    Say what you want, but Chris Alder is the king! He pioneered an entire style of metal drumming and is the primary influence of thousands of young metal drummers today.

      hm, matt garstka with animals as leaders? compared to him adler sounds like is a drum tec...

      archi baldikowski Matt Garstka and Chris Adler are completely different in drumming styles.

      +archi baldikowski Matt is a damn good player, one of the best "new" drummers. But let's be real here. Chris and Lamb have been and are more influential to more people than Matt and Animals. That's not taking away from their amazing musicianship.

    • @archibaldikowski3646
      @archibaldikowski3646 8 років тому

      MegaThrasher95 thats kind of the success argument and i always answer it with: hitler was quite successful for a while, but was it good? ;) matt is the way more sophisticated drummer and can surely technically play everything chris plays, but does it work the other way around? i dont think so...

    Anyone else notice that he prematurely goes into the next measure at 1:05 - He covers it up so well. A true master.

    • @mexiguayan
      @mexiguayan 6 років тому +3

      I did notice that, and not only did he cover it up so effortlessly, but what resulted sounded better than what it really should've been.

    • @Quallo-ek6dx

      i think he actually played it right because it fits to the guitar part.

      I literally came here for this comment. As a drummer I've made that mistake wayyyy too many times thinking we were going into the breakdown/bridge/chorus and made a whoopsie and had to backtrack 😂

      Achita Jongjaijit 12 x 5.5 Black Panther signature Adler snare. I own one and it sounds exactly like it does in studio. I would recommend it, and it's cheap, as far s high end snares go.

    • @mexiguayan

      I don't think it's possible for someone who enjoys LOG's music to not dig the absolute shit out of Adler's snare sound. Actually, you don't even have to listen to them or even know they exist; if that snare does anything but please your eardrums, you're the feds.

      blast beats are the easiest way to fill in space without creativity. . when tasteful, they can add some energy. but after sacrament, they toned down the creativity. these guys, however, have one of the best repertoires in the business. i've listened to ashes of the wake, literally, hundreds of times, if not thousands of times. there is nothing to find thats called a flaw in that album. palaces too. but ashes is utterly flawless.

    Actually, no one said Lamb of God IS a blast beat band or this song IS a blast beat song. You just don't seperate musics or musicians strictly by genre. If they fit the band and the musics, they are good. And you'll find a thousand reasons people love Chris Adler. If you don't like him, it's fine. Just be positive, and don't ruin other peoples day.

    The Zoom Q3HD's sound is actually superb. Everything is pretty clear. You're just missing a clear kick sound, which is kind of critical to Chris Adler's sound. So, i guess either setup a mic just for the kick or export it from the house. Then, simple post-editing, syncing maybe and mixing should do the trick.

    Not looking to pick a fight here 'cuz A) arguing online is completely inane, & B) we both obviously love Lamb of God, so it's a moot point. I never said Chris wasn't good at blasting; he's obviously very precise, and as I already said, the stick height he's attaining in between notes looks good. But he is obviously POUNDING the snare the rest of the time; sometimes the stick even goes above his head before coming down. I'm just talking basic physics here. Chris IS a beast, no argument there! :)

    @The_Stoic_Drummer 11 років тому

    Uh oh, pissed off the fan boys there Tommy :P I love Lamb of God and Chris, but you do make a valid point. He looks like he's getting decent stick height in between the strokes when he's blasting, so I think the problem is just that he likes to really smack the crap out of his snare the rest of the time; he should try to compensate for this. No disrespect though, 'cuz while not as technical as say Nile or Origin, Lamb of God is still heavy and writes catchy, head-bangin' tunes :)

  • @Ausermac
    @Ausermac 11 років тому

    Don't forget he has earplugs in to actually hear what the rest of the band is doing. And for those comenting on the beat/groove, you barely hear the (double) bassdrum which would kill almost any beat.
