Botface deserves a mention in my opinion, just because I've seen so many people argue it's anything but a piece of garbage. You're paying 9 mana to either do nothing or burn your next card, and your opponent gets to choose. Or you can use Chemical spill, to burn your next card for just 5 mana, while also wasting 2 cards instead of just 1. And that shit started out as a 3/9! Botface is arguably a worse card than the original Rotface in almost every single aspect.
Might be an unpopular opinion, but Rotface & Botface (try saying that 10 times fast) should have swapped costs and both should have Rush so that they're not "spend most of your mana to do nothing that turn"
taunt is no longer cheat. rush is. any modern card w taunt should just have rush instead... thats hoe this game plays, and what your minions need to be doing basically to keep tempo turn to turn...
THANK YOU FOR READING OUT THE CARDS. I listen to these as I sleep it's nice to have some context. Also i don't know if you say this often in this video (i am going to sleep) but no need to apologize for thinking, misspeak, reiterating etc. You often say "sorry" if you miss read a card it's no big deal just the nature of a presentation. Calling it out is more distracting than the mistake itself, plus you do such good videos and in so much variety and volume it's only natural. Just keep it up always love these. Still amazing how many topics you continue to cover. Ty
I once managed to awaken not 1, but 2 slagmaws in a single game (i was playing priest (i did not excavate a single time (iirc both of them died before they could go face)))
Slagmaw worked really well for my Big Brann Warrior deck in that era. It was a pretty consistent on-board imminent threat that I could pull out ahead of expectation on turns I got my Excavates off. Either he was an early-game stat-bomb for pushing into the mid, or a *massive* card that had been gigantified several times over and, with removal largely gone, ended the match.
Not about memes at all, it's a card whose effect wants to change the way the opponent perceives the game, it was made to trick the opponent into a worse mulligan.
@@DavidPachón8591 It was in the tier 1 deck because of the interaction with burgle cards at the time. @@ZZZZordan It was only useful because of the abusive interaction with Gnoll. I do wish they made a playable version of the card that wasn't just a terrible card that happened to work with a niche interaction, but having a good card that every Rogue could run with 0 downside and always have their class hidden every single game might make HS obnoxious.
Stitchensew works really good in arena.. Again maybe you wouldn't pick Snake Eyes for the first round but in arena you would like to see her in your potential discovery pool. Tae`thelan always gives you a sort of relieving feel when you find it randomly like with unstable evolution or sort and makes the turn fun.
I hate how powercreep has essentially eliminated active abilities on regular minions everything is battlcry and rush with a small amount of deathrattle jank.
A cool way to fix Stitchensew would be to have the minions it summons gain the accumulative stats of all the minions that were summomed before it (and maybe bonus effects?) So it would be: 5 Cost- Its stats + Stitchensew 3 Cost - Its stats + the 5 Cost + Stitchensew 1 Cost - Its stats + the 3 Cost + 5 Cost + Stitchensew Turning Stitchensew into a snowball effect that requires your opponent to deal with it in other ways than just killing it cause that will LITERALLY just make it worse for them
It always amuses me greatly when some streamer suddenly encounters an obscure card and is like "what? I have _never_ seen this card before?!". But here it was me who was left completely bewildered upon seeing Soridormi.... =_=
I took stitchensew to legend in rainbow DK standard back when Whizbang’s released. It was a really solid value like with some stick-y potential, and you could hit stuff like Leeroy as your 5-cost which could produce unexpected burst damage. The card isn’t an insane bomb, but it’s not unplayable.
Maestra, created by the blizzard idk "to bluff opponents mulligan" broke pro scene because of the effect. They just decided to add the new rule: if player puts this card into deck player must put standart card back to show opponent which deck player fights against with. Honestly I think bad legendaries aren't terrible in specific scenarios, 1) The flavor of the card- if they make it a center piece in the story of the expansion (if there is one) or its a preexisting character for wow. 2) The effect alters the rules in an extreme way without extra copies or the need of any help from other cards (Luna's pocket galaxy, Guff and reno hero cards are a good all good examples). 3) It is testing a new mechanic before they release the mechanic (the example I have here is Charged Devilsaur I know its not legendary but on a similar concept with a legendary they have more room to work to test the mechanic they can have it be "better" than they think is fair and if its a flop they know they underestimated the mechanic and if it is broken they went to far. It's easier to tweak 1 broken card versus 15). 4) They have struggled to balance the class in recent sets so to help balance it make a legendary that is antisynergistic to reduce the pool of playable feels bad cards. 5) The card does something that class cannot do on its own or struggles to do on its own. 6) Finally it is made specifically to call back another card typical in the case of being bad it is a meme within the game or card infamous for being bad (normally this is done in reverse to make a more playable version, but we saw both ways a lot in whizbang).
Okay, I know you honed in on Splintergraft from the Witchwood and I do agree that it's a terrible, awful, no-good card - but what about the OTHER druid legendary of that expac? (400)Dust fallen Aviana.
Both new expansion leggendaries for DH feels great in my opionion, especially Xor'Toth. Actually i like Kill'Jaeden too, don't know why but i love strange mechanic that force to play on unsual style, would love to see more of that
I know its a middle of the road deck, but I genuinely managed to use Tae'thelan in my lightshow deck. You get so many copies of lightshow you can end up with 4 in hand, play him, and throw all four, probably doing at least 5 6 7 and 8 sets of 2, for a total of 52 damage to everything your opponents have, and on the high end its 7, 8, 9, 10 WITH spell damage, making it 102 damage to everything. So, I just run lightshow like a control combo deck (the no other spells for rewind makes it a hard build tho.
