    Emblaser Pro video information and preorder: darklylabs.com/?aff=3
    In this Lightburn tutorial, I'm going to share with you how to create an image mask in Lightburn. This image processing tool will allow you to set up your images within Lightburn saving you time and money when working with your laser. This is the best way to crop an image in Lightburn.
    Image masking in Lightburn is a relatively new feature that allows you to edit the shape of an existing image without making a permeant change to the image file. The masks can be adjusted and resized to get a professional result.
    Master image masking in this Lightburn tutorial and add this creative feature to your Lightburn toolbox.

    Thanks for another great video Gil.It would nice if Lightburn would integrate a crop function, it would be easier…

      TheI was thinking the same thing, until I realised that you can crop an image by using the "Flatten image mask" option when you have applied the image mask. Once thats done, it's like a permanent crop, created directly in Lightburn! Let me know if that helps! :)

    Very useful video thanks, I was scratching my head trying to sort this out!! One thing i did notice was that if you try to apply the mask and have overlapped in to the work area not covered by the image, it wont work. Maybe its obvious to some, but it took me a while to realise what i had done initially!!! Thanks again.

      Hi Bernard, I tried out what you described and your right, it doesn't work. Hopefully the Lightburn team will see your comment (they come and check out comments on videos from time to time) and will address it in a future update.

    • @LaserLivestream

      Hi Michael, I have an older tutorial covering your material library. You can use the same workflow to add setting that work for your laser in the image section.

    how do you do this in the version 1.1.02?there is no more mask and so on available.i found there trace image.but i like your way as well it is fast and easy to do.would love if lightburn still has this step.

    • @LaserLivestream
      @LaserLivestream  2 роки тому

      The mask option is still in the menu when you right-click AFTER selecting both the image and a shape vector. The option will not be shown if you have not selected both elements together. The tutorial shows you how to make sure you have both elements selected.
      So you are still able to use this method to crop your images in Lightburn. I used version 1.1.03 to check it out.

    • @LaserLivestream
      @LaserLivestream  2 роки тому

      Hi Ash, glad you found us.
      The library settings in Lightburn are a feature of the software, and the setting itself really only works for the type of machine you are using. I use an Emblaser 2 diode laser that you can find out more about here at darklylabs.com/
      I have a video tutorial talking about how to make library settings that I think will help. ua-cam.com/video/HPj8B6X9wws/v-deo.html
      Also, let me know what your going to make with your laser. Always interested to see what people create using their laser!

    Finally a video I think I can work with unless you have a better way? When I download a template. It will have multiple things on it. When all I want is one image from the bunch. I was told to put a box around it but the box doesn't seem to work. Maybe I need to tool it? I tried to cut, trace, lord knows what else? So new & I seem to spend more time watching videos then burning them. Feeling of buyer's remorse setting in. My employer wants to GIVE me a really nice Epilog or Thunder. Said it's blue & white $20,000? That's been in storage for me to have. When I can't seem to start my own 20w diode yet. What say you? Please help!! I don't want to also learn Inkscape or something else when I know Lightburn has it all! Still on the free trial.🤔

    • @LaserLivestream
      @LaserLivestream  2 роки тому

      I use a Mac for all my tutorials. If you don't have the mask option in the drop-down menu, make sure you have both the image and mask element selected. Once you have selected both, the option will present itself in the menu.
