    I bought a very nice 2004 Yukon 4x4 with 200k for $2800. And a very nice 2010 Toyota prius that also had all four new brakes and tires. For $5000
    One tows the camper and hauls things and the other gers great fuel economy.
    $7800 total.
    I bever understand why people pay so much for vehicles.
    Buy used! And never buy from a dealership. Its much easier to get a good deal frim someone that doesn't want something anymore than it is from someone specifically trying to make a profit.
    I also prefer one owner, but if not they have to ay least have had it long time and have service records, to avoid flippers!

  • @rogergeyer9851
    @rogergeyer9851 19 днів тому

    That sounded a little like my last couple of deals (minus the up front drama. I'm just a regular buyer. I just send an email in a business-like manner letting them know I'm a serious all cash buyer (so no complexity, worries about trades, etc). I let then know what I want to pay, and what the car is, based on their internet inventory.
    I give them a FAIR price. I try to dicker in the dead of winter with little traffic, which helps focus their attention. They can take it or leave it. I tell them I won't waste their time if they won't waste mine.
    In my experience, within a couple hours they email me back and accept the deal or come real close, and I can wrap it up with a firm proposal in writing with the price BEFORE I hit the dealer lot.
    If I can work that way, I'm good. I take my cars to my favorite places close to home for the maintenance anyway, so no further contact with the dealer needed once I pick up the car.

    I haven't bought a new car in 9 years, but man that is horrible. Doing this over the phone out of state, you don't get the chance to negotiate at a desk, walk out the door, have the salesman chase you down, offer another deal, leave the lot and have them call you later that night while you've already visited 3 other dealerships and have other offers. It actually used to be fun buying a car. Now they offer just $2K off and you accept it in a heartbeat. Smh.

    Even before this I had been wondering what dealers will begin to do when they get a call from Tomi? I also have been wondering what the dealer does when the deal is closed and Tomi is not listed as the owner, ever get asked that? lap one last question, I thought I saw in a recent video clip something about getting cats 7-10% behind MSRP. This is an out of state purchase for a savings less than 2k - have to go pick up the car, etc.

    • @Delivrd
      @Delivrd  Місяць тому +1

      This was a unique negotiation. The car is one of the last two in a 1000 mile radius. First dealership won't move at all. So getting a discount is a win. All camrys I do is 7-10%. V6 is discontinued, and dealerships are holding them tight.
      We could go farther out, ship the car in. Save 7-10% off. But the car is actual drivable for her. And I want to say the dealership ended up delivering it for her. I'd have to double check.
      7-10% still applies, but there are exceptions.

Would never pay him $1000 to negotiate mass produced vehicle maybe something rare or exotic but definitely not a Camry. stop being a groupie, groupie What I said is 100% accurate. $1K to "negotiating" a car that's as common as stars in the sky at the end of its production cycle. There are videos by other people walking through the Toyota lots showing the actual $4K discounts.

    • @Delivrd
      @Delivrd  Місяць тому +1

      Every vehicle is different I negotiate. People don't like to play the games with dealerships. Dealerships commonly will have a crazy discount on a car and add fees to make up that money. I have a video on it.
      Secondly, I think you are speaking of something you are just wrong about. Client wants this car.
      New 2024 Toyota Camry XSE V6
      Black on Black
      In a 500 miles radius there are 2 of these cars.
      First dealership would not move an inch. Tried 4 calls and a manager. They won't move and feel confident it'll sell with their 2k of add ons.
      For fun, I decided to look nationwide, this opens our radius up to 7 potential cars (The internet says 32, but once you go through all the listings you can confirm that only 7 are the proper match with the black on black, If you want you can confirm).
      Now 2 of these are sold already, and have been removed from the official website.
      Down to 5. 2 that are local(within a 500 mile radius), three that are out of state. 1 in AZ, 1 in NY 1 in ID (Client is in GA). One in AZ is advertising 2000 off on this car, if you know ANYTHING about buying a car in AZ, they very commonly advertise a low price and have crazy fees. Reviews of this dealership confirm. I could call this dealership to test it out, maybe I get the fees removed. Sure I'll say I didn't do that.
      The one in Idaho was advertising a 2300 dollar discount, and will not ship the car out. Even if they were shipping, due to it not being a common shipping path would cost (I asked my shipper) 1850. So even IF I got this one dealership to move down to a "4k" discount as you said (which I get on standard Camry's all the time), we would eat 1850 of that discount. Which would be a net savings of 500 bucks. Oh did I also mentioned the one in Idaho is actually 700 dollars more expensive because it has some port installed accessories that my client doesn't care for.
      Just because someone shows a discount, doesn't mean its a discount. From someone who "negotiates" 50-80 deals on a monthly basis, sometimes they advertise a legit price. Sometimes they advertise a price and add fees.
      People pay me to save time, energy and anxiety. Money saved is a byproduct. They want a car, they want a fair price, they don't want to play the dealership games.

    • @mikemayers8672
      @mikemayers8672 Місяць тому

      I’m basing my opinion not just on some videos I also am talking to a local dealer that has 3 xse v6s all sitting there for weeks. My local salesman offered me 4K off to take one. 1 is silver other 2 are reservoir blue. They are not hot colors.
      You’re right about one thing certain color combos are highly desirable others are not.
      Black on black or anything with red interior gets gauged.
      I’m in NY suburbs. I’ve noticed that timing is everything when buying a car. If something sits on the lot for week or 2 even if it’s a “hot” car dealers will be willing to do a deal.

      @@gncc600You have never had mom, wife/girlfriend, or even male acquaintances who felt like a dealer or auto shop was going to screw them and asked for you to help negotiate? Never had them ask you to help them get a second opinion for repairs?

    41k for a Camry is the biggest scam of all time. The best deal you could put together was $1000 off, absolutely horrible. For what you charge, I would not be happy with the "deal".

      What do you expect? Nobody is getting 10% off MSRP on vehicles that are in high demand. You get 10% off MSRP on vehicles that have stagnant inventory. If you want thousands off a Tundra, you can definitely do that.

      I helped a friend get $5000 off a 2024 Rav4. It took a few weeks, but we reached out to 20 dealerships, and one finally stepped up. This Tommi guy doesn't argue over the first offer and accepts it. That's a lousy negotiation process.

      @Sensei_888If I am paying someone to get me a fantastic deal on a new or used car, I would expect better results. I am not in sales and can do so much better.

      The v6 is a premium - if I recall 4k or so just because it went from v4 to v6. You are also comparing a LE price to XSE...tons of features and differences. I bought mine and LOVE it because it's not like you can get a v6 after the 24 year. I saved somewhere between 6% and 7% off MSRP on that and my RAV4 which isn't bad considering just a few short months ago MSRP adjustments were happening.
