I found the car I wanted but the dealer added a door trim keypad. IN the day of remote entry and key fobs etc... why would anyone want that?? SO I asked can you remove the added option and knock the $455 off the price. He then tried to tell me that it was a factory installed and the price was included from the factory (basically saying no that's how it comes from the factory) I said no that not right I'm looking at the window sticker and it clearly says dealer installed option $455. I also told him if I go to the website and build one it is also an option and states that, again its a dealer installed option. (this was all by text by the way) I then told him I have seen a few others on another dealer website and I will check those out, and then thanked him for his time. I then found the exact car I wanted and got a quote from another dealer which was about 2K or so off the MSRP. A day later the first dealer texts me and says hey if I just take off the $455 will you buy the car? I replied "Nope, as I said I do not want that dealer added option on my car as there is no need for it when we have key fobs why would I ever need a keypad on my door pillar, and I also don't like the look of it on there". I never heard back after that. oh and I'm picking up my new 2025 car today 9/30/24. This happened to me with a RAV XLE recently. I got a Corolla Cross XLE in July for 8% below invoice, went back to the dealership in August and they basically told me to F off lol.
My local Honda dealer in So Cal. they would have one Accord on their lot, one Civic, etc, they would double space them and put cones between the cars, the lot was full of used cars. Ask the salesman about the Accord and they will point to it and say we only have THIS ONE on the lot with 7K in dealer add ons. Drive around the blind corner and there are over 250 brand new ready to go, on a back lot.

What would happen if the person buying went to the dealership and took pictures of their stock and then send them the picture
$47k for Camry XSE 🤣 i have been driving Toyota for las 8 years but when they would not give me even $500 off of the Camry I just bought a Tesla Model 3 LR AWD for $39,900 after tax rebate. It was $2k cheaper than Camry!
Would you be able to tell me how my dealership sells cars thousands of dollars off of MSRP. Sullivan Mo Laura. New to the dealership.
These kind of unjustified markups should be illegal...
They definitely helped the interest rates rise with their markups, then they cry when people cant afford the cars.
Market Adjustment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Greed = going out of business for dealerships, ALL should be reported to be shut down, all those vehicles they lied about that is truly in stock
Customers should pay what they feel to pay, congrats you purchased a brand new rav 4 for 6 grand, SOLD would this help out a lot of families that need reliable vehicles YES
Toyota dealerships have been disgusting the way they want more money and act like they're doing a favor because its a "quality product " and its a "toyota ". Hopefully they get their asses in shape when they lose sales on their trucks the next few years
isn t the tundra pricing and blown engines a fiasco? camry owner here. I hear their quality is slipping no?
@@subaruamazon they're having trouble selling the trucks, due to the high prices. The engine issues are just the cherry on top. However, the "car" products (RAV-4, Prius, Camry, etc) are absolutely flying out the door and they know for an absolute fact that they can get people to pay at least MSRP if not more. You'd have to catch them in a real bind at the end of the month for them to want to give you a good deal on their popular products. Why give you 7k off when some rich boomer or clueless millenial will gladly pay over MSRP?
@jceess true , really i can only hope for economic recession in the next 3 months . I need a rav 4 hybrid and i think if i get a higher trim I'll be able to pay msrp with a good interest rate . Ill keep waiting though if i need to , my tacoma is 21 years old now but still very reliable
@@jceess sold cars in college. will never take advantage of me.
@@Snelliscool sold cars in college. do what this guy does. call around. not magic. keep expanding your radius if you need to. strike a deal do paperwork fedex. you can do it. toyotas are a little tricky because people want the cars. gm and stellantis dont get you have an affinity for your taco and i for my 01 camry 151k got love from a 77 celica in college.
I hope Toyota one day starts selling directly to the public. Markups in 2024...PLEASE...
The only problem with this is I want to negotiate down from MSRP or invoice. If they sell directly, they’ll be selling for MSRP with no negotiations. I’m not down for that.
You need to view "The homework guy" Kevin and Elizabeth would provide you with excellent information on how to deal with dealership!!!
They are all insane. I won’t buy anything without $2500 off sticker. Walk. Laugh. Live.
You guys are sooooo young, these crooks have lied on everything since the beginning of time!!!
Dealer wants to make a cool $500,000 extra on 100 cars. Amazing
Hey Northern Cali don't buy marked up Toyotas go buy a Mazda. They are cheaper and here in recent years are more reliable. Maybe when they get 300 Rav 4's on their lot because no one is willing to get screwed they will take the 5k mark ups off. Tomi is so much more polite than I am I would have asked if the 5k mark up came with a bottle of lube.
Than why do they need him as a sales person?
Commenting for better reach.
you're a legend.
Craziness...
Now you know why they have 109 RAV4 hybrids in stock 😂.
they have 0 in stock goofy, and all rav4s at most toyota dealerships get reserved before coming.. they dont sit on the lot
people who have 109 of the same model on the lot are american dealers, if they dont discount then THATs a problem. not when all rav4s are getting reserved at original asking price EVERY TIME before coming on the lot
@@KingH734 someone’s but hurt…lemme guess you’re the crap salesman on the phone who works at this shitty dealership right? 🤡😂
@@KingH734 lemme guess you’re the 🤡 on the other end of the phone call. You’re welcome to stay butt hurt for our entertainment.
@@KingH734 🤡 behavior right here folks ☝🏽, I bet you were the one on the phone too 😂.
@@tails300 give me a logical argument as to why i should discount a vehicle that is being sold at original price every month before hitting my lot, i'll wait
and if you cant give me a logical rebuttal, then you are the 🤡 and can take yo 🤡ass to a dodge dealership where they discount everything for 400 beacons like you
so what happened?
Lol he asked for that stock number sonthey can fix there mistake so now they can say they have a shortage 😅
Hence why Ill never buy a new car again.
buying used is just as bad right now.
Is this the TOYOTA RAV 4 YT Channel ?
So did he do it or?
And so what happened...did they make a sale ?
Dude on the phone has no social skills. How does he even sell anything.
What happened
This sales person is making me mad ngl
Goddamn i hate bay area car dealerships i bet thats city toyota. I barely got a Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid for msrp no dealer add ons. Total bs
As you wish
I remember this 💀💀💀🤣🤣
this bullshit is why i no longer consider toyota as worthy of my money. just bought a subaru xt outback. 2 week wait. far better car
