winter blues orgasm. I found myself asking "Where in the hell on the guitar are all those notes??"
Ya some Johnny Winter! Some players just pull the notes out of the guitar. Thanks for watching Brian.👍
