I had Sonar Platinum back in its final days as a professional DAW. I was super happy when Bandlab revived it, up until I realized they didn’t revive all the features and capabilities that made Sonar so good. In my experience (I also have ProTools and Cubase), Sonar was the best overall DAW. So intuitive and easy to use. I actually still use it on my older Windows 10 PC that’s not connected to the internet. I won’t use the Bandlab version until it’s fully restored to how it was at the end of 2017 (but with modern upgrades, of course).

Thank you for the quick explanation of how to connect Keylab MK3 to Cakewalk. Got mine yesterday and this was an easy set up. Only problenm is the Analog Lab sound choices don't show up on the Keylab screen when opened as a Cakewalk VST. They onl show up when I open up Analog Pro separatey. Any ideas?

To each their own, but the second they started making moves with Cakewalk I just decided to switch over to Reaper. I don’t want to have all that indecision hanging over my head.

This whole subscription model is purely about money, and that's sad. It shows a lack of care about your customers. I wouldn't care if they sold it for 900 I would still probably get it, but knowing Im paying for something I won't own just isn't me. I guess im just old school. Cakewalk was my 1st daw so i have a lot of love for the brand, but I have no problem moving on if this is the route they plan to go. Sad end to a great legacy.

I purchased the Bandlab membership on black Friday sale, $70 for the year. If they don't go with a one time license, I'm hoping they'll offer to re-up me for the same $70. That wouldn't be a bad deal. Sonar has been working fine for me, but still keeping Cakewalk by Bandlab if I'll need to go back.

Since there are hardly any people in Japan who provide tutorials for WAVEFORM13, I'm listening to this using the simultaneous interpretation extension. Let me ask you a question. Do you know the software called "Synthesizer V"? Is it possible to run "Synthesizer V" on WAVEFORM13? If you know the answer, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

What if I don't want to use Cakewalk plug ins but 3rd party? Can we do side chaining with 3rd party compression plug in, reverb plug ins, any plug ins with Cakewalk?

I'm gonna try to follow this for my arturia essential mk3, i spent 5 hours today and 3 different daws trying to get it to work. Was literally at a point of calling a professional to set it up (doubt that even exists), Im dying over here.

I was surprised, even shocked at just how powerful some of the built-in instruments in the Pro version of Waveform 13 can be. Now having had used it for some time, I even have quite some respect and admiration for just what you can do with the Micro Drum and Micro Samplers alone, along with some of your own instruments. Waveform Pro plus all of the software you get with an MPC Studio MK2, using MPC Mk2 in VST mode _within_ the DAW environment of Waveform, as in, you can literally control the entire MPC and/or MPC Beats DAWs nearly entirely from _within_ Waveform, especially when factored in all of the software instruments that come with the purchase of something like a Novation Launchkey 61 MIDI keyboard and/or maybe a VST synth or two. Couple that with programming skills, CSound or even some down-and-dirty from-the-bottom-up audio software design skills unlock such a wealth of potential for sound combinations that it's actually best to _not_ try to think of it all at once and just go with the flow of it all and resist temptations for trinkets you can't truly justify after that point. A MIDIMIX board to make it all feel like more of a physical instrument makes for so much fun and for $100 it's actually not a huge expense compared to the cost of things such as fruit or meat at the grocery store.. I had no idea what just the mere purchase of two hardware controllers could unlock in a completely free DAW if you so choose it to be. I paid them their $99 almost out of appreciation for how far that piece of software has carried me along my audio programing journey and has turned me into a true musician on a close par as my younger brother, the life-long musician in my family. They freaking give you Autotune for the paid software, it's not in the trial, but if you like what the trial shows you under the hood (there are more than twice as many downloads sent to you from Tracktion after you make the purchase) such as Wavetable or Subtraktive, or the plethora of FX vst's you get from the trial alone, you may look at Ableton Live Utility (or whatever it's called) and it's ~900$ price tag and wonder where exactly on the internet you are.. God, it's hard to not sound like a shill after using this software, it's seriously under-represented in the market and community alike.. Almost none of the greatest musicians or artists alike started out as millionaires.. 😅

Both the K688 and Tank 3 are just awesome for their price range and Fifine makes impossibly amazing microhones that aren't just FineFine but GreatGreat! Anyways I love how the Tank3 got more presence out of your voice by default, would definitely help saving lots of time in post editing, definitely a strong pick for a next mic. Thanks for the review and the opportunity also, I love seeing more content on their mics and I'm glad to see more vocals being used on them since that's one of my concerns when picking mics as well, have a happy new year!

Over Thanksgiving they had that offer for the sbscription at half price so I decided to try it. I think the main benefit of the subscription is that there is some synergy going back and forth between Sonar, Cakewalk next, and Bandlab. If you have the subscription you can use all three. Bandlab has access to things like AI for tracksplitting and audio to midi, that I'm using to work on recreating some old songs I recorded decades ago on tape. It also means access to the voice-changer and AI audio cleanup functions. Those things are actually handy and easy to export for use in Sonar. Cakewalk Next is built to readily access their sound/loop library, which works pretty well with the sampler, which both next and sonar have. So you can use Next to browse and find files that you can eventually use in sonar if needed as loops or in the sampler. I was initially unimpressed with next, but now that i see where all the effects are etc., it's fine for what it is. It has a lot of instruments that I need to go through. Anyway, I'd generally prefer a perpetual license, but still the subscription isn't just for sonar, and all the resources together are more useful than just one DAW.

I like the fact that it has USB-C and a bigger colour display but besides that........

I downloaded waveform awhile back but then I downloaded waveform 13 free been stuck in it this is nice I usually use fl studio but something about the workflow in this case just keeps bringing me back to it.

New to this, which model would you recommend for somebody using fl studio ( all plugins edition ) ? I am not into having the most modern tech, just what works the best. I am trying to focus more on making bass heavy Dancehall and Hip Hop instrumentals.
