There is a lot of Truth in all his songs - some are happy, some are sad (or very sad)., some are bittersweet. This is why they are beautiful. "Beauty is truth, truth beauty" said John Keats. The Polish romantic C.K. Norwid said :" Hell is inability to love" . We all probably don't know yet how talented and precious Chris Rea is. Chris - lots of love from Poland!
Chris Rea's "The Road to Hell" is a commentary on modern life and its stresses. Released in 1989, the song paints a bleak picture of a world dominated by consumerism, environmental destruction, and societal decay. Rea uses the metaphor of a road to convey a sense of entrapment and inevitable decline, capturing the feeling of being caught in an inescapable cycle of modern existence. The song's haunting melody and somber lyrics reflect a sense of disillusionment and foreboding about the direction in which society is heading. The song’s ability to resonate with listeners decades after its release is a testament to its profound impact and Rea’s artistry.
or, and thats a good commentary to be honest, its about the M25 motorway he was stuck on. In a traffic jam he noticed the exhaust fumes and thought "This is the Road to Hell" (which is true by the way).

Chris is from the North East of England my home city, has saw him live at Gateshead stadium BRILLIANT 💟☮️
Chris Rey is Chickasaw from Louisiana.Old school guitar!!!!
I’ve seen him a few times in Birmingham Festival Hall including during his final tour before he collapsed on stage in Oxford. So sad that he has had to stop performing. He was at Goodwood Revival race weekend a few years back. He still loves his Motorsport..
This man is a legend.
I've seen him live twice and was bowled over each time. I wish I could see him one more time and hear the Stony road version.
Great randition of a great song!! Love it!
Hammer . Lieb ich . Bisschen Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod. Ich denke jeder hat mal solche Momente. An die Welt! Nimm jeden Tag wie er kommt . Nach Regen kommt Sonne .Sonne , Liebe und Geborgenheit.
Es wird Zeit . Kannst ja nichts Erzwingen. Suche nur einen lieben Menschen der passe. Weiblich natürlich.
Martin
I've finally got round to experiencing a live version of Chris's masterpiece... absolutely stunning.
Did you hear that Chris has a tiny cock?

Why not I intend to have it played at mine!
I have been listening to alot of Chris Rea these past few months. What a gift he has given us .... must be something to experience him live
😊 Just bloody marvelous, one of the best records ever made. Saw him sing this live years ago in Bournemouth. Go Chris, a truly great artist.
