It's like a well trained German Shepherd that is chill and quiet but can destroy on command. Love 4 cylinders. I hope Honda never stops making them.
From what I heard it's a more potent R7. I'd test a cp2 config bike to see if you like the motor to start with if you can't just test the RS660 directly. But imo the RS475 or what it's called sounds alot more interesting.
I have an RS660 as my second bike. Honestly it's very hard to beat how much fun that bike is. It's stupid light, has all the tech including cruise control, sounds really good, fast enough for most people, and one of the best looking bikes out there imo. You can rip on it hard and it'll keep up with you, or you ride it around town and it's perfectly happy and compliant / comfortable.
the exhaust, I think you do my guy. I'm not a fan of too loud exhausts either. But a Mivv or Scproject on the 07 with the cat and db-killer in sound amazing. I've also only put a Mivv slipon on my cb500f, barely louder but the sound ochestra is so much fun.@@f14-tomcat90
I love the R6, my son recently got an R6 with 2k miles on it for a lil over 14k.. ther is no comparison between the R6 and an R7.. R7 is what it is for a beginner… great bike in my opinion.. not like many riders ride stock anymore..
Yeah the R7 is not a comparable bike to the R6. Completely different power output. I do however think it is a good bike. It is more comparable to the CBR650R, Ninja 650 or the new GSX8R although those bikes are more upright. R7 sure looks good though. Personally for my money I think I would get the RS660 if I were shopping for that style of bike.
Man, I'm hella confused as to how you ride around all year round just about in the PNW. I'm just north of you on Vancouver Island and I've been shut down since November lol. Props to you bro!
@@keithquinn5624 I'm well aware. I ride an R6 and to be honest, I'm just not brave enough in icier conditions like some other riders. Also I use the colder, slicker months to do work on the bike. That being said, it's starting to get nice enough to consider getting the bike back on the road. Couple smaller items to complete before I put insurance back on the bike.

Let's be honest, I think most riders want everything an R6 or 1000cc has to offer but they just don't want to be uncomfortable and they are not quite ready for a sport touring bike. R6 is a track bike, can you ride it around town, of course but it's better suited for the track. The R7 is an around the town, back road, tollway, let me have enough power from 60-120 to get around traffic driving around machine.
The R7 is as uncomfortable as the R6, it’s just a bit narrower between the legs. The whole argument about the R7 being more street-able is from anyone who hasn’t ridden the two bikes.

Hope to see you out and about in Tacoma this summer. love seeing you and other creators around my area do so well on UA-cam. hope to have a great following like you one day.
Just saw one of these at our local dealer yesterday. Some dude just bought it, and it was sitting out front. Beautiful bike! I was a bit surprised that it was a vertical twin. Putting that R on it was a mistake if you ask me.
I knew you was going to talk crap about the bike as someone whom have had both r6 2012 and r7 2023 and a range of R1’s I can hand on hart say don’t listen to this bias review. Watch a range of reviews and you’ll get a genuine understanding about the r7. My guy said the CF moto was better. That was expected tbh from him Edit: not to knock him, he is a great reviewer but he only loves his bikes…..
It wasn’t a review though. I also didn’t say the cfmoto was better. I said it can hold it’s own. If you’re telling me that a completely stock yamaha r7 is anything special, then you definitely have a biased opinion. It’s underwhelming to say the least. I haven’t ridden an r7 with an ecu flash and exhaust. I’ve also owner an fz07 with an ecu flash and exhaust. It was…ok, had the torque but the geometry of a harley sportster. My guy - im not gonna lie to anyone and say the COMPLETELY STOCK R7 was anything special. From an unbiased opinion, it’s nothing special.
People come to your channel literally for reviews and your opinion, I have a stock r7 and furthermore all of my bikes stay stock as I am constantly changing models / upgrading. As a congested city rider I believe the r7 has as much to offer than the r6 and I say that with my hand on hart. The bike isn’t for you and I get that but I’m 100% sure the R7 suits a range of riders out there, put some respect on its name lol…. I love your channel and have plenty of respect for the constant knowledge you bring to the biking community but I just knew you would trash talk the r7.
@@michaelblenmanin that being said. The r7 suits for more of a city rider. Shouldn’t have Yamaha put this bike in a different class? Naming it a R7 is just a marketing scheme. I feel like it ruined the Yzf-R reputation.
The big problem I have with people comparing the R6 and the R7, is that they keep propagating this idea (sometimes not intentionally) that the R7 was meant to replace the R6 and take it's place which a lot of people still think to this day. The R7 was never meant to replace the R6, firstly, it was to take part in the Twin cup (which explains the I-2 engine), secondly, the era of supersports/hypersports bikes is clearly nearing it's end. With the amount of regulations and restrictions all across the globe, making sportbikes that are more akin to naked bikes with farings makes a lot more sense as a manufacturer (it's also cheaper to own). Also, the R7 takes a nice space in the Yamaha line-up, cause if you wanted to have a nice linear climb up the Yamaha bikes, you started with the R3 let's say (or the R125) as a beginner, then, what comes next? the R6. Which is quite a big jump from a small R3. Now you have the R7 for that which is a nice beginner/intermediate bike. Of course they removed the R6 from the production line, but I guess that is where the R9 will come in for in the near future. People gotta stop thinking that just because 7 > 6, that it is supposed to be more powerful. It is not and it was never meant to be. Actual good comparator to the R7 would be the likes of RS660, Ninja 650, SV650, and so on. Also, to address one major complaint about the bike through the video, you are taking a STOCK 2024 R7. Ofc the sound is going to be shitty, we have the regulations to thank for that. With a good after market pipe, the R7 sounds super dope (I recommend Yoshimura personally). Ok enough yapping for one day, there is more to say about this bike, but whatever. I do believe though that it is a deadly underrated bike just for the fact that people don't understand the right purpose it serves. Definitely has flaws, but not as much as some might put it. PS: this message is in no way targeting Adobo personally, I just needed to write something after seeing too many comments on so many of these reviews. Love the videos 👍👍
the guy with the r7 should make some small holes in the back of the big exhaust blok or just where the pipe comes out just two holes 2centimeters big make a big difference i got mine with that mod yes aftermarket exhaust is better but its a quick and cheap fix for more sound and a bit more top end
I got a yoshimura exhaust and air box kit, with a full dyno tune on my 22 R7, and I’ll tell you it’s a perfect track bike… like I tell every one if they want to go fast in a strait line just get a liter bike

Granted I have to take it to a shop to get it installed.
I hope you come across the ZX4RR and compare it to the R7 and R6. I have an R7 as well but fell out of love with it pretty quick. Since I started and own a R1 and have also driven an R6. The bike just doesn’t have the same thrill as any of those
I bought the R7 almost one year ago, I guess this video confirmed that it's a great idea to start on it, make the most out of it and later upgrade to an r6 :). By the way, I was also looking at the 2024 cbr 600rr that comes out in Europe soon, what are your thoughts on it? Should I stick on upgrading to an R6 or give the honda a chance?
in the eu you cant get a R6 on a A2 licence because the max power the bike can have before being restricted needs to be less than 95 hp. the cbr 650r is at that max power output. but many go for the R7 because they think the R7 is close to the R6 which it isnt. The closest thing you can get to a R6 in the Eu on a A2 licence is a Rs660 or a Cbr 650r. but overall i think all three bikes are very good. The Rs660 have power down low and still have the top end. The Cbr 650r is a inline 4 so you just cant hate it. the sound is very nice and its the fastest out of all of them plus now in 2024 Honda have come out with the E clutch which is a big thing to most new riders. the R7 is a very tame bike for newer riders. Not to fast and not to slow.
When you get this and that bike becomes alive…so you need to spend extra 4-5k to get almost r6/zx6r or gixxer 600… Just get a gixxer and you good to go!
Well it's how these bikes make power. Horsepower is torque times rpm divided by 5252. Similar peak torque bike 6500 more rpm. But, much slower than the r7 at low rpms
R6 is an inline 4 cylinder while R7 is an 2 cylinder... CC can be deceiving. R7 is good bike but yes nowhere near as powerful as the R6. it was never supposed to be one. And R6 makes most power at around 17k rpm witch might not be the best for street use. And also GL finding a R6 in Europe.
Still rather have a new bike than someone else's second hand problems, but then my budget is more flexible than most also have multiple bikes. R6 42.2 lb.ft. R7 is 49.4 lb ft. R7 was never meant to be a replacement for the R6. Also found I can last a lot longer on a R7. If I ride 3 hrs to Tail of the Dragon on the R6 by the time I get there I wanna go home. Weight wise nothing in it, the R7 is like 2 lbs lighter hardly noticeable. R7 definitely needs a full pipe and a ECU flash opens up the top end revs quite a bit more.
Comparing a twin to an I4 is a little ridiculous. You're comparing 73hp, 50ftlbs to 117hp, 45ftlbs. People don't really ride these to go fast (unless we're talking track times). It's also worth noting a full exhaust and a flash does open them up a little. It was cool hearing your thoughts on it though 👍
I find it way easier to stall the twin motors then the inline 4. I have never stalled my zx6r but stall my 650 all the time. The inline 4 is dying in bikes though, we need to save them🤣
Here where I’m at I “no” some guys that build r7’s for moto-america and they tear them all the way down, motor and all! It looks pretty sweet and performs,,,, well you can imagine. And it ain’t no R7! JS
hey quick question, I'm about to buy a R7 too and your last video informed me of the new colors. I was considering the black one from 2023, but that matte gray looks fire on your video. It's like a well trained German Shepherd that is chill and quiet but can destroy on command. Love 4 cylinders. I hope Honda never stops making them.
What are your thoughts on the RS660? I'm thinking of getting it as my second bike
Adobo should test ride one too.
@kforeal6809 ight bro you seduced me into getting one. I can't wait for spring
@@butternuts842 you'll love it man!
The r7 is begging for an inline 4.
It’s really not… I have one and it doesn’t need it.
@earthlyng_official4599 I have a ninja 400 and that feels semi fast. I want an r7 they are fast af
It would be a complete diff animal even with the CF3 which is 10 times better than the CF2
Imagine a cross plane inline 4 with 1000cc
the exhaust, I think you do my guy. I'm not a fan of too loud exhausts either. But a Mivv or Scproject on the 07 with the cat and db-killer in sound amazing.
I've also only put a Mivv slipon on my cb500f, barely louder but the sound ochestra is so much fun.@@f14-tomcat90
Good decision😎
I love the R6, my son recently got an R6 with 2k miles on it for a lil over 14k.. ther is no comparison between the R6 and an R7.. R7 is what it is for a beginner… great bike in my opinion.. not like many riders ride stock anymore..
Have you ever been on an FZ1? I’ve been looking at them. Are they worth getting?
Yeah the R7 is not a comparable bike to the R6. Completely different power output. I do however think it is a good bike. It is more comparable to the CBR650R, Ninja 650 or the new GSX8R although those bikes are more upright. R7 sure looks good though. Personally for my money I think I would get the RS660 if I were shopping for that style of bike.
We got the cb650r, 4 cylinders has more go factor, than a ninja 650 twin or an mt07 twin. More fun in my book and a much better stock sound
@@TheBlauwitjeLord. Pls bless me with a 650r this summer. All black.
Adobo getting that ride in
You can put an r6 fork in the r7. You can see in ahri hennings yoshimura R7.
Present Bro 🙋 Always Ride Safe
R7 looks good but other then that nothing lol r6 no doubt beautiful bike with a beautiful engine love it
Man, I'm hella confused as to how you ride around all year round just about in the PNW. I'm just north of you on Vancouver Island and I've been shut down since November lol. Props to you bro!
Lots of riders in Vancouver and the island ride all year, why don’t you? It’s been 15C for the past 5 days…
The R3 vibrates like crazy when you pull the throttle as well. The CFMoto 650 MT doesn't but it's heavy AF!!
R7 is a nice bike...different cup of tea for different folks...its a brave little bike...i absolutely love it...its a monster for someone who came from a r15 version 4 thsts a 155cc Engine and compared to 300's the r7 is a big monster...but yeah U.S.A 1000cc's or no bike...
loving your content, the clicks in audio when the cuts happen are killing me though low key lol
The whole argument about the R7 being more street-able is from anyone who hasn’t ridden the two bikes.
been watching you for months and just realized we're in the same neck of the woods! ride in Ruston area all the time. Maybe bump into each other some day!
What sprockets do you run again on your r6? What makes a bigger difference the sprocket or the flash?
Flash and full exhaust. Im running a 44t in the rear, -1 from stock
@@adobomoto but it does change your speedometer right?
I knew you was going to talk crap about the bike as someone whom have had both r6 2012 and r7 2023 and a range of R1’s I can hand on hart say don’t listen to this bias review. Watch a range of reviews and you’ll get a genuine understanding about the r7. My guy said the CF moto was better. That was expected tbh from him
Edit: not to knock him, he is a great reviewer but he only loves his bikes…..
Would love to see you try out a Ninja400 in comparison as well!
This bike actually just made for looks and road riding.. actually greatful they put 180 tire on a twin
i swear if yamaha makes an r9 with 3cyl from the mt09 would be sick
They are going to. They just dropped a teaser yesterday
@@AveryRucker-to3el yeah i saw it as well 10 of October will be the real reveal i think
the guy with the r7 should make some small holes in the back of the big exhaust blok or just where the pipe comes out just two holes 2centimeters big make a big difference i got mine with that mod yes aftermarket exhaust is better but its a quick and cheap fix for more sound and a bit more top end
I got a yoshimura exhaust and air box kit, with a full dyno tune on my 22 R7, and I’ll tell you it’s a perfect track bike… like I tell every one if they want to go fast in a strait line just get a liter bike
If you want to go fast in a straight line, buy a hypernaked or h2. Nothing wrong with a superbike in the twisties.
@@loftyintentions1985did u just call a r7 a superbike? 😂
@@carkid7640😂 it’s nowhere near a super bike I agree
@@carkid7640 yes, that's what I did. I replied to a comment about buying a litre bike to go fast in a straight line by calling the r7 a superbike. How dumb are you? That's a rhetorical question btw🤦🏻♂️
Just picked up an r6 about a week ago. This video solidified that I’m definitely glad I didn’t go with the r7😂😂
The R7 is basically the 636 that people use for stunt riding. A lot of stunt riders I know love the R7 for it
In what way is the R7 similar to the ZX6R? I mean, the R7 is a two-cylinder bike, whereas the 636 is a four-cylinder bike...
@@syn8etikosit’s the new age 636 a lot of stunters would look to a 636 as the best option to get into stunting but now that the r7 has come out the stunting community is going to it instead. The 636 is like a 2 stroke dirtbike r7 is like a 4 stroke dirtbike much smoother more linear power band easier to wheelie. I put some Mx bars on mine and it feels like a big klx110 to me soo much fun
Is the r7 de restricted? Or do they not come restricted in the us?
I was between an R6 and an R7, so glad I got the 6 lol
My buddies R7 has a bunch of work done and feels nothing like the stock R7. He actually beats 600’s in races. And I have videos to prove it.
I genuinely think the R7 is a better looking bike(in my opinion) but they definitely dropped the ball with the engine setup
So 450ss over R7 as first bike???
The R9 will be the true R6 successor, in my opinion. Love my MT09
Once you get a full Akropovic system the Yosh airbox and a proper flash it comes alive. It is a fun bike especially once you get it in the twisties. Does it have R6 power NO but 0-100 it is a fun ride.🤘😎🏍
I'd hate to hear it, but I'd want to experience it 😂
@@mentlegentlemen7409 Yea it will never have that high RPM scream like an F1 racer but the difference in peppiness is night and day. I still want to experience the thrill of riding one of the old 2 stroke race replicas like the Yamaha RZV, Suzuki RGV and the Honda NSR🤘😎🏍
Awesome video! I started on a 650 twin as well (sv) and want to try a smooth I-4. The torque of the twins is more apparent in less than 50mph. Plan is to get a gsxr 750 later but no rush.

Quick q bro do you use a mic or just the action cam audio?
I’m getting an r6 I also live in Washington state Seattle it’s been a pain in the ass trying to buy one most people here in wa are badings trying to overcharge for the r6 but the first thing I’m doing is getting a gear indicator I can’t ride without one. Granted I have to take it to a shop to get it installed.
I’d love to see you opinion on the colour scheme of my 2008 r6 🤔
I have Aprilia rs660 since 2021, i want to upgrade my bike. It's worth it if i buy R7?
Try the R7 on the twisties, thats where it comes alive
in the eu you cant get a R6 on a A2 licence because the max power the bike can have before being restricted needs to be less than 95 hp. the cbr 650r is at that max power output. but many go for the R7 because they think the R7 is close to the R6 which it isnt.
I call my r7 the boogie lawnmower😈
Thank God - I've never been so happy about clickbait!
I hear turboing the R7 is a day and night difference. Really turns heads once you turbo.
I've been trying to find a group that rides right now! I'm in SeaTac, when do y'all meet?
less CC but 50hp more... R6 all the way.
And also GL finding a R6 in Europe.
lets go!
Bro I’ve been trying to buy a keyring and show support but you don’t ship to England?!?!?!?
would like to see you test a MT-09!
R7 is the same bike just different plastics
Kuya, should i get a Aprilia 457 or Yamaha r3? For a first bike for a new rider.
You gotta try the banh mi at sizzle and crunch next to UW
You can get a fully working great condition r6 for less than a used ninja 400 ask me how I know lol
I’m late but now the week can begin!
Can you do a review of the 24 zx6r plz
r7 looks nice, that's about it
Gained my follow simply due to the fact you’re in the PNW and understand the dumb weather up here and how bad we wanna ride! Haha
I’ll have to do a part 2 when Nate flashes the ecu and decides on an exhaust

JS
It’s just a pretty looking beginners bike. People started buying the crap out of those 350/400 this is just great marketing to Rockies
hey quick question, I'm about to buy a R7 too and your last video informed me of the new colors. I was considering the black one from 2023, but that matte gray looks fire on your video. My question is: is it darker in real life than on Yamaha's website? It look so bright on the website and makes me hesitate on which color to pick, but the blue/pink lines on the gray are so much prettier
