The R6 is the best 600 out of all 600s and it’s the best sounding bike out there. Yes the ZX6R might be better in sense of the location of the oil filter, etc but the R6 is on top. King of MotoGP for over a decade! People only hate on it because they don’t have one.
Excuse me but most people say that it's insanely uncomfortable and it gonna hurt your back and your wrist after riding it for like 30 minutes, is it actually that bad?
There was one of these 16 models with 1k miles locally for $11k but I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for it. Great bike from any angle and it will always be one of the greatest ever made.
@@Kels14Bwell that's amazing but unfortunately because of inflation and the fact they don't sell the r6 anymore, it's price is expected to be higher. I would say no more than ~8k in today's market. I wish they were 5k still 😭
That Yellow looks so much better on the R6 over the R1. Also, the R6 didn’t stop production. The R9 is not a replacement for the R6. They will actually be competing against one another. According to Yamaha Reps. So much misinformation out there.
Well I'm getting my 2008 R6 in a couple of weeks. It has only done 4k miles and it'll be my first "bigger" bike 😅 i think i just watched the video i needed. By the way i live on the Isle of Man 😉👊

we have got to stop saying the R7 is a replacement for the R6, it was never meant to be, it's a completely different bike, the replacement for the R6 will be the R9 and it will be faster
That is one nice R6. Man why did you show Cycle Gear at the end. I am expecting two FedEx packages from them tomorrow and now I feel I need to drive there today and make some more bad financial decisions 😅😅😅.
can you tell me with full confidence that beginners wont try to go up the rpm to see what its like, then get addicted to the rush and keep doing it without experience?
@@RealJay1k every single living being will be stupid. this is how we learn. you cannot give a bike that allows you to be stupid to somebody looking to learn.
1.) Yamaha didn't completely stop making the r6, just no long sold as street legal due to strict emission regulations coming from the EU. Don't have to comply with regulations for track bikes 2.) Yamaha did not stop street legal production on the r1 in the U.S. just yet. They did confirm to stop production in the EU again for stricter emission regulations in 2025 year. Likely they will stop production in the U.S. too in the future but not just not yet, nor has it ever been confirmed or definitive 3.) Yamaha r7 was not intended to replace the r6 it was just an alternative sportbike line to suite a thriving market in a more "beginner" friendly powerband and one that could easily fit emission regulations being a 2 cylinder I dont fault yamaha for completely pulling the r6 and likely completey pulling the r1 in the near future from their street legal line. The EU has been incredibly annoying and strict on their emission agenda for motorcycles. Yamaha does not make much money of these supersport bikes (not a large consumer market in the grand scheme of motorcycling), so it not a good business decision for them to dump a ton of money in R&D to manufacturer these bikes to remain race machines while meeting emission regulations. They make most of their money on their naked and sport touring line as thats where the market it at. This all being said I love my r6 and I am disappointed that it can't be bought new street legal anymore, truly a one of a kind bike and a ton of fun to ride. What I have learned is to hate the EU
that thing is a death machine bro. I don't think it has a balanced vibe. The front headlights are really cool, but the rest of it doesn't look any better than the average bike.
if ya need the extra help with braking & the electronics to help everything else then get the R6.... if ya really want one of the last true superbikes being sold in 2024 GET A GSX-R750
I agree I have an 05 Gsxr 750 no electronics, rider aids or anything just pure power I love it rode my friends 2019 r6 for a day and didn’t give me the same feeling definitely feels newer but not as pure. Plus the 750 is faster I’ve never lost to him in a race
Lol R7 isn't even comparable with the R6. Definitely not better than R6. Not the older R6, not the newer R6. R7 is a slow beginner bike that can barely push 140.
