Fact # 1: Sheep and goat ranchers will keep a donkey around the sheep and goats as their body guard. Why? If a coyote or wolf tries to go after sheep and goats, Donkeys have been known to kick and headbutt coyotes and wolves to DEATH (yes, Donkeys can headbutt and their headbutt attacks are NASTY and can kill to the point where even wolves will lose a fight to a Donkey. Donkeys can also be jerks since they are very territorial and they will attack coyotes and wolves if they even get somewhat close to them (even of the coyote and wolf are minding their own business). Which leads me to the next fact. Fact # 2: While Donkeys aren't normally violent towards humans, they can get VERY stubborn and they will refuse to follow orders sometimes. If a human keeps forcing them over and over and decides to hit the Donkey, the Donkey can become extremely aggravated and will kick or headbutt the human. A kick or headbutt from a Donkey can cause VERY serious pain and damage to a human (and could even cause death depending on which area of the body the Donkey hits a human). There have been SEVERAL reports of Donkeys murdering humans, one of the more nasty reports was down in Brazil during 2021 when a Donkey bit a man on his neck and literally ripped his neck out with his teeth. I remember preordering this because I'm stupid and liked the open beta, and at least during the first month multiplayer was an absolute blast. I clocked like 80 hours on it and I remember it fondly, it sucked ass!
Up until 4 years ago (when I beat Dark Souls 2) I actually was that cryptid. The mystical "TrustMeBro,ThisGameRules!" of the Month One Variant. This game really is great. I can forgive the somewhat forgettable story, odd pacing, and blatant asset reuse, because the gameplay is so entertaining and fun. Besides, anything like MSGV is good at it's worst. This game, to me, is as good as Ground Zeroes. A solid 7-8/10.
It's not a bad basis for a game, it was just executed in the worst way possible. A zombie survival stealth metal gear solid V game with base building and resource gathering in dangerous environments? Colour me interested! Too bad, here's 40 glorified tower defense segments. This reminds me I always wanted an open world ish survival resident evil game.
The problem was that it was called Metal Gear. Game is pretty much a 5/10 that's fun to play for 2 weeks but overpriced even at 40 dollars because it's just reused assets. But since it's made of reused assets, you can't not call it Metal Gear, I guess... But honestly, the way Kojimadrones sperged out about things like the ingame shop (which existed in a much worse form in V) or "how dare you put zombies in Metal Gear, Kojima said zombies should not be in Metal Gear" while Kojima literally invented nano machine zombies was so fucking annoying, Jesus.
I put this one off for many years 'cause of the drama with Hideo and I'm a long time Metal Gear fan, finally picked it up on at a heavy discount a little while ago. Still haven't played it yet, not sure what to expect. I guess one reason I bought it anyways was because the gameplay and controls for MGS5 are so tight, and a joy to work with when you get them down. I was craving more of that. And wasn't completely tired with the "survival/base building" genre that has taken off in past years. But the live service part, YUCK I didn't know that about it. Maybe it's my old brain remembering how things used to be, "Live service, huh? Oh of course, it means they've got some optional online features too." Not realizing, NOPE this bullshit isn't optional, it's always-online even if you only play singleplayer. Putting the worst features in gaming together. LOL, maybe I should go back to my 75% complete Death Stranding save first. Kojima seemed to pull off all the things he was working on already with that one, Guillermo Del Toro is in it, creepy open world environment where you must avoid creatures that are actually completely unlike zombies, and do have a dark and deep backstory to them. Optional online features, and player structures. Yeah, I'm thinking Death Stranding was the game Metal Gear Survive always wanted to be: imaginative, unique, impactful.
I'm honestly a tad bit offended that my country had to be bungled together into "Other South America" Like, why even try to make servers for every country if you aren't even gonna put all of them in the first place? I feel like dividing the servers into the main 6 regions of the world would have been much easier and to the point
Idk I really like Survive. And I haven't even played multiplayer. It ran really nicely on my PS4 Pro. As for the story I love it. It is a bunch of nonsense on its own but once you start thinking about it as a commentary on MGS as a series it's really good imo. Although yeah, always online is always a bummer
This must be bait. You loved the 🐕💩 story? I can’t believe that, it was a huge fk you to Kojima, meant to shit on everything that came before not be commentary on it, the developers straight up said it was made to be a fk you to Kojima and his franchise that they stole 😂 I bet Marvel’s Avengers is one of your favourite games too lol
I still to this day have no idea why they decided to even put the words metal gear in the title, I wish they would’ve just done something original with this concept. It may have been better received
Ik this has nothing to do with metal gear, but the always internet thing, why is that a thing? I bought Hitman and didnt know i literally needed to be connected as i play to actually play the game. I tried staying offline, but it says i didnt buy it until i go online then offline afterwards.
Stand-alone game it’s alright, getting achievements are a pain. Co-op is fun with friends. Shouldn’t have been a MGS game but it’s abbreviations says otherwise. 5/10
I enjoyed MGS. My only issue with the game was that it had the metal gear name. That and the cutscenes weren't great, nor was the base building outside of multiplayer. The multiplayer was fun as hell though.
I'm enjoying my time with it "I'm not going to bother to explain because the game doesn't" except they did... I guess when you're just looking for views you dgaf to pay attention. let me give you an explanation based of my extremely limited(4 hours so far) time with the game. The teleporting is tech used in MGSV, you know when you fulton stuff and it goes through the portal. anyway that doesn't matter, the zombies are infected with an organism which I can't recall the name of because I've only played a couple of hours so far. The organism has been making it's way to our world, like via the unstable rifts created from utilized this teleporation technology. ya know... you're infected? even though you've died you regenerate everything easily? That organism is responsible for killing the world you're sent to. When vocal cord parasites and nanomachines exist in this universe to wave off all manner of BS... well, I'm fine with that explanation. Oh well. I also like how you can actually get lost in The Dust because until you've explored the map you don't actually appear on it.
You know I do want to play this game just to try it out. Ik sure its very mid but I like the mgsv engine and base building. It never seems to go on sale though. Im not paying $60 for this shit
I never understood why people hated this game. I played it with a few friends and we had fun. Not great, but a stupid little zombie game. It was my first metal gear game, so the zombies confused the shit out of me because the only thing I knew about MG was Snake from Smash Bros. And then I played MGS3, MGS5, and MGRR and then I got why people were so upset. It would have been OK if it was just a zombie horror survival game, but the Metal Gear namesake makes so little sense.
People hated it because the first metal gear came out in 1987. And had been making the same genre and gameplay for 20 years. That’s a whole generation growing up on these games. Then they fired the man who had been making the games for said 20 years, and changed the story and gameplay. So they made a not metal gear game called metal gear. If it was called anything else with any other title it might’ve done better.

This is a clip of it.
Holy fuck he is alive
I like this type of contents,especially cotroversial games,thank you❤
"They call me... Dan."
"Oh, mighty Dan..."
i loved the game but after sometime i gut tired of looking for resources
without moral obligation to be obsessed with the context of being a metal gear fan
the game was fire, the writing was oblivious but man was the Mulitplayer fun to meet up with this grassroots kinda community and just min-max it out JRPG style
You know I only clicked on this because I was bored, then I read the pin of shame and decided to stick it out to see if the video was actually bad, but man Painticus you really surprised me this was a really good video man, loved it!
"if you needed more salt to rub into that already grossly overseasoned wound" is a fucking amazing phrase and i'm totally going to steal it. sorry
Yes! Glad you're back, sorry about all your issues though...
Your channel is a gem. I glad that the algorithm gods recommend it to me.
Great review mate. I always wondered what the full game would feel like
I remember I tried out survive near release and I thought it was okay, then I played the phantom pain and it really put things into perspective
I just discovered your channel, but i gotta say your work is incredible! Definitely subscribed and will be binging your content!
Comment to boost your channel interaction because I loved this video & the writing
wait, sahelanthropus being here makes no sense. huey didnt invent it yet
I just realised that mgs4 is the only mgs game that has you control a metal gear, in a pretty awesome fight might I add, man I love mgs4, its gameplay is so fun, and so many ways to approach a situation....oh wait...this is metal gear survive...
"try to imagine playing defense for 15 MINUTES!"
an undetermined amount of time later:
"OH MY GOD I JUST SPENT 40 MINUTES WATCHING THIS"
good video by the way, I actually really watched the entire thing
When it comes to cooking Gordon is an absolute expert at roasting literally anyone for the flaws in their approach to it
That chills impression got you the subscribe from me 😂😂
My favorite is when a medium sized cyborg fights a polition
Appropriate that my notification sound is the codec chime
New paint vid! Just in time for cryptid month
28:08 "Dan... Internal database match for one such individual" There's only One Guy called Dan in Hell???
"I want another FOX Engine game!"
>monkeys paw curls
14:20 feel like you're pulling our leg here, because that building is literally a copy paste from one of the first outposts you visit in MGS5, the one where you have to assassinate some lieutenant or something.
Edit 16:00 well shieeeet, shoulda have waited before commenting
I saw the window after picking the timestamp and somehow that immediately told me where that was
I remember preordering this because I'm stupid and liked the open beta, and at least during the first month multiplayer was an absolute blast. I clocked like 80 hours on it and I remember it fondly, it sucked ass!
Great video can’t believe you don’t have more subs discoverability really is shit at least I found it :)
The games singleplayer couldve had potential: playing as snake and fighting zombies as one with a good narrative
A solid 7-8/10.
your heart is a muscle the size of your fist
The fact that it’s 23 minutes into the video and you haven’t made a single gun is really weird.
mgs survive exists and so does Painticus exist
The giant jelly fish is one of two endgame boss fights, the other being a giant dinosaur looking thing called "Big Mouth." No really. Big Mouth.
If Koj directed, I'd say it was a The Smiths reference... guess not, though
Welcome back man. I missed your videos a lot. Have you tried fear and hunger?. Its a bit nsfw but i think you might enjoy it
Dan after watching this video. “😢”
I can forgive the rock zombies because enemies using wierd black and red rocks is just a thing Metal Gear Solid 5 did too
They did the Fox Engine dirty.
Shoulda called your guy Gas Snake
You had me at little guy fights big robot go on...
I said the same thing about this game, makes you understand that this game should have solely stuck to multiplayer lol
He has returned!
Welcome back!
Of course you send those animals to the blender dimension
Mgs3 had you walking through the afterlife. And that wasn't a shark jump
No you don’t. The sorrow just conjures ghosts which is the most far fetched the series ever gets. This is an entirely separate dimension
I'm honestly a tad bit offended that my country had to be bungled together into "Other South America"
Like, why even try to make servers for every country if you aren't even gonna put all of them in the first place? I feel like dividing the servers into the main 6 regions of the world would have been much easier and to the point
It does exist. I have played it. Also welcome back.
i love this game the idea was fun but not making a new base halfway through 💀💀💀💀
Idk I really like Survive. And I haven't even played multiplayer. It ran really nicely on my PS4 Pro. As for the story I love it. It is a bunch of nonsense on its own but once you start thinking about it as a commentary on MGS as a series it's really good imo. Although yeah, always online is always a bummer
This is the most bizarre and absurd opinion on the game I have ever seen. And people actually agreed with you? Absolutely nuts.
@@yoursonisold8743 Imagine having an opinion, what a loser right?
Story is still better than Kingdom Hearts
@@moister3727My Robocop X Terminator fanfics are better than Kingdom Hearts.
5:44 why does everyone in this forsaken community call their avatars "John Metal Gear"
5:20
Well, there’s also two Persona 2s, but nobody mentions that.
Innocent Sin, and, uhh… other one. I can’t ever remember the subtitle.
I had a good time with game. Multiplayer was surprisingly fun, didn't run into a ton of players, but still had fun killing zombies.
Appropriately depressing, I'd say precisely so.
Hes back.... HES BACK!
Pouring salt in a wound disinfects it and helps with clotting, making it a good thing.
I still to this day have no idea why they decided to even put the words metal gear in the title, I wish they would’ve just done something original with this concept. It may have been better received
return of the king
So America did deliver
Ik this has nothing to do with metal gear, but the always internet thing, why is that a thing? I bought Hitman and didnt know i literally needed to be connected as i play to actually play the game. I tried staying offline, but it says i didnt buy it until i go online then offline afterwards.
I don't why they just excused the lore of this game as a in-universe video game diamond dog soldiers play in motherbase
This game should always and only ever be referred to as "Metal Gear Rotting".
By the way, have you seen some of the games made by Yames? They seem up your alley.
"...why are the donkeys in hell?" cracked me up good lmao.
Thank you for your bravery good sir
Not so much "hell", but just another dimension. It's pretty much the same locations as MGSV, just in another universe.
13:15 For fucking dragons.
I'm enjoying my time with it
"I'm not going to bother to explain because the game doesn't" except they did...
Oh well. I also like how you can actually get lost in The Dust because until you've explored the map you don't actually appear on it.
an open world zombie game where you build stuff and collect packages and carry people across a whole map, what is this, death stranding?
Ay don’t lump that masterpiece in with this 😂
27:53 Hey fuck you man. Dan is a good name.
Bruh if this was directly wfter mgs 5 gz then walker gears werent even invented
Lmao nevermind
