24:20 fwiw, the colossus IS actually based on real folklore. Basically, 3 miners got stuck in during a cave in that was due to, fitting to 76's themes - shitty mining corporation corner cutting. When the cave was reopened. Only two miners were present. The third one had supposedly died and the body had gone missing. The common assumption being: the two survivors killed and ate the third one out of desperate hunger. The colossus you were trying to encounter was created under the exact same circumstances. If you had talked to a woman in that settlement you nuked, you would've heard her ask you to find what happened to her father. Opening up the mine, you find he and his miner buddies got drunk on the last day of the mine's profitable lifespan and made a mess because their boss (who is brought up in other places) wasn't going to renew their contract. The mining company ''''''accidentally'''''' closes the mine with them in it - and over the course of a month he and his friends turn to cannibalism - until there was only three people left one of them being that father. That's why the colossus has three heads if you haven't seen it. You can chose to tell the girl a white lie and say her father died trying to keep his friends alive for as long as possible, tell her the objective truth, or just say you saw a weird monster.
I will admit, I have watched and listened to this video many times, but even still, the "bugs" section makes me feel in a way that I can't truly explain. You're an inspiration paint, thank you.
One of the great tragedies of our age is having to go so long without a new Painticus video. I'm so glad to see you back man! You bring us a lot of joy weather you believe it or not.
Oh, also! You should've seen what point pleasant looks like nowadays - they totally fleshed it out with how the cult came to be and how their religion works. The interloper also got fleshed out further in an update you probably overlooked - the interloper has an offspring!
I know I'm vert late to the party. But others people's nukes do work to get to the windiego collossus fight. You just gotta join the fight when it tells ya the event is up
I found the Flatwoods Monster 3 times and each time I shot it, it got to half health and instantly teleported into nothingness. Like it was even gone from the compass.
I for one would like to say thank you for showing us these cool bugs. In all seriousness though your videos and channel as a whole are great and has brought me endless enjoyment.
At this point I'm wondering if we're ever going to get out of cryptid month, or if we will live out the rest of our squalid existence in a limbo of bad collision, stock unity lighting effects, and a suspicious absence of badly applied film grain filters. And also, thank you for sharing your cool bugs with us. I, at the very least, do genuinely look forward to your uploads and have enjoyed every video you've uploaded so far. So here's to you, sharer of bugs, entertainer of, like, at least 600 people or so.
My mom took care of the lady who was the teacher involved w the Flatwoods Monster when she worked in a nursing home. She believed her, was a nice lady from what I've been told, never met her myself tho.
Another excellent entry of Cryptid Month(s), was definitely not expecting Fallout 76 as a topic for this series. There are a few cryptids here I've never heard of, the Flat Woods Monster in particular is very intriguing, so I'll definitely be doing further research into these. Also, Mothman's design in this game is so pretty! Hearing you talk about discovering a Mothman and a Flatwoods Monster close together after just starting the game was really heartwarming, you sharing these kind of experiences from games is one of the main reasons I love your channel so much. I'm always excited to see the next weird bug you've found.
Fallout 2 has a ghost. Actual ghost. No explanation. It's just there and it's not radioactive. It's just a ghost... And I kind of like it? Sure it could be explained but the game respects the player enough to not do that.
I know I am literally 3 years late but it's been a few months since I picked up 76, if you're looking for someone to do the nuke mission with I've not wanted to do it alone and would be more than happy to join your party for the sake of weird bugs.
God damn this video was beautiful! I love that this game really gave you want you came for. It's weird when games work in you favour and remind you why you love them in the first place. I remember I did a video on the fear of giant in games and when I was getting my footage in SKYRIM and talking about the dragons and giants, Two dragons spawned and floor around me not attacking as I did a cool panning shot, that I used as the finale shot of the video.
You're awesome and you make awesome stuff. I small studio I follow is working on a game called `Mothmen 1966` and a demo is available. I've not played it myself yet, but I am a fan of their other work. You expressed a deep love for all things Mothman so I thought I'd let you know in case you find it interesting :)
I liked the battle royale, it was a lot of fun, tho it definitely lacked content and had issues. I'd say generally BRs are not my favorite genre, but there's one or two that I've enjoyed over the years. It's popular to hate on em, but I think it's a bit unfair. I remember all the WoW clones and tbh, a few of those were actually decent games, same thing w BRs. I beat the main story for F76 back when there were no real npcs. I kinda miss it cuz it just felt...bizarre. It was insane how they released it as a giant broken buggy mess, and while it's mostly been fixed, it does make me distrustful of anything made by em...but I respect deciding to do something weird and experimental w the og release not having npcs. It was especially insane to create that freakin' dmv section. I mean, who the hell does that?
"Cryptid month is a cryptid in on itself" Fallout 76 is a great example on how to NOT formulate your gameplay. I haven't played it myself, but everyone I had the pleasure to interact with (or watch) who has, they never explicitly say that they had a great time.
So you do an in depth commentary on the “Cryptid’s” in a Fallout 76. But because you don’t actually play 76, it turns into a critique of the game. I thought this would actually have useful info on the creatures. But this is literally like so many other UA-camrs complaining about 76 but it’s just 2 years too late. People actually waited for this video to be released?

Man, hearing all these valid complaints. I'm glad 76 improved on a lot of these issues. ESPECIALLY the quest design.
how tf do you only have 3k subs?
He should have way more
MISSED YOU PAINTICUS!! I got here so quick the audio wasnt working on the video 🤣

Always love that dry humor in your vids. Glad to see you making them again.
Welcome back! Missed your content man!
Fantastic content man, looking forward to seeing your channel blow up!
i feel sadness that cryptic month has come and gone
I audibly gasped when I saw the Flatwoods Monster appear with the Mothman, so much serotonin! You show us those bugs damnit!
Thank you for this video. An thank you for sharing some of your gaming adventures with us.
Moth man is in Shin Megami Tensei games and hes super cute! They even sold a figure of him

Are mega sloths really cryptids? They're just the state fossil I thought.
OMG it actually came out
It's been a long month, Arrrash
That ending though, I fucking loved your reaction

The Flatwoods Monster spawned right near my base and then despawned
Fucking FINALLY. That was a helluva cliffhanger from the Mothman video.
Painticus videos are always interesting, even if the subject is about Fallout 4.

Will this mend my broken heart.
"You are suffering from Bone Worms."
Haha. what?

We love you Paint.
Came for the cryptids, stayed to watch you lose your mind over this game
Yeah the silo mission is supposed to be done by a group.

Cryptid moment
"Apple atcha"
So named after the person who named it threw some rotten fruit at someone they didn't think very highly of.
