I transcribed this myself, very nice work man! However I do believe there are some inaccuracies. At the beginning it is also 17/16 15/16 and not 17/16 4/4 (following a 5 5 7 5 5 5 pattern that stays everyone with the main riff), and there's a point where it's a 5 over 6 polyrhythm, line 30. 5 is on the stack (every fourth grouping of five is hit both on the 1 and 4 of it) and the 6 is on the bass and snare pattern. Took me ages to figure it, But great work transcribing this monsterous song. I'll post my own transcription in a bit I suppose, just didn't get to editing it with the video.
you are right, but as you know a lot of Hamasyan can be "simply" in 4/4 but the 4/4 won't make the song easier but more difficult to read and understand the groups subdivisions.. so sometimes, for example u can write 17/16 + 15/16 or just 2 bar of 4/4, but the 17+15 is easier, so the same with all the other internal subdivisions, they can be seen in different ways.. I always try to make the transcriptions as easy as possible to read;)
@@danieleatzoridrumchannel7119 I meant that it's 17/16 15/16 and not 17/16 14/16, I argued your very point alot. The notation should serve the music eventually. It's just that 17/16 and 14/16 is just a straight up mistake, not a liberal decision. Again tho, very good transcription.
@@nram3930 don't take me wrong, I agree 100% on what you say, and as you can see the rest of the transcription I used the " 17+15 ", but on the first part of the song I just made that to divide the bars so the 2 bar of 17/16 (1st & 3rd ) looks exactly the same, much easier to memorize, otherwise the 3rd bar would be like the 1st bar with a permutation of 1 16th. the way I wrote is : bar 1 (17/16) bar 2 ( 14/16) bar 3 -- same as 1-- (17/16) bar 4 (16/16) im not saying is the best choice, but in that way I think is easier to see the "design" of the riff
@@danieleatzoridrumchannel7119 I might be mega wrong here, but the mistake I thought happend was that the second bar ended with a dotted 8th note and two 16th notes, and that the rest at the end of the 4th bar is actually a dotted 8th note and not a full quarter (again in that 5 grouping, with an 8th note and a dotted 8th note).
That way then the 3rd bar is not a permutation, it's literally the same as the first, and the 4 bar is exactly like the 2nd but with a rest at the end.
I'm a big fan of Tigran Hamasyan, and I can say this guy is a hell of a beast to be able to play this with such composure and precision
Good lord 😵💫 what a project., nice work ...🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶
15/16 and 17/16 is just 4/4 with one beat linked over the bar
Amazing Man.
