It’s crazy how Terry didn’t get the recognition he deserves! He should be mentioned with the greats…his music really got me through some of my darkest days🥹. Thank you Terry for sharing your art and talent with the world. Your music will forever be timeless❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
At my second ever live concert a young unknown Terry Reid opened for Cream at the Baltimore Civic Center. Terry Reid followed by the Moody Blues followed by Cream, except Cream was late so Terry & his band were brought out for a second set. Only problem, as Terry revealed to the audience, they didn't actually HAVE a second set...so we were treated to a repeat of their previous set. And it was killer! The next day I searched high & low for Terry's only LP (in 1968 record shopping options were limited) and miraculously found a copy at E.J Korvettes. 52 years later that record is a "desert island" disc which remains in my regular rotation.
Terry is such a great story teller and he has a million of them! Thank you for having him on this show, I just love the man and his tremendous voice!!!
Thanks for this, Terry and Joe. Terry, you opened in Chicago at the International Ampitheater in November 1969 for The Rolling Stones. You played first. Then Chuck Berry did a set, and then The Rolling Stones played. It was a Sunday and there was a matinee and an evening show. I had tickets in the 7th row which cost $7.50. Just a great show by all. Thanks. Several months ago I went back and re-purchased your catalogue after watching you, Joe, do a piece about buying Terry’s Tele. Great show. Good memories. Bob Corbin
This man is a lovely human being. He’s a new discovery for me. I saw two live versions of ‘Treated Rite’ and I was blown away by by his guitar playing and his soulful, expressive voice. Both versions were different. He has a complex, unique style. I watch those two vids every now and then. It’s always a special experience and I know I’m listening to something special. And now I’ve heard him speaking, I like him even more. He’s a cheerful soul isn’t he! I’d like to hear a lot more from him. His stories are great. He’s truthful and honest. Appreciates other artists as well. If anyone here can recommend songs to me, I’d appreciate it.
Great interview with one of the greatest singers ever. His bands had a unique sound and those first few albums were full of great tunes, very diverse and still sound fresh today.
agree that Terry Reid is a treasure (in the same way as Bernie Marsden) in that he is so approachable, interesting, and worthy of another visit. Thanks Joe!
Thanks Joe. I think Terry Reid is a great artist. I first saw a clip of him doing treated right on Jools Holland and I was blown away by his soulful, powerful voice and his unusual, captivating guitar sounds. I’ve since found out about his experiences in the music business and his interactions with just about every major artist I’ve ever heard of and then some. I loved listening to his stories. That was enough to blow my socks off, but what impressed me even more is his character. He is so generous with his praise for other musicians and he strikes me as an honest, honourable, caring man. He’s really loveable. So much so, that if he was a puppy or a kitten, you’d want to pick him up and cuddle him 😀 He always comes across that way, always positive and jocular, never bitter, resentful or jealous. Nor is he ever pompous and full of himself like some much less talented people. I enjoyed your interview a lot. You asked great questions and you gave him time to speak. I would dearly love to hear a lot more of his stories and if it’s at all possible I would like you to interview him again. I love listening to people talking about their creative process, even if I’m not a fan of their genre. But music for me is like medicine because it makes me feel better, it inspires my imagination and I can access deeper more, more intuitive and loving emotions if that makes sense. Anyway, thanks so much for agreeing to do this interview series. It’s so much more interesting when a musician interviews other musicians because you can relate much more because of your shared experiences. You are doing a great job! More please!
I fell in love with Terry Reid in 1969. I got his first album and had the poster above my dorm bed. I listened to him and followed him till today. I would love for him to come to Wilmington, NC to Wilson Center so more of us could see him live.
In my opinion Britain's best singer ever. Chatted with him after a small gig he did and at no time did I feel like I was outstaying my welcome. In fact I ended up having to end the conversation. Bloody great guitarist as well. Criminal when you see the s**te that have made it huge when you compare them to Terry. Ain't No Justice (Shadow).
Can't beat these first hand accounts of music history. So entertaining. Thanks Terry and Joe most enjoyable! Also thank you for getting the "blender" into the right hands. 😎
A very valuable, interesting conversation ... thank you very much ... I love every documentary by Joe, every interwiev with different musicians, love these beautiful stories ... look at me for hours they calm me down and they exude very positive and pleasant ones energy
The Grrreat interview, very interesting conversation of two honorable gentlemen.Agent OOJ is an understanding, friendly and Tactful interviewer. AND !!! What a classy socks Joe has !!!!!!!
Fantastic conversation. Love it when Joe B is involved. You know you’re gonna get some good stuff. Terry is so fun the listen to! Great job Gibson. Nice work on this Mark Agnesi!

Enjoyed it - till they reached the guitar discussions near the end. Fell like the real cool stories were over. Thanks so much for bringing back Terry to our attention. Thanks a lot !
Saw Terry in '69 on the Midnight Rambler tour. It was at the Forum in LA and he was on the bill with BB King, Ike and Tina Turner and the Stones. I heard him in recordings but live he was so soulful and powerful and killed it that night. When we walked out of the Forum the sun was just coming up... nice work Joe.
@@c.s.mcleod7383 No, it wasn't called that it's how I remember that era, a reference point (I had also seen them when Brian was in the band). Midnight Rambler was the big dramatic centrepiece of that tour. But for me Mick Taylor stole the show...
I’ve been a fan since the 60’s. On my 4th copy of River. And in the last 20 years have seen him twice. He is just lovely as well as wonderful and great
Joe is on the money about Terry and his peers being some amazing singers. I always felt that much like American R&B (which influenced them a lot), a large number of these singers came up in choirs of some kind.
those of you, who haven't heard Terry Reid's solo albums are missing out big time...... his style was like a crossover between Rolling Stones and Jimmy Hendrix...... some of the best blues/acid albums from that era....... amazing songwriter, player and also great voice...... highly recommended
Joe is such a class act and a respectful Man! He’s forgotten more about guitar, gear and music that most will learn in TWO lifetimes! Makes me proud to be a Guitar Geek!
TERRY PLAY THE CASINO AGAIN IN THE CALI DESSERT !! this is my connection to JOE !! I met terry and my friend calls him on the regular ask him how its going , wow !! GIBSON AWESOME ! People are complaining a little to much these days
That look on Joe's face is about as genuine as it anyone could possibly get and that say's alot about Joe . It would be the same for anyone who sat in Joe's seat and that say's alot about Terry.
I wish that more people knew about this legend! I love Terry Reid! Thanks Joe, thanks Gibson!
Best voice I've ever heard
Very well said
For me, Mayfly is a better performed track than Stairway to Heaven. You’ll probably get the basis of that.

To Be Treated Rite on Devil's Rejects soundtrack is a killer tune!!!!
Rob’s soundtracks are always so great.
I consider "To Be Treated Rite" one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Terry Reid is one of the biggest unsung heroes in Rock history.
If it wasn't for Rob Zombie movies, I would have never heard of Terry Reid. Terry Reid's music is so AWESOME, THANKs Rob !!!!!!!!!!!!
