I have adjusted the valves. But I saw that the clearance was reduced. Now gasoline is only unleaded. Can this clearance be reduced from this? Need to add lead to gasoline?

Iska, there's no reason for the inlet valve clearances to close up, however if it's consistently the exhaust valves that become tight on a standard head (ie one that hasn't been "unleaded" by fitting hardened exhaust valve seats) then it's most likely to be valve seat recession due to the unleaded fuel.
In practice Volvos heads are amazingly resilient to VSR due to the quality of iron used for the cylinder head casting; however if the engine is revved hard, say over 5000rpm regularly, then this will cause the exhaust valve clearances to close up. The solution is to fit hardened exhaust seats, but using a suitable additive will help in the short term.

It looks as though you just barely tighten up the locking nut at 2:32. I'm trying to get a sense of how hard to tighten it? Thanks!

In theory the torque on a 5/16" thread is 21Nm, and Volvo did not specify a torque for the adjusters in any of the B18/B20 workshop manuals we have here.
We often see cars with overtorqued locknuts, which then stretches the adjuster and jams the threads: so 2'32s into the video was in fact as much as I tightened the locknut. I reckon the locknut should free off with just one hand on an 8" long spanner - if you need two hands to free it, it's over torqued.

Is the "tumbling moment" and rule of 5 a wrong way of adjusting valves on a B18?

The rule of 5 should also work I believe: by taking the first pair 8&6 and adjusting 1&3 effectively means you're also using a rule-of-5 I guess!

Hi....i installed a B20 with overdrive in my PV544 but the speedometer cable rotates in reverse way than the clúster, what do i need to add to change the spinning direction to make the clúster work properly?? Please advise...

Hi Marco, that's really bizarre, and I can't think how it can be that way. I'll check out the rotation direction in a couple of hours and let you know what I find. What overdrive have you fitted, D- or J-Type I assume?

@@amazoncars hi my friend... this is a J type transmission ...B20 engine and the clúster is the Chromed face type

@@marcoserazo2613 Marcos, apologies for the delay.
Looking at the speedo drive coming out of the J-Type, it should rotate clockwise when the car is going forward. The speedo cable will turn anti clockwise where it enters the speedometer union. I'm struggling to understand how it could reverse its motion, but will continue to think about it!
      Regards, Rob
