- Here is a new mic shoot out i recorded with 5 condenser microphones.
The Neumann TLM102, TLM103 and TLM67, the tube (valve) Vanguard V13 (gen1) and the JZ Amethyst. The order of the audio is random so you can "blind" test them. I would love to read your comments.

Of course this is not a "scientific" shoot out, i just tried to do a "tasting" for anyone that would like to get an idea of how they sound.
The fact that this is a Greek voice over may be useful as you can only focus on the sound, heh!

Honestly, it’s amazing just how good the TLM102 is! The clear winner for me. The 67 is close behind, but picks up more of the booth. The 102 is the Neumann secret weapon, it’s crazy.

Without having looked yet - Mic #1 feels a bit flat. Mic #2 is very pleasant and well-rounded, very nice. Mic #3 picks up a lot of room and boom, but is very detailed. Mic #4 is extremely polite with transients and esses, and very warm-bodied, with perhaps a touch too much low end . Mic #5 is nice, but the mid-range is a bit much for my taste.

A Microtech Gefell is missing from this comparison. The M930 is really a good mic for VO. Some people call it "the better tlm103" as they are in the same price range and both have something in common with Neumann quality.
Unfortunately i don't have one! I heard too that it is a great mic!
