    I've been playing guitar for over 45 years, you blew me away with this simple tip.
    You opened my eyes, you see, never too old to learn.
    I grew up mainly in the late 70's early 80's, shredding guitar was the main thing :). And now I'm just learning how great and good this is, thank you. Cheers from Belgium

      I agree, Jules has really helped me to see the fretboard from different approaches!

    • @JeighNeither
      @JeighNeither 7 місяців тому

      Well TBF to yourself, this is basically a pattern/box from a very specific niche of Blues called "Chicago Blues", & it's not very popular, even in the US, so it's understandable you're unfamiliar. Whatever helps you navigate the fretboard better is a positive tho! I didn't get much from this because I'm already familiar w/how to mix the major/minor/blues scales, & while this isn't an actual scale or mode or anything, it's whatever turns a light on for your personal understanding of the fretboard that counts. Congrats & enjoy|!

    Thanks for keeping the guitar sound clean. It drives me nuts when some instructors (for some reason they usually have long stringy hair) play with high gain or some type of distortion. It’s much easier to hear and understand the concepts with a clean guitar sound.

    I could not understand how these guys were doing it. It’s starting to come to me. This is one of the best lessons. The scales and playing the changes is a comprehensive way to play solos and improvising. I was stuck in the mud with only one scale.

    • @JeighNeither
      @JeighNeither 7 місяців тому

      Well, this isn't a scale. He's just showing you how to visualize the interchanges of the Major/Minor/Blues scales. You still want to learn all three of those scales, in every position. If it's CAGED you're learning, learn all those shapes, or if you're learning them as pentatonic positions (same thing as CAGED) learn them that way, but learn them also in multiple keys (focus on common blues keys if that's your thing) and then move on to arpeggios, & that will really open up a bag of tricks for you. Arpeggios are magical. Good luck!
