Regarding the sound you hear with this video - provided you are listening to the video through decent ear-buds or head phones or decent speakers connected to your computer, you should be able to hear a reasonable audio recording based off of the Zoom Q3HD which was one of three cameras used to record this. The other two cameras are the Go Pro Hero 3 Silver edition model. Their audio is nowhere near as good as the Zoom Q3HD, so that is why I went with it for the sound.
As for the sound, I have read a ton of debate about what I was using (read above - now you know) and how it sounded. In situations such as these, where set up and tear down is not something where I am afforded the luxury of time, I have to move quickly. That is why I have so far chosen to go with the Zoom Q3HD for the audio. I am always on the lookout for making improvements, but for now, this is as good as it gets for having a VERY mobile unit to capture video and audio. I have mentioned before that I am always open to any suggestions for how to make the sound better. But for what this is and for how quickly I have to get set up and tear down, this is not that bad. Thanks for reading and let's keep the comments positive and helpful, not negative and uncool. Thanks. - Chris Brewer
Chris Adler is a drum monster...period
Love that snare!!!
As a drummer all my life, man he makes it look easy, trust me it’s not.
Well the song is mid range of difficulty of the log songs, but it's very hard to make it it look easy. And by mid range I don't mean it's shit, you just don't need fast feet for that song.
Chris makes it look so effortless
I was front row at this concert and front row at the Nashville concert too. Absolutely badass as usual.
For years i never thought id be able to play a LoG Chris Adler song. After 20 years of practicing i finally got there (i also took 5 years long hiatus' throughtout).
Beautiful, and I love the snare sound too
Chris Adler number 1 !!
Artist. 🌏
The sound is brilliant! Can't understand why anyone would think otherwise. You can hear the cymbals perfectly which is the main thing of course!! Thanks for uploading.
It's shame we can't hear the kick drum properly :-(
I think that's because meinl just wanted to focus on the sound of the cymbals which of course are meinl cymbals
pedro is right..they just take the sound from the overhead mics for the cymbal sound!
Tasos Stixx No that is not right. They did not use the sound from the overhead mics. They sound comes from one of the cameras they recorded this with, the Zoom Q3HD.
Awesome!!!!
i like that hair style
LOOOOOOOL thank you for that
EL MEJOR !!
Indeed, I hear you
BEST THE BEST FOREVER " CHRIS ADLER"
I fucking love that snare...
he makes splashes cool
Yes
i met him! :)
Triggers a bass drop, used in Laid to Rest and a few others.
Sometimes.... less is more.
Does anyone know what sound the trigger on his left is for? Sub bass, maybe?
what's that pad he keeps hitting towards the end?
A little late, however! It's an electronic drum that triggers a bass drop during the live performances. Pretty wicked 🤘
Does anyone know what that black pad is to his far left? You can see at it 3:46
Just saw them playing in Powerstation auck
Me too but I guess the point of the video is to hear the Cymbals
just notice that he hit left first.
Roland pd-8 pad to trigger most likely an 808 bass drop
But i wish i could hear more of the kick drum
So what are his crashes? I absolutely love the high pitch
Well, it's changed over time since some of the series of cymbals that he has played in the past have been discontinued. Here he was probably playing two 14" Soundcaster Custom Medium crashes, one Mb8 16" Medium crash, and one Byzance Brilliant 18" Medium crash. Both the Soundcaster Custom and the Mb8 have been discontinued.
@@meinlcymbals shame they're discontinued. They're beautiful cymbals
@@meinlcymbals I got my hands on a Soundcaster crash 🔥 absolutely beautiful cymbal
Except not at all, because he's been a consistently clean, creative, and technical drummer on every album they've put out.
der spielt wie ein anfänger!
Epic hair flip at 2:11 :-)
le molestaba la wea jhahjajh
Think he is sitting on the mic :D
Why's he playing czarcie pedals rather than his tricks?
What does the electronic drum pad triggers ?
+DarkEthiosQC 808 bass sounds….that large bass boom you here every now and again. He doesn't use it in this song… only every so often - like at the start of Laid to Rest for example… Its not generally picked up by camera's or anything because its so low… but if you're watching live it will feel like the roof is about to cave in ;)
+Drummer HC He uses it within the breakdown of this song. Starting at 3:05 & 3:10 along with the part immediately after that.
metaldrummer47 geeze man you're right!! sorry totally forgot!!! I've only heard the song a thousand times! cheers bud.
Drummer HC seen them live a couple times and I’ve always noticed that. It’s quite an experience for a live show
Maybe you are talking about slipknot or something. There must be a reason for glen benton and satyricon inviting him to tour and work on projects. Saying that he plays basic shit only fast, is certifying your hate on him.
1:05 😬 oops, but nobody noticed
czarcie kopyto?
Czarcie Kopyto drum pedals!!!!!
It's a trigger for a bass drop
Thats kind of a depressing point of view
Why do you say that?
You spelled "Lars Ulrich / Joey Jordison / Travis Barker / Ringo" wrong.
trigger
first and fucking sick
No kick drums
Looks like he switched from Axis to Trick
yeah he did in like 2010 lmao
It looks a bit like he's dressed as Scorpion with that top
The guy gets more agitated walking
So tired
I love Chris but this wasn’t his cleanest performance at all....
RSR619 agree. that was quite sloppy and he missed couple of tom shots
Travis Barker and maybe Joey but Lars is hated on too much to be overrated.
I didn't read overrated! LOL !! I hate Lars too XD
He is a good drummer. But I don't like his style of playing. He looks so tensed in this video. :/
Yeah, Lars, the guy that can't play double bass to save his life and can barely play any of his parts live.
That shirt with the rips in the back looks like a chicks shirt lol just sayin
you should adjust your monitor cause they're only yellow parts lol just sayin
It's a Nike Washington Redskins Dri-FIT Hypercool Speed Performance t-shirt. It's a compression shirt like Under Armor, but the "rips" you speak of are vents to allow cool air to circulate into the shirt. I know because I have a Saints one like it.
its not ripped its yellow lol just sayin
Call Lars overrated, but nobody likes him. Lol.
Nope.
Just talking about overrated drummers. Joey Jordison is like metal's version of Travis Barker. Plays basic shit really fast.
After seeing this i realized how incredibly over rated he is
