Great video! For idea 4/70, please don't tighten the zip tie against the tree trunk. Trees continue to grow in width, so a tight zip tie will harm the tree. Be sure to leave some space so the tree can thrive...loosening/replacing the zip tie as the tree grows.
I've used thin strips of a cloth to secure and tie. Definitely have to check often so even if a zip tie is used, it won't get embedded or hinder tree/plant growth.
😊I agree. I made sure to save this video so I can watch review it several times. I use zip ties so much; this video really expands my use. Thank you so much👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😊
First time I have come onto your channel on zip ties. I am an old ladie but still love to learn these helpful tips. Where would we be without zip ties and duct tape ☺️ Thank you for for the great tips.
Some of these ideas are fantastic!. The others need the proper tools. Thank you for sharing the video. I actually used the zip ties recently to secure the fan cover that my hubby brought home.
Hell yeah, different colors rock for myself & my wife as we are self employed, we use them for all those loose wires from our laptops/copiers/hard drives. Even better with all those plugs behind the wall from your tv, vcr, etc...These things are killer, kudo'z to the inventor, Cheers ! 📻🎹💻🖥🖨📺
Brilliant. One of the best handy hints on any subject I have seen. Some I have been doing for years since they first came out, but others very new to me. Loved the bottles for screws and bits just hang them up, great open minds at work here.
I enjoyed your very practical interesting video and I am looking forward to your future videos. I don't use rubber bands anymore or string... I buy zip ties and have been using them for everything. Your video contribution is appreciated. Thank you.
Fabulous video, lots of great ideas! However, for the love of God do not use scissors, snips, or wire cutters to cut them off!!! It leaves a wicked sharp chunk sticking out that can cut you or the next person very badly. One tech I know laid his forearm open to the artery on one hiding down inside a cabinet. As a telecom tech, I was provided a set of flush-cut pliers specifically to use with tie wraps. Also called zip tie cutters. We were absolutely forbidden to use anything else to cut tie wraps. Put the flat side of the flush-cut against the head of the tie and it trims the end off perfectly flush with no sharp end. Every single day I curse other cable monkeys who used their snips to cut tie wraps when I have to come in behind where they worked and left all those little vicious thorns sticking out. Take a little time and do it right! Please! I am never without my flush-cuts on the job and frequently end up trimming off ones I find sticking out where I am working. Safety first! A recent coworker was so happy with it he swiped mine after I loaned it to him for a day. I wasn’t too upset about it since I made a convert!
Toenail cutters work great too. They show this later in the video. I found out when I couldn’t find my snips and the nail cutters were on the bathroom sink. LOL
The faucet screws were too short for the holes in the granite in the bathroom. I fed zip ties through the holes and around the inside of the faucet. Holds perfectly.
3:13 You don't have to drill a hole in the dowel. Just wrap it around the outside. In fact, you don't even need the dowel. Anything else, even another zip tie will do for the back of the board.
Oh I LOVED this ! I could build a whole house with zip ties ! 😂 …. But i have millions of the lovely/handy little devils ! And they get EVERYWHERE…. So I particularly liked the hole in the bag idea 😊 THANK YOU ! 😂😳🤣🤣😂
When my car's bumper eventually tore out of the push rivets holding it together with the wheel well liner, i drilled holes in it and secured it with zip ties. it's been holding fine for 8 years now and cured the rubbing of the tire on the wheel well! 😅

I Subscribed and Liked, just because I believe zip ties mat be under-appreciated. Truth-be-told, I found the video hard to follow because there was so-much, so-fast. But I don’t know what can be done about that. An index (I.e. “drain hair-removal. 3:42”) would be helpful but a real lot of work. Thanks 👍. OMG! I just looked. You HAVE such an index! In this world where people ask you to subscribe for no good reason, you deserve and will get Subscribes and Likes because you DESERVE them.
Zip ties are as useful as duck tape. Who Knew?! Excellent content, assuming you monitor your trees grow. Since I won't be growing trees, Excellent Video!!!💜👏🏻💜👏🏻💜👏🏻💜
I've been using zip ties since 1973, and I think that is one of the reasons I have lived so long afterward. Also, the tool with the two jaws for holding something securely is a "vise". A "vice" is a bad or immoral habit or practice ... which may or may not be committed with a vise. 😊
I have these super giant ones that you can get and keep in your trunk in case you get stuck in the snow. They are made to go through the rim and around the tire to make bands that are good to get you out of snow. I keep bags of the moral side ones in the car also. They’ve been useful to hold up body panels that have come disconnected
My favourite was decking the wheels of a bike with zip ties to prevent slippery surfaces in bad weather. Boy, the amount of times I stacked it on my BMX because of sliding sideways on rainy days.
👩🚒Any zip ties I buy are sealed down in a ziplock. Being a PVC product over time it they do harden/dry up. Ziplocs prolong the life of unused zip ties. Whenever possible I also purchased marine-grade zip ties as well. They last longer.
The whole in the side of the package idea to remove the zip ties from the bag is good, thanks.
Good idea. I just make a small 45° angle cat at one of the corners. I can remove 1 at a time this way, too.
Great video! For idea 4/70, please don't tighten the zip tie against the tree trunk. Trees continue to grow in width, so a tight zip tie will harm the tree. Be sure to leave some space so the tree can thrive...loosening/replacing the zip tie as the tree grows.
I was going to say this too, to keep loose, also better if wrap with something soft because when trashing in the wind can still cut into the trunk.
I've used thin strips of a cloth to secure and tie.
Definitely have to check often so even if a zip tie is used, it won't get embedded or hinder tree/plant growth.
Flowing the tree to flex also strengthens it...
Yes, was going to say that zip ties aren't good for plants. A strip of stretchy fabric is better. Old tights are perfect
Old bycicle Ties for three binding
Probably the most useful tips video I ever watched. Now I just need to remember them when I need them.

Tip from me: keep zip ties in car in case of auto accident. I was able to zip tie my front bumper to keep it from dragging after hitting a deer.
...useful tip, plus you can use zip ties to repair the deer.
Excellent. Never thought to add to my car kit. Thank you.

Same! But it was when a truck rear-ended me 😂
Here in the US the townies use zipties and the rednecks use duct tape I use both.

For the last tip, using different coloured ties would make identifying the required cable even easier.
For cables, I feel it's best to use those "velcro" type ones, since they'll be undone and redone more.
Just more readily reusable.
And some sticker for the very regulars
*Who are these cleaver people that make life easer, thanks guys!!*
You use a cleaver if you are a butcher.... 😅
Nice presentation. I especially like that each tip showed the "after" results.
Some pretty useful ideas!
However, a zip tie depth gauge on a drill bit will slip, and is just asking for a hole poking through the other side.
Dude... This is so cool! It's the simplest of things that make life easy.

Never use a zip-tie on a tree. It hurts as it grows larger.

Great tips, but a small nail would work better for attaching to a lighter to poke holes. Plus, saves you from ruining the bit.
And you could just hold the nail with pliers while heating tip.. though it's one handed to reheat if it's fastened if you need to make lots of holes.
Brilliant uses.
Very good to know these!
