Thank you for being one of the few rc channels that doesn't yell at me through the whole video. I mean I appreciate the enthusiasm from some of these guys but damn the whole video
You are hands down one of my favorite RC channels on UA-cam. You have always had a friendly disposition and enjoyable content that keeps me laughing throughout the entire video as well as amazed at how detailed you make the entire build experience. Thank you brother 🙏
They make a belt drive kit for the Xmaxx for using a big boy motor. I don't have it on mine but from what I've seen it's pretty good and durable. Exocaged has it on his all aluminum Vitavon 12S Xmaxx.
A great benefit of that Radiomaster transmitter is if you have the 4 in 1 module, it can connect to most any receiver, so you can use it for any car in your fleet.
Great video sir... I'm also into building fpv quadcopters which gets very finicky sometimes but everytime I've gotten stuck I always resort to UA-cam and it always pulls through for me. Got to love UA-cam. If there's a issue guarantee UA-cam has a tutorial about it!! Have a great day sir Tomley and the truck looks awesome!!!
This so dang awesome! A picture popped up yesterday on one of the RC pages of the motors setup and my first thought was "Huh, wonder if thats Tomelys rig?" Very sweet!
I remember the reviews you did on the hg trucks, I bought them on the strength of those, I've still got them, the point I'm making , is your reviews are direct and to the point and I for one, value them very much.
That is my favorite RC ever, I want one so badly lol.. hope they still sell them when I can finally afford to get one lol. Thanks for showing the build process, building is almost as fun as driving imo
@@TomleyRCit'd be pretty amazing if there was a way for one of us to win one. If only there were such a way possible... Some sort of contest where one can buy chances in a drawing might work. Know anything similar? I paid over $20 for a few chances on a Raminator from some small shouty chap and I don't really even want a Raminator. Surely there's enough of us to make it financially feasible.
Man this project looks really awesome!!! I've been waiting for part 2 and can't wait for part 3. If I'd live in the UK, I'd love to see this behemoth in real life. Good luck and enjoy the build! And enjoy your time with the family!!
OMG that thing is an achingly beautiful piece of machinery. Every now and then you find a mechine that's also a piece of precision art and this beast falls into that category! 😉👌
Another way to achieve all wheel steering on the MT12 is to use the rotary dial P2 for the rear servo and use your thumb to rotate it. That way you can choose rear only, AWS,crab and how much steering throw you want rather than have the throws dictated by pre-set end points and how much,if at all, you steer the front wheels.
That is definitely the smartest hardcore kit I know of! So cool you have it an even cooler for showing us an letting me see it drive an put together 🙏👍
Awesome stuff Phil 👍🏻 What a machine that is!! Well done on the build! Great to see the maiden run! Can't wait to see it finished and parked next to a tiny X-max 😂. Big props aswell buddy for packing so much into the videos and NOT dragging it out forever. Good on you sir!
Seriously I want you to know that this is probably the closest I’ll ever get to one of these cool behemoths. Waaay out of my monetary abilities. Thanks for the video Phil. Keep it up and please don’t change 👍👍
The radio is a super good one from all the reviews I've seen. A bit complex for a beginner like me but it sure is cool how you have the steering set up. Man this build is so incredible. I think the duel motor setup is the coolest. Very nice share Tomley. Love it... 🏁
This build rocks so hard!!!!!! I was literally clapping when it pushed the door open 🤣😎🤘 those servos are no joke I just put one in my dbxle2 and it’s wild how fast and powerful they are
LMAO, I love the little mini jack stands. Over the last year or so I watched a few videos here and there, but this build got me to subscribe. Very cool! I cant wait to see more.
Loe this build! You say you may never do one of these again, but I think this is a seriously great set of videos, and Cross RC has had my attention for a while! Keep up the great work, I truly enjoy it!
This would be absolutely perfect to recreate a Tatra Firetruck. I built the water pumps in very custom configurations for them. When I was working for S&S Fire in Fairmount, Indiana. The Tatra itself is a modern marvel in itself. But being able to attack fires with it made it a very integral part of fire fighting. And ofcourse they are gigantic pieces of machinery.
I built a mad 6x6 King Yellow school bus with 4-wheel steering, and I wanted a setup like yours - conventional and crab steering. The RC6GS transmitter from RadioMaster will do steering mode mixing, but only after installing a specific firmware. UA-cam University saved the day for me, too 🙂 In the end it was pretty easy, but after a couple 2 minute videos I probably saved an hour of fiddling.
Yeah, I think it’s easier on this if you use the optional switches that connect to the bottom. But as this thing has so many functions, I didnt want to waste 2 (well, 3) channels just for the steering
That truck is just pure awesome. I think it's another of those things I'd like to build, but not so much to buy or own. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Wow-thats not something i would go for, but that is one heck of a piece of engineering, and turning into a beast of a build-love the motor positioning, like a v8 with the cooling and timing belts🥰
Great build mate! LOVE the fpv video!!!! It would be cool to see the view of going forward too! Nothing but upgrades from herel. Thanks for sharing bud!!!
I'm so glad that I found this! I had to upgrade my 80kg servos to the 100kg. The 80s weren't bringing the steering back to center. I also switched out the drive gear from 12t to a 15t. I also had the same problem with the loose steering. I didn't tighten the linkages. After watching this, I'm buying two brushless motors and 130a ESCs! Omg! Your rig absolutely hauls-ass! Mine goes ok but the brushless motors look like a huge upgrade, compared to the brushed 775s, that come with it. I painted mine forest green with some blue highlights and the guns are black and grey. What colour will yours be? James
Just finished up snow tracks for my 6x6. Waiting for the next snow here in Northern Michigan. No way i could've built it without Buwizz! I recommend using a product sinilar to Glad Press N Seal for waterproofing panels. Loving the new controller update!
After you get everything done and it's all good. You should try and go 8s or something crazy and see how fast you could possibly get that thing. Motor set up is a thing of beauty on that.
So if you wanted to go sensored, you could use the esc’s out of the SCX6, which uses the same sensor cable as the regular HobbyWing G2 motors, and it’s obviously s capable, and that esc has FOC, and obviously drag break. They are expensive as hell on Horizon, but significantly cheaper on Jenny’s RC. That is my go to crawler esc now. I use it in my TRX4’s and SCX10’s with the 42 series HW 4s 2500kv motors.
So here's a challenge for you, as I was seeing you be pulled by it. Build a double fith wheel trailer kinda like the US heavy haul trailers, and mounting a seat to be driven by it at a show. 2-3 axels on the first 5th wheel that connects to the truck, this is to ensure the weight is over those axel and not putting too much pressure on the truck while still allowing the truck to drag the trailers along The 2nd 5th wheel having 3-4 axels and ensuring that most of the weight is over them put your seat either directly above or just in front of the wheels, this is for the same reason as the first. Now if you're concerned about the weight still being an issue on the trailer, I would consider doing the 4 axels with a tag-a-long of 3 more right behind them, this is purely for leverage and would connect to the frame of the 2nd trailer and can turn freely as needed. If I had the money and means to do it myself, it would be done. You have, by what I have so far seen, the most powerful Hobbyist RC. Put it to use
Nice build! It would be cool if the chassis would twist or pivot in the middle so the front could rotate independently a bit from the rear to keep the tires on the ground.
Thank you for being one of the few rc channels that doesn't yell at me through the whole video. I mean I appreciate the enthusiasm from some of these guys but damn the whole video
I don’t do the whole ‘UA-cam’ shouty voice. I’d rather people called me boring than have to shout at a camera all day lol.
Same, that's also why i always prefer Tomley over the others. 😂
I so hate that, shouty channels just feel as though they are made for small children.
This! Sorry for shouting it. I cannot watch video where shouting all the time. I believe we are still in minority but luckily we have Mr. Tomley Tom.

That belt drive is awesome. Now I picture a drag RC with dual belt motors, and a clear lexan cover over them for visual appeal.
Shaft driven, leave the pulleys poking out of the hood

This so dang awesome! A picture popped up yesterday on one of the RC pages of the motors setup and my first thought was "Huh, wonder if thats Tomelys rig?" Very sweet!
Can't wait to see this beast finished. That would be killer with a sound effects box on it
Very unique never seen anything like this before. Love the motors and the belt drive
It's epic! I do enjoy the occasional big build. It's as insane as the pricetag. Can't wait to see it pull your truck.
That is absolutely brilliant fella. I love the noise it makes from the gearbox and belts
Yeah.. holding the sound box is decent as well
What a fantastic build, it oozes quality, it runs so smoothly. Superb. Sensational.
