Years ago, I posted this song to my Twitter stating that I didn't know how I missed such a great song when I was growing up in the 70's. To my surprise he replied to me thanking me for the post. What lovely gesture.
I had it happen with Peter Hook on Reddit way back. I missed an AMA. Like two days after I posted a comment.. kinda baring my soul a bit, about how JD and his bass playing were very helpful in me not losing control of things and I was able ti stay afloat. He replied about an hour later saying something like “wow, I appreciate it and am honored we could help you mate” and I about melted in my chair. I remember I saw it on a particularly rough day at work on a quick smoke break and rest of the day I was so calm.
I also never heard of Terry Reed until The Devil's Rejects DVD, and I don't know how I didn't ever hear this in the 70s Rob Zombie. Had a Hellish Soundtrack for that movie.
lol.. dude says it’s a blessing to see ya to his fans. He’s gotta know they are all thinking that exact thing about him. You’re the man Terri.. absolute genius that wouldn’t be tainted, I love that.
One legendary gentleman. He’s made some of the most emotional and heavy-hitting music I’ve ever heard, as well. I’ve also heard that he’s one of the kindest and most humble men you’d ever meet. Bless you, Terry Reid. ❤
I was there. Fantastic gig and so great to see Terry since it had been postponed twice. Well worth the wait. Amazing to see such a spectrum of ages from 20 year olds to 70 year olds like me. Bless you Terry.
I've been listening to him since 1969. I can still hear a glimpse of who he used to be. I had his Terry Reid Album poster over my dorm bed. He's so underrated!
I've been a most devoted fan of his ever since first seeing him at Filmore West in 1968...It baffles me that he wasn't bigger in the Music World...All his albums are progressive evolved creative studio masterpieces. And countless lead singers have cited him as influenced and inspired them, all who have gone on to become million record selling artists....
I remember when my dad busted this out of his vinyl and said listen carefully son. In 86 I was 5 hearing this song for first time when days are tough I listen to it during long drives up the mountain roads. I love that I got the dad I did. Still have the album on vinyl. Thanks Terry
I was shocked at how Terry has aged since last I saw him in 1973. Then saw myself in the mirror and realised how time has ravaged us both...and yet...the music... and the vibe...are ageless!
Терри великолепен, люблю его, но выглядеть мог бы и лучше.... Так же сильно постарел и Плант. Пример физической формы - Пол Роджерс ( который даже старше Терри на пару лет), голос которого звучит также, как 50 лет назад.
Every couple years I find a new video of the legend Terry Reid, and man I still can’t believe he still has it after all these years, really incredible. I’ve always loved his voice before and now
This day, 13 november 2013, Thank you dear Terry, GOD bless you for ever, you are a graet man & artiste, you are the best singer .... Happy birthday to you, long live & life for you! Congratulations! Kiss from Belgium and Bruxelles!
I honestly did not know he was still alive! Checked to see his tour dates and he’ll be around me in early December! You bet I got a hold of those tickets! Thank you for posting this and damn thank youtube for putting this video on my recommendation!
This version is as good as the original for me. Seeing Terry Reid at 75 in his twilight years, performing this incredibly moving song so brilliantly has even more emotion & sadness than it did almost 50 years ago when he just 25
Thank you for posting these important captures of time. Terry turns 74 Nov 13th this year. You are so lucky to have been front and centre. Also what outstanding musicians featured as well.
I love this Terry Reid video. The first time I actually remember hearing him was the outro of House of 1000 Corpses movie and I was so blown away and still am . What sweet and sullen song. He tapped into some magic on this one.
The Devils Rejects. Seeds of Memory plays during the end credits. To Be Treated Right plays during the sequence where the family get captured. @@alanthomson1227
I was on the radio in Charlotte NC in the mid 70’s. I played Terry all the time. Our audience loved him but he never got traction in other markets. His record company completely dropped the ball. They really never worked it. Very sad. He deserved a big audience.
#WillardSongWriter did you see this ..... Terry is STILL doing gigs. Nov 13th 2023 is his 74th bday. It is MY wish that he will find your ever outstanding covers...omg you deserve it Willard. @WillardSongWriter
He opened for the Rolling Stones, Chicago Auditorium, 1970, played under a 'blue light': I thought he was a better act than the Stones. God bless you man, love ya.
It’s so strange to see him at this age. He’s obviously lost some of that incredible, mesmerizing voice, but the song still sounds great. I admire that he’s out there performing. Still, this gives me such a bittersweet feeling.
I saw TERRY perform with my date (his ex-wife/girlfriend) last year at Pappy and Harriet’s in the California desert. One of the greatest nights I’ve had in a long time.
Terry Reid is a legend. A man WAY ahead of his time. A visionary. One of the greatest songwriters of his generation if his extensive musical credits are taken into account. Arguably one of the best and most creative guitar players walking the planet in 2023. There arent enough superlatives to described Terry. You are lucky to have seen him play.
I've been listening to him since 1969. I had a Terry Reid Album poster over my dorm bed. He is so underrated. He plays an acoustic guitar much better than this. Listen to his "May Fly", "July", "To Be Treated Right" and "Bang Bang" from very early albums. Rob Zombie made him relevant to later generations including my son. But he's always been a great writer snd musician. 0:02
Great energy in his old age but he looks like just this regular elderly white guy. That would be funny as hell if it was just a very crazy old British guy who knew how to play and sing the old Terry Reid parts, said cheers and just ambled down the sidewalk after the gig, where Terry Reed was running late and then can be like "whaddya mean who are you, I'm blummin well Terry Read, innoy?

The extra verse at the end of the video that’s not on the original is incredible.
This version is my favourite.
God Bless Terry Reid
Absolutely brilliant.Seed of memory is in my top ten fave songs ever.
He is fantastic! Thanks Rob for bringing him back in the spotlight. 🎸

Our band supported Terry at wolverton in 1968/69 ( PETR JAY )and he was BRILLIANT ,JUST BRILLIANT
@bobskarratt8724 Were you a member of Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers?
Terry’s Kickin ass💪💪
The original recording of this always brings me to the verge of tears.
Me too . A lovely song and one of Terry's best .Saw him in '71 supporting Procul Harum .
Ditto!

Even after all these years Terry plays this great song with passion a true legend a song i never get fedup of hearing
I saw him at Exeter in 1968 - brilliant musician and songwriter....
Rock on Terry! Way cool!!
Such a beautiful mess. I love it.
Amazing. Hoping to see this legend soon....

Classic 👍🏽
Father Time is undefeated. Blessings.
Wow. Soulful beauty.

Same here. I saw the movie, heard this song, and was compelled to track it down.
Was it not Devils Rejects three songs in it from him
@@alanthomson1227 maybe , I get those two mixed up
The Devils Rejects. Seeds of Memory plays during the end credits. To Be Treated Right plays during the sequence where the family get captured. @@alanthomson1227
The mid-song plug! Haha gotta love it!! Was going to see him last week in NY, but the shows got cancelled. Hoping he re-schedules soon

Großartig!
Wooooooow,Padrinazo,llo acabo de descubrir,que maravilla
GOAT
#WillardSongWriter did you see this ..... Terry is STILL doing gigs.

His body my age, but what's really important is his spirit is ageless.......peace
Дякую!👍💙💛
I wish I hadn't have seen this.
It’s so strange to see him at this age. He’s obviously lost some of that incredible, mesmerizing voice, but the song still sounds great. I admire that he’s out there performing. Still, this gives me such a bittersweet feeling.
Thank you for putting how I feel into words ....
Wish I'd seen him in his prime ❤
@nancyhighlands9059 ...He was "Electrifying" live!!...One could see why Jimmy Page wanted him as first choice to front Led Zeppelin...
WHAT is that tuning. so wild of a chord progression and tuning. Straight TErry Reid. always ahead of the pack.
Might be his signature Drop D tuning he used to play in in his beginning years of playing live..
I saw TERRY perform with my date (his ex-wife/girlfriend) last year at Pappy and Harriet’s in the California desert. One of the greatest nights I’ve had in a long time.
A great singer up there with Paul Rodgers , Steve Marriott and Jess Roden as one of the best vocalists in Rock .

Arguably one of the best and most creative guitar players walking the planet in 2023. There arent enough superlatives to described Terry. You are lucky to have seen him play.
I met him in 1965 when he was with Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers.
I've been listening to him since 1969. I had a Terry Reid Album poster over my dorm bed. He is so underrated. He plays an acoustic guitar much better than this. What voice he had
Rob zombie totally revived his career . Great movie great soundtrack .
He still out there doing it. Devil's Rejects.
Is that a Jazzmaster?
👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Terry is a legend. The things he COULD have done but didn't are stunning. Imagine him fronting Zeppelin in a 2 guitar attack with Jimmy.
Man, Why is it that sound techs dont turn up those vocal mics anymore?
Amazing talent. Strangely, he doesn’t seem to have changed from the guy i chatted to regularly all those years ago at the River Club in St Ives
Jimmy Page’s first choice for singer for an unheard of band called Led Zeppelin
Jimmy Page was far from an unknown though.
Is that Joanna Connor on Bass?
Jennifer Maidman is on bass .
Great energy in his old age but he looks like just this regular elderly white guy. @charlesgallagher1376 - that’s not true he’s way more known now than he was pre Zeppelin
Looks like Terry has Joanna Connor on bass.
..'we won't ask you again..' Jimmy Page.
Aretha Franklin called him a great singer ,say no more
Who is Terry Reid?
The internet is encyclopied, check him out
He turned down lead singer for led zepplin...quite the pool of talent in that period of music.
Heard he turned down Deep Purple too.
This is some old bloke they pulled out of the bookies that afternoon
So nice
fuckin a
Sorry terry not a fan . Wish you the best worst guitar tone I ever heard. Good luck. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Awesome
This guy is an OG.
