    They are definitely less expensive than buying them pre-made and so much more satisfying! First timer here and love it, followed along this morning and ordered 12 skeins- 'Bernat Blanket Big Yarn' bulk pkg from Michaels online and saved a bundle. Great value, each blanket will cost around $40! Thanks so much Maggie! Your video was the first to come up when I googled how to hand knit a blanket and I am so glad it did!

    Great tutorial video, I love how you go slow enough for a beginner like me to actually understand how it’s done. Love that you explained not to twist the stitches because I was doing that 😊

    Great video Maggie! You're thorough, clear and patient. I haven't made a hand knit blanket because I wasn't sure about adding another row. Thanks so much!! I'll message you when I've made mine. 😊

    Thank you for this video! I bought some super thick yarn a while ago and when trying to figure out what to do I saw a lot of videos using broom handles and pipes as needles! This has made it so much easier! I'm part way through my blanket now and I hope I have enough yarn to make a decent size 🙂

    Let me start off with I love your videos!! I am a beginner I haven't done my 1st blanket yet. You are making it look so ez. BUT I wish when you finished a blanket you would hold it up and show the size and pattern because it's hard for someone who hasn't done it before to judge how big they are by measurements. I love those 2 colors together!!

    Awesome tutorial, just curious though, so you only had one row of a different color, what if I wanted to make three more rows with the color I changed to? Do I make a knot with the two colors on the end so I can reuse it? I’m using 3 different colors.

    Hi I’ve made this but I did 14 stitches to start as I’m doing more of a runner for the bed, I’ve just bought two more skeins as I want to make it a bit longer can I just add to it or do it have to unravel all of it?
    Also my cast on end when I started is looser and not as tight as the binding end, is there anything I can do to fix it instead of unravelling and restarting it? X really great tutorial by the way

    U make it so easy to understand. However I was curious as to why some tutorials say to skip the first stitch on each row when u begin to knit a new row??? Would u know why this is?????

    • @nancybrown4279
      @nancybrown4279 5 років тому

      Carissa Coursen it’s picked upon the next row, it’s not missed. It keeps the sides from curling up and makes a nice even finished edge

    For those who have done this, is there any measurements (e.g. 4 in/3 stitch) because I would like to make an upscale of this project. I would greatly appreciate any advice :)

    while $72 is less than some of the other blankets (I've seen them go over $300!), i don't think it exactly qualifies as "cheap".

    What did you mean by “make sure you don’t twist your yarn “?

    • @SimplyMaggieblog

      Cindy Watson as in twist the stitch. If you twist the stitch it won’t look the same

    I am surprised you said this is "CHEAP". A $7.99 a ball of yarn, and your pattern calling for 9-10 balls, is almost $80. Not what I would consider cheap. Thanks for the instructions though.

    have you tried doing this using your wrist? makes for a much tighter more uniform product. your 's looks sloppy. or maybe it's the yarn.

    • @bryannamedrano3342
      @bryannamedrano3342 3 роки тому

      what do you mean using your wrist? Is it where you wrap the yarn around your wrist to gauge the size of the loops ?
