Hah, the implication that Gabbro is so dedicated to lounging around in a hammock he rebuilds his whole little hangout spot every 22 minutes is amazing.
Fun fact that I don't think the game points out anywhere - eating roasted (not burnt) marshmallows actually heals you. This was very useful for me when I explored the Stranger, because I'm clumsy and it's easier to find a fire than go back to your ship.
@@mapppkyc6698 It actually heals a percentage of your max HP based on how close it is to being "perfect" (golden yellow). Perfect marshmallows heal 100% of your HP, untoasted or burnt marshmallows heal 0%, and everything else scales between that.
Hi, I am actually one of the members of the Council of Space Vampires. We are a little concerned about your curiosity about the coffin in chains. Please don't disturb the one hidden inside :)
I've watched a few playthroughs of The Outer Wilds by now, but the way you edit yours, especially with the OW-flavoured intro and outro, makes it IMO one of the most watchable and enjoyable playthroughs I've seen.
To respond to your comments on the Ash Twin Project, the time loop was designed to be autonomous. The project would only pull Nomai into the loop if the project was successful or there was a failure. And a success is what happened; the hatchling was only pulled into the loop after 9 billion probes were launched in random directions, and one of them finally found the Eye. The Nomai did not expect to repeatedly die. From their perspective, they would flip the switch to start the project and blow up the sun in 22 minutes, then the statues would activate because the time loops had already happened and found the Eye. They would then turn the project off, gather the coordinates that had appeared in the Tracking Module, and travel to the Eye. It would be as though the loops never happened, the coordinates just appeared from nowhere.
To extend further on this: When a loop ends and memories are sent back in time, the timeline stops "existing", since the past has been rewritten by sending memories back in time. Now, multiverse theory could argue against this, but the fact that you break spacetime if you enter the ash twin black hole in one loop but not in the next proves that multiverse theory is wrong in the Outer Wilds canon. Because of this, you are never actually blown up by the supernova in Outer Wilds (As long as you don't fail the final voyage), the only "you" that exists entered the Eye.
the concept is sort of similar to the Time Travelers Party (where you archive an invitation to a party at a specific time in hopes that in the future we discover time travel and pull up the records and someone visits the party from the future)
im guessing your misuse of the word pull them in should have been made them aware. because everyones in the 400 year long hellish loop of being burned alive 3x per hour
This is the topic where I have a different perspective. To me every loop happened even though they technically were erased. So the Hatchling experiences death or being lost in space every loop. Every is very much real. The Nomai would have killed themselves repeatedly had they were successful invoking a supernova. I know time travel aspect of it makes it a lot more complicated and "we won't really know" but it kind of relates to the question of consciousness in SOMA 😄
@@LeDoctorBones Hmm, food for thoughts here because I had came to the exact opposite conclusion - that once the memories are sent back, our poor traveler is left in their dying universe (if still alive that is). Simply put, I believed that 'memories transfer is not equal to consciousness transfer' : At the beginning of each loop, the reminiscence of your past memories makes you and your character believe that you are still the same person because you can remember previous loops, but it is actually an illusion and at the end of every loop, the traveler (re)discovers that their consciousness is not actually transfers after the 22mn loop ends, only their memories to their 'past self' - actively creating an alternate reality with every loop...and our poor traveler realization that all this time, they were always actually dying at the end of most. I'm a not sure to understand how your argument proves that multiverse theory is wrong in OW tho...but I have the feeling you are right, I just have trouble to understand why.

Ah, dang it, I was really hoping you wouldn't be so resourceful and go to sleep with the artifact. I just feel like it's maybe more satisfying to not discover that until late after you've followed all the breadcrumbs. Oh well. Definitely looking forward to seeing the rest of the playthrough.
To be honest, I crushed myself on purpose when I was playing because I wanted to see what would happen. I mean I got an achievement out of it so I guess it was worth it
Having seen the last episode in this series first, I found it kinda funny how you were able to easily set the artifact back down but in the final episode you'd completely forgotten how to do that.
I found it interesting to see a different learning curve with the projectors.
