The fact that it is relatively tame until 8-10k is something I really like about the R6. I can ride it comfortably as a commuter bike all day, but it has all the power I could ever handle if I just rev it up a bit.
same here. I can easily maneuver around tight jams and traffic at 2-4k RPMs. I love it. and honestly, if you're trying to pull from 1k-2k RPMs then the problem is you. I don't know what the others are complaining.
@Blue Friend I have GSXR 600 and sure it's fast. But when the friend is on the rear wheel and pulling from you and you still shifting right at redline. You know it's not fast enough :D
Best bike for me indeed, I started on it and have never looked back. It's slow at the bottom end so it was a great beginner bike for me as I have alot of discipline and restraint...
The best thing about riding an R6 is that it's tame at lower RPMs. BUT once you hit that 10k it feels like the boost just kicked in and there's no other feeling like it..it really feels like something is just pushing you from the back.. It's a monster of a bike once you want to go fast. The feeling once that power kicks in is scary but extremely fun.
To help with the low end power do two things 1. Flash your ecu, yamaha restricts throttle response to meet emission standards, so flashing ur ecu can remove the restrictions and give you 100% power like it should be. 2. Add two teeth to rear sprocket and go down 1 on the front sprocket, this will increase acceleration

I love my 2009 R6. At first I had to get used to the riding position and lack of low end power but now I love those things. For commuting the lack of low end power is kinda nice because you can be lazy on the throttle. And even then it's faster than most cars are

I've been riding dirt bikes since I was a kid (20 now) been thinking About an r6 for my first street bike. I'm familiar with dirt bikes and such and havnt had problems with them. Do you think this would be a good first street bike?
Love these super sport bikes, unfortunately that ship has sailed for me due to being old and fat 😂. The 1988 Honda hurricane 1000 made me fall in love with them.

That's why I loved my 2002 636 Ninja. Those extra little 36cc made so much difference at the bottom end. Just felt so smooth. And with the bike being the old school style, it was a pretty large frame. My 6'1" fit on it so comfortably.... I guess it would be classed more as a sports tourer these days. My 2017 has a little buzz on my booty at 8k that tells me it's woken up. I had it tuned to streamline that low-end power, tho. But it definitely lives at the highs
A lot of older sports bikes have the inline 4 as well lol Kawasaki kx650 Suzuki gs650 Yamaha xj650 Honda cb750 your Big 4 the Sport Bike's that started Today's Sport Bikes you know what I'm saying Sean
Probably won't see this but my 2003 Yamaha r6 has a tick everyone says its normal I heard a small tick in yours so I'm starting to think it is normal but.. mine gets louder up to 5k rpms then it's no longer noticeable
Probably not, but it's what I started on then after that I got a Suzuki katana 600 and was super disappointed. It had half the power, the sound wasn't quite as nice, and the looks while still nice just didn't compare. Working your way up in power is much more satisfying.
These are great bikes don’t worry about the low end it’s actually beneficial in everyday riding think stop starting at traffic lights and so on but if you want a bike to kill you off the mark than look at 1000s
I just picked up a raven red 2011 R6. Really love the style and handling. Has a 2brothers pipe and tune. 8k miles. Couple minor small chips but not noticeable. Have minimal issues with hands going numb. I am looking to upgrade mirrors with turn signals built in.
just get it dyno tuned. I have a2016 636 and it was a beast in the lower end, but it was running very rich. It would pull hard on every gear almost, got it dyno tuned then the bike got slow as hell. it ended up just like this r6. Bc the rpm was at 6k at like 60mph. So i took it back, and he re did it and it was doing it bc kawasaki put eco mode on the bike. So now its back to normal, alot smoother and still wakes up at 10k and up but low and mid end is still pretty aggressive without harming the engine.
The 600 I rode kept up decently with the other bikes until I had to shift to a higher gear to go faster and the 1000s just kept going. When they hit 100 they were just switching to 3rd gear I think.
This is exactly why I went to the fz1 from the sv650. From the bike where you haven't got to wring it's neck at all to get decent power and torque, I don't think I'd like the R6. Yes I admit the fz1 still requires you to go above 4500 rpm to properly wake it up, it's still far more pleasant low down than any 600.
Love the channel Sean. I’m a 6’2” rider looking for a bigger bike. I’m currently on a crf250l but I want to get into sportier bikes. Trouble is, I don’t feel comfortable on a 400.. I really like the idea of an r6 but not sure if it’s too much power for a more novice rider. I’ve been riding about 2500 miles in 4 months and feel confident when I ride… Thoughts?
You'll be fine with the R6. If you have 2500 miles under your belt, you won't have any issue. I got my R6 after about 2000 miles on a smaller bike and honestly felt like I could have started with the R6. Under 8k RPMs its actually very tame of a bike, quick, but nothing extreme. Above 8k RPM and the thing absolutely flies. The only thing to be cognizant of is your own responsibility and restraint. You'll be fine physically riding the bike but nothing can make up for irresponsible or unsafe riding. No amount of skill will allow you to ride 100mph through surface streets or street race in traffic.
I would love to see you test ride a Harley Davidson Dark Knight. You probably don't have one in your inventory yet, but as soon as you do you're going to want to ride it first thing.
The fact that Sean had a girlfriend when he was 12 made me believe he got that glorious beard when he was 8.

4:17 It is the same with my 2005 CBR 600F. People tell me one of my headlamps is out 😄
Sean is the best at motorcycle reviews on UA-cam. I hope to give you my business some day.
I bought a cbr1000rr. What a monster. Some of the best days of my life, and I'm still alive.
A lot of older sports bikes have the inline 4 as well lol Kawasaki kx650 Suzuki gs650 Yamaha xj650 Honda cb750 your Big 4 the Sport Bike's that started Today's Sport Bikes you know what I'm saying Sean
That stock exhaust sounds amazing! Never looked at the crotch rockets, but this one definitely has me thinking.
Thanks~~~~
Probably won't see this but my 2003 Yamaha r6 has a tick everyone says its normal I heard a small tick in yours so I'm starting to think it is normal but.. mine gets louder up to 5k rpms then it's no longer noticeable
I miss my R6, but I’m not a good enough rider to really have it in the mountains. But back in Dallas it was amazing
Thanks~~~~
I am 16 and just got my a1 license and bought the first yamaha xsr125 sold in Norway so i don't think buying an r6 would be the smartest move
Probably not, but it's what I started on then after that I got a Suzuki katana 600 and was super disappointed. It had half the power, the sound wasn't quite as nice, and the looks while still nice just didn't compare. Working your way up in power is much more satisfying.
that sedici jacket you're wearing is one of my favorites
Thanks~~~~
0:54 Yamaha, looks awesome, Kawasaki looks awesome, Honda looks ancient.
I've seen on I'm interested in but has 22k miles and 7 owner, any advice would be appreciated
Best looking fairings of all bikes in my opinion
Yamahas are the yeezes of motorcycles
How much do you weigh just curious for reference on the grom review
Thanks~~~~
These are great bikes don’t worry about the low end it’s actually beneficial in everyday riding think stop starting at traffic lights and so on but if you want a bike to kill you off the mark than look at 1000s
I'm a Yamaha man, but theirs alot of good bikes out there.
i have a 2003 and this looks, and sounds just like mine. almost like they didnt change anything but the tank and fairings
I just picked up a raven red 2011 R6. Really love the style and handling. Has a 2brothers pipe and tune. 8k miles. Couple minor small chips but not noticeable. Have minimal issues with hands going numb. I am looking to upgrade mirrors with turn signals built in.
How much you pay for it
@@Justa_Shooter 8k
@@JTMoney333 You paid 8,000$ for 2011 R6?

I don't think I've seen an ADV on your channel lately. Review Africa Twin and Tenere 700 off-road
Hello,
You guys still have that bike?? Thanks.
i think the R6 just looks better than the other 3 :D
I’ve been riding an sv650 for some time now. Fun bike, versatile. But I’m trying decide if I want an r1 or r6. I’m starting to think r6 is the route
It’s all about the rider!!! So true.
just get it dyno tuned.
The robot bug thing was good. I love the Superbikes and all that. They look like a hornet it's just cool angles and character.
Thanks~~~~
Corrrrr legit waited so long for a new vid and you deliver the video with an R6 😍😍😍😍👌👌👌👌👌 MAN LIKE SRK
The 600 I rode kept up decently with the other bikes until I had to shift to a higher gear to go faster and the 1000s just kept going. When they hit 100 they were just switching to 3rd gear I think.
Thanks~~~~
Why is the right (front) brake lever so ganked up ????
Is it's worth it to get 2013 R6..is it easy to get parts?
This is exactly why I went to the fz1 from the sv650. From the bike where you haven't got to wring it's neck at all to get decent power and torque, I don't think I'd like the R6.
Yes I admit the fz1 still requires you to go above 4500 rpm to properly wake it up, it's still far more pleasant low down than any 600.
Thanks~~~~
What happends if you are going like 60-70 mph and puts it in 2nd gear but you release the clutch slowly and not just drop the clutch?
Fly off
Love the channel Sean.
U ain't ready
Go with the R1 and learn the bike
I would love to see you test ride a Harley Davidson Dark Knight. You probably don't have one in your inventory yet, but as soon as you do you're going to want to ride it first thing.
Thanks~~~~
