@@guitarmeetsscience It’s great to hear from you, Jimmy! I really appreciate your message here. It’s exciting! Thank you so much for your encouragement. Means a lot my brother.✌️
You speak my language. I like your point; it is clarifying and freeing. Using the whole 12 note pentatonic pattern is like holding a whole set of wrenches in your hand to remove one nut. Make less notes say more musical phrases. Throw a more complex run in there somewhere if you like, but make those notes speak The Truth.
This is great Rusty 👍🏻 & what a fantastic backing track. Can’t believe what I’ve learned from you all these years 🎸 thanks buddy and happy Easter 🐣👍🏻🏴🎸
Wish there had been teaching like this when I was 8 years old back in 1971. Mary Had A Little Lamb just didn't cut it for me back then...so I gave up. Learned open and barre chords, but never my scales. Now at 61...never too late to learn some lead. Thank you Rusty for these awesome videos...simplicity but with massive power.
We are about the same age, so I’m sure we like the same classic rock tunes! If you start connecting the pentatonic scale to some of those chords you will start having fun on that guitar. Thanks for checking out the video and let’s talk soon.👍
Another lesson worth it's weight in gold! I've learned so much from Rusty that I completely understand each lesson, especially those involving minor/major pentatonic scales. But I watch each and every lesson because he slips in something I didn't know or understand. Rusty, you've heard me say it many times, you are a goldmine of guitar information. Folks, watch this man and learn from him. You'll grow as a guitarist much faster than you'd expect. He is a fantastic teacher! Cheers, Rusty.
Thank you Rusty . As you know I’ve never learned the pentatonics but it’s clicking along with all the foundational knowledge I have from self taught. I’m branching out thanks to you and your amazing instruction. ❤! Enjoy your weekend holiday.🎸☮️😎
Fantastic job clearly and concisely explaining and showing how to start using the extended pentatonic scale. Yet another great lesson! Thank you for sharing your experience knowledge and passion with those of us trying to make music. BEST AND PEACE
Merci Rusty. I just had my piano lesson, which was spent playing arpeggios on my baritone ukulele. I'm not confident on strings 2-4 so I know what I need to do. You're giving me great ideas to make my practice more musical. So glad that you do your beautifully simple videos. And yes, they are simply beautiful.
Thanks brother. As self absorbed as a guitarist can be, me ha,ha we can all step back & learn. I've picked up unique phrasing from a beginning player. It's all about ego aside and desire to get better. Thanks brother, you're appreciated.
@@rustysguitar1 Happy Easter Brother, thank you for your hard work in creating these very cool and informative lessons. I value your work and eagerly anticipate more. You're appreciated.
Great lesson Rusty. Something that has helped my playing & my ear training has been learning some famous TV & movie themes like The Addams Family, James Bond, Indiana Jones and The Munster's themes. It may sound comical but it has trained my ears & fingers. Hope you demonstrate all your gear soon.
That really does help so much Ray! Once you can start picking out those notes you are well on your way. I appreciate all the support and enjoy your Easter Sunday my friend.🙏
You should do a lesson that shows how scales, like the pentatonic just repeat themselves (in the same octave) in the next box up except for the first two strings. So basically you just extend the scales with the first two strings into the next octave. I hope that was explained decently at all.
This kind of lesson makes guitarplaying fun! I have always said to people: when your hair stands up from your overarm, you know it's good❤ Feeling and emotion in music makes it great! Hat's off Rudy! 🤠
All of your lessons have been very helpful! I also really appreciate the link to the backing track too, I practiced this jamming out to that background track for more than an hour and had a blast!
So you have two options. Stay within the Cminot penta as shown and focus on the respective notes in the chord changes, or transpose the same structure to the respective minor pentatonic when the chord changes, here Fm and Gm, which would add more opportunities. Correct?
Hey. King Rusty , do you happen to be in NYC , if you are I will want you to be my mentor and teacher , you are an asset to your subscribers and we follow you with great humility 🙏🏾.
Great info, beautiful sound, great teacher, beautiful Strat. I suspect that Rusty is one of those players who could make a cheap $60 guitar sound like a million bucks.
Thanks Rusty! Can you suggest some cheaper equipment we can purchase to record backing tracks and then add guitar over it and have it recorded? I also have drums and a bass, but have no clue what may be available to record any of it for under $500. If there is anything available for less money.
A lot of people use the computer to record. You would just need a small interface to do that. They also make small digital recorders that are inexpensive. Thanks for checking out the video.👍
You lost me after you moved to the 6-8-6-8 frets. my fretbiard diagram shows the notes are not the same (C-D-F-G) as in the first one. How do you know they fit unless they're the same note?

You’re right, Derek! It’s easy to teach the notes but much harder to teach technique. But more lessons on that coming up! Thanks.👍
