Lyrics:
You better leave, you better leave my little girl alone
You better leave, you better leave my little girl alone
Lord before I get evil man, and I go and do something wrong
You call my house, just yesterday
I picked up the extension and I heard every word you say
Why don't you just go, man and leave my little girl alone
Now before I get evil man, and I go and do something wrong
You call my house all hours of the night
Let me tell you mister that's a sure, sure way to start a fight
Why don't you just go on man and leave my little girl alone
Lord before I get evil man and I'm gonna do something wrong

That voice! All know his guitar but few mention that he was blessed with a bluesman’s voice.
I firmly believe if he just sang and jimmy played lead we'd be missing one of the greatest VOICES in all of music- yes, guitar playing aside [hard to imagine]
When I was a lot younger, I was mainly paying attention to his guitar godness, but you're right... I've been listening to him a lot again lately, and his voice really fit his material. Damned good job.
I think Gary Moore is in that same category he had a great Blues voice but no one ever talks about it
Totally agree!👍🏻😎
How very very true, SRV had a pair to produce the gravel, timber and phrasing that he had, as well as a ability to play that only a person is born with, you really only ever come across that gift maybe a few times in a life time, his timing was like a metronome, good comment, cheers from Oz
In my opinion the greatest guitar player ever
Hendrix takes all
@@The1trueking1966 No he doesnt. Hendrix never had the technicality, nor the virtuosity. People just like to parrot what they hear. Someone who plays the guitar and understands music (and honest) will tell you fair and square: Hendrix is not the greatest, never was.
A lot of people fail to mention how iconic his voice was and is. Fabulous fucking voice to go with the best blues chops this earth has ever seen.
No argument here
I think it’s cause he’s in a genre with BB King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, etc. Also, his guitar work is so good people forget about his vocals.
I agree with you 100 percent amazing
His vocals really were under appreciated in so many ways....great point. And now, the great 82-year old Buddy Guy gives him homage. Pretty astounding.
Stevie was the best ever fo sho!
This solo makes me want to run through 10 walls
Nobody...nobody plays as hard, crisp, and clean as Stevie! Hands down the best guitar player EVER!
love those rapid fire licks in that solo. wow.
Ken Graff. This guy had his shit together!!
best BLUES guitar player ever. Guthrie Govan is probably the best I have ever heard as far as technique and overall mastery of the instrument. Don't me wrong, SRV is my favorite player but to say he's "the best" is subjective.
Ken Graff soo jimi was an innovator....without jimi there would be no jimi. With that said and the fact that I don't know crap about guitar playing or music.....it's hard NOT to say he is the best. My ears tell me so. Love jimi though...I think they are equally great in their own way. Man I just said two different things.....either way.....I love Srv! I may break my starter pack guitar thing trying to learn this song!
@@LEEMURJ lol - I agree that if I had to choose just one player to point to to put an encyclopedia under the description; "guitar player" he is my choice. But there are a whole slew of players out there that will blown your mind - may I suggest Gary Moore, Guthrie Govan, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Joe Bonamassa, Steve Via, Marcus King, Jeff Healey, Warren Haynes - to name a few. Still SRV is the guy I would most want to emulate and I do try my best to do that. I am a player and I do play mostly blues and a lot of SRV. To what degree of success would be for others to say....lol
I remember watching a clip of him playing this on a concert DVD when my daughter, now 32, was a child. She walked into the living room, listened, and said "it's like he's cussing with his guitar". I've never been more proud. Nailed it.
that is AWESOME
😂👍🏻
2:08 his yells before jumping into the most ridiculous face melting solos that send your soul through every dimension of the universe are so iconic.
Today was the day ✝️ You've been missed by many Stevie! 😢❤
best moment....
Today is October 3rd. It would have been Stevie's 68th birthday. Happy birthday you sweet Gentle Spirit. You made planet Earth a beautiful place to be!🎶🎸🙏🏻❤
I love Stevie's passionate, intense expressions while he plays. He feels every note as well as every word in the songs he sings. Man he is missed.....
Yup. Feels every note. His guitar is a limb.....glad he gave us all he could all the time.
2:11
AKA “Stankface”.
its cause hes zooted on amphetamines to be able to play what amounts to barbed wire for strings
He's simply amazing, i'm not even a guitar fan but if I was ever gana listen to expertise, he's definitely it! An incredibly talented man who I never met, but respect deeply & listen to endlessly. Nobody can deny his amazing talent, guitar playing & voice. I'm 52 & am moved beyond words each time I watch & listen to him play. I am not an authority but recognise a one-off when I hear them. May God hold him & keep him
It’s not an exaggeration to say that SRV singlehandedly redefined the Blues.
The second coming of the blues
Saved the blues
Damn straight
U r so right, he played with the best of the blues masters n he felt every note he played I call that Divine Talent straight from the Lord himself. And u could tell he luvd every second of it,but didn't we all?
@@owenroberts3918 Dude there will never b another SRV I would never take anything from his excellence. I should bore his children.
Note to self: Leave his little girl alone. Thou shalt not mess with Stevie.
He meant that s--t!
You leave this girl alone.saw him in Denver 1982.so damn loud and I have been to 1000 concerts.2.50$ for that memorable show
Stevie in concert or live sounds flawless. No one can compare!!!!
Yep...wouldn't mess with SRV...I bet he MEANT every word of this song "gonna do something wrong" - he would kick booty for sure
Hell to the yeah baby
God I love those growls just before he shreds the living hell out of it 🥰
yeah he's just making sure you leave his girl alone
@@hamueramusic lmfao
I’m 32 years old and just recently discovered the amazingness of SRV. From his voice to the way he plays, I’ve just been kinda blown away all around. IMO, I think it’s hard to find ANY music “written” nowadays that would come close to comparing.
"I think it’s hard to find ANY music “written” nowadays that would come close to comparing." Gee, ya think? : )
Better late then never. I was lucky to have a Dad with awesome music taste.
No guitar god comes close to SRV he's got it all. He is the BEST!
Go even further back now that you found Vaughan. This song was written when he was like 12 years old.
You want ever find that again.
RIP to SRV who died 29 years ago today. The man was and always will be a legend.
and legends live forever!
Caught him just a few days earlier at the Gorge in Washington state with Joe Cocker opening up. It was a religious experience !
Pause at 1:59
That is my face when i listen to SRV Music
😂😂😂
LMFAO
The perfect guitar face
Mines at 3:50
@@ClickClan100 all the stank-face in the world comes on when we listen to Stevie 😂😂
Not seen in the video: Firemen stationed outside ready to rush in after Stevie burned the house down with that solo....
The greatest electric blues player ever!!
I've just been watching a few clips of John Mayer playing the blues and I swear he could be the new Stevie Ray - his chops are clear, crisp and solid sort of a mix between Stevie Ray and Hendrix
@@SteveInQLD007 Been getting into JM allot as well lately and I think he's an absolutely fantastic player. One of the best alive. Saying he's the next SRV is still a huge stretch! Stevie was one of a kind and John does his best learning from what Stevie left us. After all, JM is a SRV fanatic. He inducted Stevie in the RRHF and was blessed enough to hire on Rene Martinez and his lead guitar tech. Yep, that was Stevie's tech and he's a master! Just another reason Mayer sounds as good as he does.
I would kindly give that title to Lightnin Hopkins
cmc2234, lots of folks can play the same as Stevie Ray Vaughan man. The difference is he was the first to do it, so he innovatived this style of playing and that’s what makes him great. John Mayer is a hell of a guitarist as well and he can mimic SRV, but Kenny Wayne Shepherd from Shreveport Louisiana is a carbon copy of SRV playing. Check him out and you truly can’t tell the difference because he copies SRV that much.
Jeremy Minter that’s fair
The king of guitar playing
There will literally never be a Stevie. No matter how good you are. U just not him or near.
.
Yes sir
SRV is "other worldly" its not even NATURAL...except to him
There is another guitarist who in my opinion can reach the srv intensity its Phillip sayce an amazing player
You just cant come away listening to this without saying this is by far the greatest guitar work ever performed.
Hot Damn!
SRV has 1000’s of genius Solos, this solo is top 5 for me 💯🎸
These Berkley guys are fumbling with delays and Myxolydian scales and he's flipping cars and busses with a pinky, lol.
Just think people with 1/10th of his talent are called legends
Yeah, In fact there is one with 1 millionth of the talent called John Legend 😂
Stevie got me through some of the darkest times of my life just crying my heart out either if it was playing his music on my guitar or listening to it. Thank you stevie. Rip
Me too man, me too
Seen Steve at the ppaca alive and live concert best I concert I ever seen
Same man, for my whole life I’ve carried guilt and shame and many times I’ve wanted to put a pistol in my mouth and just be done.. when I heard texas flood it made me pickup my guitar and give it and give live another chance.. since then he’s been one of the biggest inspirations in my life.. I kicked drugs and alcohol almost 7 years ago now.. I’ve listened to him pretty much every day, listening to all the bootlegs I can find. I plan to go visit him one day and thank him
This is the greatest solo I've ever seen by any of the greats. He dug real deep on this one!
I have never heard anything approaching this solo. Maybe, just maybe, his solo on Ain't Gone Give Up on Love, from Live Alive.
Maybe he is showing or sharing some of his emotions!! ?? 😊❤ 4:50
I think the fucked up part is that there was no digging. My man was just a straight up channel.
SRV was brilliant but really? The best solo by any of the greatest blues players one could care to mention? Come on...
A gutsy, slow blues powerfully sung by a real man. It makes this lady just want to melt in his arms. 🎸
Stevie has that effect on a lot of ladies......including me. ;)
layde1 Me too.❤️💖♥️🎸
Amen to that .... makes any woman want to be the one he's talking about in this song!
I love when I see other ladies that get his sexiness ! It was a Good given gift like his music skills.
Hell to the yeah honey
Never gets old! I like the way he takes a breath before he gets serious! The best there ever was !
Holy crap, I expected to see blood coming from his fingers with that one......That was intense!!
Yea
I saw a picture of him with the tips of his fingers showing. They were black on the ends. He gave it hiis best and that better than anyone on this planets. Gone to soon.We miss you stevie.
Playing on those 13s, had to be hard enough. But he played with such intensity that he would literally tear his finger tips off , glue them back on and keep rocking!
I played that guitar solo about just like that on stage the other night. The other guitarist looked over and asked me if I had any fingers left.... I'm using 10's. I can't imagine playing that solo on 13's.
I was an Exchange student from Denmark just moved to Mt. Clemens Michigan in 1990, when this was aired live in the television - I had just purchased their newly released In Step album, but never witnessed his raw power on stage. I’ll never forget the impact this performance had on me sitting there on the couch jaw-dropped by how much power and soul he put into this performance, and musical life and path was forever changed. Still to this day I refer to this performance as one of the most powerful blues performances ever recorded live - so good and yes, never seen better since then.
I fucking LOVE how Stevie just concentrates every inch of his body right before this 2:10 explosion and yells with it - my man had PASSION!
The tone, the feel, the dynamic between the voice and the guitar, the union with the band and the passion and soul put forth, is unmatched for me. This is definitely one of my favs. Thanks Stevie and Double Trouble!
tienes toda la razón amigo!!!!!!!!
The passion of a great bluesman !
This version of the performance is one of the best of Stevie. Why?.... Just dig it.
This was later in his career after he got off some of the “substances”.
It’s hard to believe but he was getting more precise and even faster!
Simple song that really showcases how much he was still improving.
the scream at 2:11 was a power up to level 2
Honestly, the man could sing just as good as he played guitar
I feel like his voice perfectly complemented his playing
I liked his voice, but he could shred that Fender! I have to say for me, I'm drawn in by the guitar and the voice is a little bonus.
still watching this in 2023, legend.
❤ And also in 2024 , I used to dance to Stevie when I was a stripper in the 90's and early 2000's , I think Travis Kelsey they can play this to leave my little girl alone I'm talking about my lady Taylor Swift back off people you don't get no better than that she's the sweetest
Layton’s snare is so sweet and warm.
those three made the perfect triangle
@@debraalves6472 what about resse
Honestly, I get so fixed watching SRV play that he could have the London Philharmonic backing him up and I probably wouldn't notice. Thanks for calling out the drums.
Stevie Ray was one of a kind definitely. I'm a 21yo metalhead and I'm getting goosebumps everytime I see a recording of him playing live
30 years ago today.....my heart broke into a million tiny pieces. Gone way too soon. This video is some powerful shit. Absolute 🔥🔥🔥. Best damn guitar player ever. From the depths of his soul yo the tips of his fingers.....he leaves it all on the stage & leaves nothing unsaid. I will forever miss him. He can never be replaced. 💕🔥🎶🎸💯💔😢💯
So Truly Well Said. Stevie Is Therapeutic For Me
Stevie had a beautiful voice and there's no telling how far he could have gone with that voice and that no one could replace him guitar playing. Stevie no one can replace you. God knows your missed.
Hay guys stevie show from Austin city limits will be telacast oct 17 on pbs.at 11pm10central.im recording it. Can't wait
@@TheSarahbeach100 Seriously? Missed it. Damn.
Goat Blues guitarist 💙🎸🔥😎
Stevie had that special adrenal quality that took his playing into the stratosphere.
..
I love how he takes a deep breath and then just absolutely fuckin' shreds his guitar. I'm not sure I have ever seen anyone else do what he was able to do with that cryin'guitar of his.
Not fair this fucker is gone...pisses me off 😠
I hadn't noticed that. Thanks for pointing it out. I guess he worked to the point where playing at that level was as natural to him as breathing. Like Chuck Berry said "he played the guitar, just like ringing a bell".
Kevin v. Don't forget the eyes rolling back at 1:59, right before the solo. Stevie went to a different dimension after the eye roll!!
It's like he's bringing the song alive by channeling the anger of a man who's been cheated on into not only his vocals, but his playing. I've said it for years, I don't know who it was that wouldn't leave Stevie's little girl alone, but if a guitar solo could cut a man's throat, that motherfucker would be bleeding to death on the floor. Lol
The Fastest Hands in Texas
Undeniably the greatest of all time!!! Yes there are/ were greats, but Stevie greatest of all time !!!
Damn wish you were still here Stevie, great tones and voice.
This song is for the abused adults everywhere.
Coolest cat to ever play the blues
Best Guitar Player ever!
There can be no Argument!
Even when you watch him you just shake your head as to how fucking good he was! Thank you Stevie for being able to share the great depth of your Beautiful soul!!!
This is my absolute favorite SRV song of all time. I have the DVD just in case it disappears some day for some reason. He was finally clean in this concert and it wasn't long before he died in the helicopter crash. I always felt he was doing his best in this song without the coke, but it looked like he had to give it everything he had. He's in a better place, but we are lesser without him 😥
It's a video. I want one of srv.
Yep
He was clean in this? When he looks at the camera and rolls his eyes they SUUURRREEE look coked out lol. If he was that's awesome. I just dont know enough to know the date of this show vs his clean date
@@dakotadouglas6646 he got clean in 1986. This was in 1990.
Saw Stevie in Denver 1983 only heard Texas Flood,4 bucks were going, loudest concert ever
He is so fucking good, I cant believe it! Even listening and watching its mesmerizing a human being could Play this fucking good!
Best Ever! No Argument! The guy played on a different plane!
Absofuckinlutely! No argument, he is the BEST

Wonderful expressive use of the English language. Please get your daughter to read your comments. GAVONE
@@murph3001
Hey asshole! Why don't you show your Daughter the words and read all the likes on my post from others who used the same English! You're just being an asshole! Fucking Coward!
Just Ferocious in his Playing !! I feel So Blessed to have seen him live ❤ 33rd anniversary on the 27th of August 😢
I burn 500 calories just watching this performance. I wanted to play like SRV so bad when I was a young man , I realized no matter how hard and how much I practiced I would never ever be close to playing like this . And that’s ok , because the master SRV lives on through his music .
The god awful memory of the day that I heard the news of his passing has been forever shock-etched into my brain. Over the years I’ve learned to celebrate his unparalleled musical gifts to humanity and focus less and less on the loss. Still, I can’t help but to imagine all the amazing tunes and the spellbinding performances that could have yet to come, but never materialized. RIP brother and ‘thanks for all the love and incredible music that you passed our way.’
It's hard to not put a question mark where GOD puts a period....I know, we all wish.....🥺 Gone way too soon.
Stevie.. man I don’t know what to say except You changed my life forever.. in the best way!
Stevie was truly a gift from the Heavens and we are all blessed to share his music. 🎸❤☝️
Is that a smoke coming out of the guitar?
2:12-3:40 perfection...miss you SRV
0:00-4:50.... PERFECTION...
The song is perfection but the part you mentioned is more than perfection is something higher
LMR I love your taste sweetie!! Stevie is my absolute favorite of guitarist of all time & like you said=Perfection!!!!
@@vsskal4720 Very true. 🎸🎸🎸
What cutting a man's throat with a straight razor sounds like on the guitar, LOL
Is it just me but can you feel what he is feeling??? ((((Powerful stuff!!!)))))
i feel it!

Yeah I can ❤😊 3:20
There are many who technically play the blues well but few who play it with such feeling.
Can't believe I had the privilege of meeting him!
Whattt?! For real?!
@@stevieray667 yes met him in Toronto in late 80's. Funny as hell and laid back.

Stella Ercolani I love to hear stories about Stevie! If you can remember anything more about meeting him, please tell us. I don't care if it's twenty paragraphs lol
No you didn’t
Don't get any better then this
it is crazy how good he was at completely immersing himself in the music and as a result screaming at that guy to leave his girl alone
what a beautiful person
This is what blues sounds like when you put all your heart, soul, passion, incomparable virtuosity, and genius into it.
He was and still is the best!!!!
Oh my I'm so sorry he's gone but never forgotten.
You should listen to Pat Martino.
Those INSANE stacatto runs...holy shitballs!! 🤯
Its the shouts of anger in between his impulsive shreddings for me
His voice was so strong and concise.honey over gravel.miss you srv.
He absolutely destroyed this song. His intensity is so powerful, you feel every note.
He made Eric Clapton look like a school boy. Voice and guitar...best ever
more like a punk ass bitch!
It chills me to the bone watching him play . I was there at Alpine valley the night he died such a travesty I'll never forget that night August 27 1990 rip stevie
Not fair how god blesses him with this incredible talent and takes him away from us so soon. One in a billion entertainer
This is actually one of his best concerts and you can see how you progressed he was crisper sharper. His voice was remarkable. He was on his way to being Megastar for sure.
For some of us few he always has been
Love you Stevie
This man blows me away. Super talented. The best guitarist ever and incredible voice for blues singing. A terrible loss to music he died so young and at the top of his game. A legend.
Stevie would be 67years old .but he will be forever young to us.
It's sad to think that the greatest guitarists are either no longer with us or on the finishing end. Stevie was a diamond in the rough, I can only imagine what he would've done if he was still with us
Wish I coulda been in that room at that time
It's outside...One of the best venues you could ask for! Get the DVD it's amazing!
My arms hurt after watching this
1:58 when you feel it
Thanks for get this back!!!! Sing it Stevie "You better leave this video alone"
Stevie is the Most Naturally Gifted Guitarist I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
It doesn't hurt that he has giant hands either. I like how he plays rhythm with his thumb over the top. He's like two guitar players in one.
Man, being a guitarist myself, I definitely love me some Stevie. I could listen to and watch Stevie play all day long and 24/7.
Wow!! I love those riffs and his unique unmistakable vocals. He puts his mind,
body and soul in every Song. He had so much power when he performs, I just
can't get enough. Love and miss you Stevie ❤️ RIP 🙏🏻 in Guitar Heaven❣️

My favorite stevie performance! A lot of strength in sound and voice!
his voice is as incredible as his guitar skills... He was absolutely one of the biggest music geniuses.
DOES NOT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! NO ONE CAN EVER COME CLOSE! R.I.P. !
He's just so unbelievable and I don't just mean his gutter playing... I mean all the way around. I love his singing!
I've listened to an incredible amount of music in 56 yrs, from about every genre you can name, and loved it all. This guy is,so far, the second most important artist,to me that I have ever listened to. Changed my life the first time I ever heard him, forever.I sure do hope to see you again one day, brother. Love you
I'm curious to know who your favorite is...
@@michaelbliss5330 The most important artist to me that I've ever listened to would be Merle Haggard.
100% this. My dad played some Stevie records when I was growing up and I shifted my musical passion/tastes from metal and hard rock to more of the blues and classic country/souther rock route. All for the better
Never in my life have I ever been touched in my soul by another song. Ever. The guitar is a prayer my soul resonates with.
That solo basically was what got me into SRV. So much 💖💖💖💖
AMEN.. It's definitely his best solo of this,my personal opinion of the. Can't believe it's back after a so long. 😊😊😊
One of the great blues singer sings and plays one of the the great songs
This has to be an even better song than some. He was so soulful I felt the heart break of the song !
I wonder if the people in the audience really appreciated what they were witnessing, something unfortunately we will never see again. Absolutely amazing

Got to see him twice, amazing how much you miss when it's gone
Dude redefined blues and brought it to the mainstream again in a decade were artist like MJ, Prince, David Bowie, Queen were topping charts and new genres were emerging and somehow Stevie Ray brought the music of his childhood back to the forefront of American culture and expanded it even more for a wider audience
Well spoken. In that musical era, John Mayer said that SRV breathed life back into the blues.
Stevie played lead guitar on David Bowie's Let's Dance" album
SRV's a phenomenon
There will never be another like him.
I'm glad I got to experience him
There is a reason this version right here is on his greatest hits v2 . Gawd damn!
