I still use Sonar Platinum. There is nothing new here and it just has a new shotty coat of paint. Sonar was once the most innovative DAW, and everyone got lazy once they were out of the game. Furthermore, they still offer the same old VSTs that are like 15 years old now untouched. Studio instruments are from 2007. I think it’s a sunk cost fallacy where they have an obsolete product they own, so they want to ship with their crummy subscription service.

A lot of saas companies that offer perpetual licences or "one time price", "lifetime deal" etc end up selling a lot of them and just shutting down. Leaving their customers with software that will eventually be unusable. Even Distro Kid is subscription based. That's why they can innovate and stay in business.

I have been using Cakewalk for years and before that, Sonar as it was before Gibson all but destroyed it. Now, every time I open a new or existing project, someshing goes to crap. A synth doesn't work properly or doesn't work at all. Some VST3 from people like IK Multi or Native instruments glitches and I have to spend hours using the NON creative side of my brain, finding and fixing the problem.
This is Band Labs version...whatever the *** that is. Congrats on the new Sonar. Now that it's out and Band Labs wants money for it, I'm going to Cubase. It's actually supported by all third party software designers thus no more taking a crap on my projects and time.

I read the forums all the time and have been monitoring the updates that they have put out none talk about the vocal sync being updated or fixed... And they have not released the old paid for FX yet... What they have done is not enough to keep people in my opinion the sampler that they added is not good enough to even compete with Komplete kontrol free sampler.. still no drum machine.. no tuner ... No new instruments... No new FX... Everything thing they have added has already been in SONAR Platinum before so what are you really getting 🤔... They are still missing the really good stuff like rapture and dimension pro.. they even got rid of TTS1 ... Do you currently have the bandlab subscription and use Cakewalk Sonar? Do you use vocal sync? Does it work correctly for you and no one else? I understand people love Cakewalk I love it to that's why I want it to be better but if you don't listen to your customers you will fail and right now I believe they are failing the past and future customers...
