I guess it all depends on what you consider to be a bunch of negativity. There's a lot of good jokes here, but even though theoretically this is good instructions for how to make a basic digital TV antenna, my guess is that quite possibly the video is monetized, and the whole point is to get you to watch it to the end. I don't mind that in many cases. But all the stupid Donald Trump is dead / going to prison / got wild and woolly with his daughter when she was a teenager... I can live with out all that click bait nonsense.

Cable TV was "sold" to us 40 years ago as "Pay up front and you will never see another commercial". I was so disappointed the first time I saw cable was full of ads and we opted out 35 years ago. We put an "old fashioned" TV antenna on our roof, and it worked until it fell apart, then we put a more up-to-date antenna in the attic. The money we saved over 35 years of not having cable, invested at a modest interest rate of comes to over $100,000. Laugh if you want, but contrary to popular belief, cable is NOT a public utility. Some people spend money on things they don't need, they cry that they don't have enough. Wake up. I enjoyed this video and the funny comments.

I think it would work better if you put the live wire from mains electricity, into any one of those ports, once the earth or neutral is connected to the metal case. It will definitely increase radio frequency gain
and increased super-sonic dynamic occurrences (semi-conductors exploding). Ignore smoke or flames if they occur, just disconnect and put out side into a non-combustible area.

Copper is a great conductor, I've built my own OTA antenna's before, this should work in theory although I don't know what the batteries are for - seen this premise in other videos although they use AA's or AAA's. The antenna design isn't bad to pick up some strong local channels. The wide metal bar acts like a reflector of sorts and the two copper wires would pick up strong VHF/UHF channels...but don't connect to the bar. The comments for this video are hilarious.

Are the batteries set on the steel mounted with one positive and the other negative? Or are they both showing positive or both showing negative as to how they are attached to the actual antenna?
A while ago, I had a cable man come, who does side jobs, that does powered antennas. And he mounted a very nice antenna to my back deck, and on one TV only, I get about 16 channels. S, not all television comes from satellites or is scrambled. So, if he can do that, then I’m almost sure this would work. As all you’re doing is building a powered antenna.
And I’ve seen 4 or 5 variants of the same thing on utube, but so far, I like this on the best. I saw one done in a similar fashion using welding rods as the antennas themselves. And it looked very respectable when he got finished, as he mounted them into piece of wood that made it look like a work of art in itself.
    But you’d looks easier.
    Holla Back !!!

No, the length of the cable only has an influence on the length of the film.

Adding a Flux lumen collector and interfacing a portal storm electron intensifier will improve the the signal to at least a magnitude of 10e3 power. If you want the circuit I can send you details. Cost is a mere £20 pounds to cover postage and packing made payable to PARC INFO. Let me know.

Nice try, but you clearly don't know what you're talking about. I crunched the numbers and it clearly only results in a 1d20 increase in magnitude. Ha! I'm not falling for that one again, oldest trick in the book...

@@InnovationPlusOne because it's just as ridiculous as you saying, "insert a coin battery into a TV and you can unlock all the channels in the world. I just took it one step further. See how ridiculous it sounds. I can use a piece of speaker wire and unlock over air channels, and that's all you coin battery antenna is going to do, and not very well I may add

What is youlive in a small town of maybe 1500 peopleand you are at least 50 miles away from a big city (like Indianapolis)? There is only one other local transmission (channel) that is 15 miles away. So i understand correctly, this is only good for local channels and not cable channels like fox news or the weather channel? There is too much bs in the comments to get a straight answer. @@InnovationPlusOne
