Say what you want, but Chris Alder is the king! He pioneered an entire style of metal drumming and is the primary influence of thousands of young metal drummers today.
+archi baldikowski Matt is a damn good player, one of the best "new" drummers. But let's be real here. Chris and Lamb have been and are more influential to more people than Matt and Animals. That's not taking away from their amazing musicianship.
MegaThrasher95 thats kind of the success argument and i always answer it with: hitler was quite successful for a while, but was it good? ;) matt is the way more sophisticated drummer and can surely technically play everything chris plays, but does it work the other way around? i dont think so...
I literally came here for this comment. As a drummer I've made that mistake wayyyy too many times thinking we were going into the breakdown/bridge/chorus and made a whoopsie and had to backtrack 😂
Achita Jongjaijit 12 x 5.5 Black Panther signature Adler snare. I own one and it sounds exactly like it does in studio. I would recommend it, and it's cheap, as far s high end snares go.
I don't think it's possible for someone who enjoys LOG's music to not dig the absolute shit out of Adler's snare sound. Actually, you don't even have to listen to them or even know they exist; if that snare does anything but please your eardrums, you're the feds.
blast beats are the easiest way to fill in space without creativity. . when tasteful, they can add some energy. but after sacrament, they toned down the creativity. these guys, however, have one of the best repertoires in the business. i've listened to ashes of the wake, literally, hundreds of times, if not thousands of times. there is nothing to find thats called a flaw in that album. palaces too. but ashes is utterly flawless.
Actually, no one said Lamb of God IS a blast beat band or this song IS a blast beat song. You just don't seperate musics or musicians strictly by genre. If they fit the band and the musics, they are good. And you'll find a thousand reasons people love Chris Adler. If you don't like him, it's fine. Just be positive, and don't ruin other peoples day.
The Zoom Q3HD's sound is actually superb. Everything is pretty clear. You're just missing a clear kick sound, which is kind of critical to Chris Adler's sound. So, i guess either setup a mic just for the kick or export it from the house. Then, simple post-editing, syncing maybe and mixing should do the trick.
i emailed him at his website when i noticed it in the desolation video he said its a custom white Saturn kit and it looks like black chrome hardware/Lugs probably to match the snare
He uses two of the 14" cymbals next to each other because one is a thin and the other one is a medium. But it is the same crash, just not the same type.
Not looking to pick a fight here 'cuz A) arguing online is completely inane, & B) we both obviously love Lamb of God, so it's a moot point. I never said Chris wasn't good at blasting; he's obviously very precise, and as I already said, the stick height he's attaining in between notes looks good. But he is obviously POUNDING the snare the rest of the time; sometimes the stick even goes above his head before coming down. I'm just talking basic physics here. Chris IS a beast, no argument there! :)
Uh oh, pissed off the fan boys there Tommy :P I love Lamb of God and Chris, but you do make a valid point. He looks like he's getting decent stick height in between the strokes when he's blasting, so I think the problem is just that he likes to really smack the crap out of his snare the rest of the time; he should try to compensate for this. No disrespect though, 'cuz while not as technical as say Nile or Origin, Lamb of God is still heavy and writes catchy, head-bangin' tunes :)
Don't forget he has earplugs in to actually hear what the rest of the band is doing. And for those comenting on the beat/groove, you barely hear the (double) bassdrum which would kill almost any beat.
One of the easier drummers to play too imo, he doesn't go over 155 bpm very often but its because he doesn't need to.! love his drumming not trying to dis it just stating a fact.
i use 2 crash close to each other 2 cymbals provides sharp attack 1 strike each keeps it even sounding if you hit the same crash wile decaing the attack is weak hope ths helps
@@sevenman9672 Nah man, he came in too early, completing 3 x snare/crash combos before he realised and reset. All drummers make mistakes live, it’s just a matter of covering them up adequately, without losing time. Edit : Which Chris managed to do nicely.
+Hellwyck Haha yeah, nah at this time he was still using his old signature, but obviously he's now using the warbird lol, which I must say is a beast of a drum!! I currently own a warbird, cherry bomb and a dynamic tribal and they are so good, honestly some of the best snares :)
haha, I do. I love Chris and I think he is the best, but ofc are there drummers that com up with the whole thing and shit, so hes only '' the best drummer on earth'' for me cuz i love Lamb of God. :)
Who the fuck cares about that overrated guy. Come on ! Stop bringing that guy every time. I'm tired about all that competition shit ! Drumming is an art, people who make it about being or not the best don't understand the whole purpose of music. That being said, Chris as always is excellent (and the audio is sufficient for us to hear) and is a great drummer to watch.
his double bass work is cleaner than the queen of england's fine dining set
Say what you want, but Chris Alder is the king! He pioneered an entire style of metal drumming and is the primary influence of thousands of young metal drummers today.
hm, matt garstka with animals as leaders? compared to him adler sounds like is a drum tec...
archi baldikowski Matt Garstka and Chris Adler are completely different in drumming styles.
Alex Menendez Yup hes the main reason i started playing drums!
+archi baldikowski Matt is a damn good player, one of the best "new" drummers. But let's be real here. Chris and Lamb have been and are more influential to more people than Matt and Animals. That's not taking away from their amazing musicianship.

Anyone else notice that he prematurely goes into the next measure at 1:05 - He covers it up so well. A true master.
I did notice that, and not only did he cover it up so effortlessly, but what resulted sounded better than what it really should've been.
i think he actually played it right because it fits to the guitar part.
I literally came here for this comment. As a drummer I've made that mistake wayyyy too many times thinking we were going into the breakdown/bridge/chorus and made a whoopsie and had to backtrack 😂
The "Adler bounce"! Hahaha.
Sarcasm?? Where?? XD
😶
He makes everything look so simple. He's an unbelievable drummer.
Love the snare
Me too

I have got mapex horizon snare.I had it for 4 years still sound great.

I love this and Joey Jordisons snare. And they couldn't be more different 😂
Chris Adler just progresses on every single album he always does something new in his drumming it's always a surprise on what he will think of next.
For me, It's always a Musical learning experience with Adler, so Thank You.
I hear so much Vinnie Paul inspired groove in his drumming! its so awesome!!!
I only noticed now how low his throne is!
the only time you'll ever see chris adler blast beat
+Death_N0cturnal Have you listened to the new album.... You may want to rephrase hahaha
its a joke calm down. he even said himself he doesnt like too much blasts
+Death_N0cturnal Blast beats are overrated imo anyway. :P
not really. you say that because you don't listen to any extreme metal at all.
blast beats are the easiest way to fill in space without creativity. . when tasteful, they can add some energy. but after sacrament, they toned down the creativity. these guys, however, have one of the best repertoires in the business. i've listened to ashes of the wake, literally, hundreds of times, if not thousands of times. there is nothing to find thats called a flaw in that album. palaces too. but ashes is utterly flawless.
out of all the double bass work I've seen. His is some of the cleanist.
That was awesome 👏🥁🤘🏻🤘🏻👍👍fantastic sound 🏆
amazing metal drummer , the best
Wow, lots of improvising.
I like the change :D
Especially at 3:46.
Btw, the sound is just fine. You can hear everything as it is.
Keep' em coming!
Thanks! I have never seen that kit before i was just wondering. Thanks again!
Killer! More please!
i just love his style!!

God
CHRIS ADLER
He makes it look so easy.
Did a little bit of the intro at school once. But schools always have shitty drum kits. Can't make bricks without clay 😂😂
this was uploaded on my b-day
Happens to the best, he is only a human like everyone else :)
i will check that up :)
Thank you Meinl.
Thank you.
:')
sounds sickkk
Chris you are a god
First time I've seen him play with his hair down. Metal.
The best just continue like nothing happened
THIS DRUMMER IS SO FUCKING AWESOMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Chris can lay it down!

Ironically it's on the song "Set To Fail" :)
mY fAVorite...

Chris is a fucking god
Dat SNARE
So nearly messed up. Recovered like a pro
Like this sound :P
Read the description for a note about the audio. Thanks. - Chris Brewer
His cymbals are so small and snare is so high pitched that it sounds like he's playing a Hello Kitty drumset.
It's the best sounding kit going. No triggers. Just mics. I absolutely love it
this movie show`s exacly what i heard when playin in gig :(

total mess up and beast recovery at 1:07
good catch! anyways he is the shit!

@@judsonchristudas Rare for Chris Adler
Since when did Chris Get a white kit??!!
Agreed
There is a fail on 01:03.
That china is incredible!
lol sorry your mistaken!....have you heard porcupine tree?look up for example 'mother and child devided'..you'll be impressed by gavins drumming.
Mistake @ 1:07 coming into the snare/crash section too early.
Edit : Art’s live version of this is superior imo.
Unless he was improvising

he's the best bash metal drummer .
Yeah we love them too. But we can't watch them every time. Every once in a while I want to enjoy some fuckin Chris Adler.
what about Buddy Rich? Max Roach?
What kind of snare is that?
+Zachary Wilhelm Mapex Black Panther.
+Hellwyck The warbird to be exact
+Hellwyck Actually my bad its his old signature, but they're both pretty much the same
Reece Crossley I wasn't sure if it was the Warbird so I didn't pin it down exactly and as a Black Panther user myself, I didn't wanna be wrong :)
+Hellwyck Haha yeah, nah at this time he was still using his old signature, but obviously he's now using the warbird lol, which I must say is a beast of a drum!! I currently own a warbird, cherry bomb and a dynamic tribal and they are so good, honestly some of the best snares :)
It might not even be all that tight since it's such a small snare.
Dat snare.....
Chris Adler (y)
True, but he stayed in time
haha, I do. I love Chris and I think he is the best, but ofc are there drummers that com up with the whole thing and shit, so hes only '' the best drummer on earth'' for me cuz i love Lamb of God. :)
Such a good drummer, and I don't even really care for log much.
12" x 5.5" 5.1mm walnut shell
read my other comments before anwser -.-
Wow, he sits so low now!
PIF???
:D
1:07 PIF
Mistake at 1:07.
Sometimes even the best don't nail it.
wir sind die lustigen holzhacker buam..was fur ein hacker.. i like aynsley dunbar. ;-).
Never have i liked the sound of his snare
his leg must be hurt doing double bass on a low throne
+Hafiz Dika well, now i point that out too... i would be able to paly shit with that position^^
The band without not serious the same thing
He's got plenty of songs far more complex than this.
That snare...really tight...ehh
1:08 Human Eror .. bhahahaaaaa
don't forget joey jordison
machine gun
He uses cheatcodes for foot drums !
Thank me later !!
yeah right groove... is the same that many other metal drummers, nothing great at least for me...
DAT CHINA
A rare mistake in there.
Its not hard.
He is just fast with his foots and he owns a lot of crash cymbals
Those bass drums hits are weaker than the Venezuela’s economy

rubbish...research your drummers...steve gadd,gavin harrison etc.
that is the single weakest blast beat I've ever seen in my entire life
he's the best drummer to you...oh well that changes everything!...NOT!
