This ending didn't have to be a cliffhanger. That can just be the ending of the franchise, evil continues to live on but in other people and there's no killing it no matter what you do.

One thing that still bothers me about the ending is that no one seems to care nor is anyone surprised that Corey was wearing the mask. Laurie didn't know Corey was under the mask when she shot him. She had little to no reaction that it was him instead of Michael. Allison didn't even stop to process that Corey was wearing coveralls, covered in blood and the mask was on the floor beside him. Not how I'd have handled this part of the film but I really enjoyed Ends and the chance they took on it.

Then a person wearing Michaels mask and very similar coveralls shows up in her house and she looks directly at him before shooting him. There's no way she could have instantly thought that was Corey or anyone else under the mask. No one else has ever gone after her while wearing that mask other than Michael. Nor was there any rumor or speculation that a copycat was out there.

Just because it wasn’t news, or reported, doesn’t mean heinous shit hasn’t happened there.
It’s usually a specific type of murder or crimes, that tend to make a house difficult to rent or sell.

Thanks for the video. I really liked the unexpected path DGG took with Ends, but yes, not sure it was the way the wrap up the timeline. I know i am somewhat in the minority but my son and i love Kills and saw it 5x in theaters. The brutality of MM along with the score far outweighed the drag of the hospital scenes. I will say that the Ends we got didnt deliver on the iconic scenes such as Michael putting his mask on at the gas station in '18, emerging from the gun closet through the fire, or putting his mask back on to square up against the locals in Kills, that i could watch 100x and still get that rush of adrenaline and excitement. The closest it came was MM appearing in the Dr house and killing the nurse. The alternative book ending you mentioned sounded very intersting. Also, the one i just saw in the comments with Allison shooting Cort out the window and then disappearing. After all, we dont know what death is..... Anyway, you gained a new subscriber.

I think Halloween ends is what would have happened with Jamie Lloyd had they went that direction. Corey had that innocent Jamie Lloyd vibe in the early stages of the film. I believe Michael gave the remainder of his power to Corey before he snapped his neck.

Interesting theory but I totally disagree with the Jamie comparison. I didn't get that vibe from Cory at all. And I honestly found him unlikable from the beginning. To be honest, I don't think this ending works for me. Plus, I would go by this kill count with a few changes, including this ending I made. Here's 10 examples of changes.
    1. Have Michael Myers be supernatural and less weak.
    2. Add all the deleted scenes into the movie.
    3. Add Laurie's reaction to Karen's death and having trouble moving on from the inside.
    4. Have Allyson not forget that Michael killed her parents.
    5. Remove Sondra from the movie and have her actually die in Halloween Kills.
    6. Instead of Corey stealing Michael's mask, he uses his scarecrow mask to become his own version of The Shape and continues to help Michael regain more of his strength.
    7. Michael keeps the same rusty knife he pulled out in the sewers and uses it on Halloween night (2022).
    8. Have the final showdown between Michael and Laurie longer than 5 minutes and add a showdown between Corey and Allyson.
    9. After killing Doug, Michael is no longer staying in the sewers.
    10. Mash up both themes of Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends.
    11. Remove the plot armor Laurie had in the final showdown.

She finds Danny dead at the side of the bar. Suddenly appearing, Michael attacks Lindsey as they begin to have a showdown once again like in Halloween Kills. Michael gets the upper hand and kills Lindsey. Frank goes outside and sees Lindsey lying dead on the floor. He looks back up to see Michael standing above her. Michael does recognize him from 1978 and 2018. Frank pleads to Michael about his partner McCabe being killed by accident, realizing long ago that he should've let Loomis kill him in 1978. Referencing Loomis trying to shoot Michael in Halloween 4, Frank shoots at Michael, but he's already gone.

Laurie Strode: injured by Michael Myers, killed by Allyson Nelson due to her granddaughter being infected by Michael's evil
Allyson Nelson: infected by Michael's evil to kill Laurie, injured by Michael Myers 🎃🔪
After killing Corey, Allyson goes downstairs as she goes over to find her grandmother dying. Approaching Allyson from behind, Michael turns her around as he chokes her, infecting her with his evil. As Michael hands her his knife, Allyson looks down at her dying grandmother as Laurie pleads for her to not kill her. She then says "Evil will never die... It changes shape...". Allyson slits Laurie's throat, killing her grandmother. As Allyson turns to Michael, he takes the knife and stabs her in the stomach. As he looks down at Allyson, he raises his knife before hearing sirens. After Michael leaves the house, Frank, Sheriff Barker, and the cops arrive as they find Laurie and Corey dead. They found Allyson still alive as they took her outside to treat her wounds. She looks over to Corey dead on the grass before being taken to the hospital. Frank approaches Allyson if she's alright. She says nothing with no emotion. Michael's heavy breathing is heard everywhere in Haddonfield before the screen cuts to black as the Halloween theme plays and the credits roll.

Nice explanation. Here's what could have been a neat idea too. Make this movie take place the same night as the other two, the ending happens the same way. Laurie kills Michael in the kitchen and they grind him up or burn him to ashes. Laurie keeps his mask, she has her happy ending in the house. We then jump ahead one year or two, have the Corey babysitting kill the same way and then have his spiral to evil due to society calling him the NEW Michael. He can still fall for Allison. And have that romance. The bullies still treat him had and he's conflicted with darkness. Just remove his connection to Michael in the sewers. He grabs Michael's mask from Laurie's house at some point when he is with Allison. Make everything else the same. You can even have him kill himself at the end too if you want. Or he gets sent to Smiths Grove, just like Michael did. Laurie still has the sheriff and writes her book, and Allison still leaves Haddonfield. It starts an all new generation. I think they just needed to rearrange the movie and it would have worked a lot better.

I imagine the final line about the evil transferring over is about some other 6 year old boy somewhere in the world but I also do like the idea of it just being gone. I also do love the finality of that ending but I kind of expected Michael to grab Laurie's leg and drag her down with him at the end lol. All this to say: good video, too much of Ends' conversation has been shrouded by negativity so this was great to watch.

The alternative ending of Laurie becoming evil does remind me of this
Spoilers for Halloween #3 the devil's eyes comic
    -
Laurie is revealed to have became Michael Myers. It happens after the events of issue #2 of the Chaos Halloween comic "The Blackest Eye's" and H20. After she kills Michael she became obsessed and became Michael Myers and even kept his head as some trophy and made it like a jack O Lantern.

How I would have ended ENDS, is to have Laurie and Myers have a chase at the junkyard, to which they climb onto the shredder and Myers is somehow knocked in, getting pulverized with the mask on. We see Myers put the mask back on before this, so no tricky H20 crap.
After that, we see Laurie at home, writing her novel, her narration, Fear The Reaper music begins to play over her narration, and we cut to another state, town, where a killer is on the loose.
Music keeps playing, Laurie keeps narrating. We cut to the new town where everyone is panicking about this new killer, and then cut to an abandoned farm house. A man or woman is tending to the fields, climbs out of their tractor, and walks into the farm. Reaper tune keeps playing, and the farmer opens the large farm door, hears a creaking sound, turns and bam, the new killer is right there and yanks the farmer out of frame. Cut to black, Reaper song lyrics begin over credits.

    Nice video.
Ok…so my thoughts on Ends have changed. I initially said the movie should not exist, was a slap in the face to the true fans, and is an abomination to the franchise. I stand by that it’s a slap in the face given it’s placement in the “trilogy” or “quadrilogy” but I’ll take back the abomination and shouldn’t exist parts. However….this movie as is should absolutely 100% not have been the finale to these particular installments. You can keep ALMOST all elements to this movie, but the ending that I wanted was Corey DEAD, Laurie DEAD, Alyson DEAD, and yes, Michael DEAD. My ending was the kitchen fight scene but obviously longer and more brutal….my changes….Laurie, while hiding in the pantry, grabs a mason jar of home grown jarred “ghost” peppers that Lindsey brought over earlier in the movie and slams it in Michael’s face breaking the jar. Michael is now temporarily blinded by the pepper juice and glass shards and holding his face. Laurie takes the remainder of sharp, broken jar in her hand and stabs it into Michael’s face/cheek area. Michael stumbles back and slowly, and seemingly painlessly removes the jar from his face. No longer blinded, the fight is ON. Michael severely injures Laurie in multiple ways, slamming her, breaking her nose, stabbing her, choking her, and Laurie delivers damage to Michael as well. Michael sustains multiple stab wounds during this fight, bleeding profusely. Michael keeps coming though. So does Laurie, even though she has taken so much damage. Like in the original, Alyson comes back, enters the fight, saves her grandmother but Michael bests her as well, killing her in a blurry manner with a camera view that is from Laurie’s POV, but not before Laurie can deliver one last knife to Michael…in his femoral artery. Michael then kills Laurie as she gazes upon Alyson’s lifeless body by putting his boot on her throat and pressing down slowly, almost as a mercy killing as she is obviously dying from the battle damage.. Michael, breathing heavily, pulls the knife out of his leg. We see blood GUSHING from his leg. He exits the house. Halloween theme starts. Camera follows him slowly walking down the street. A Blood trail and bloody footprints follow until Michael sits down on a random bench on a haddonfield sidewalk as he lays the knife down beside him. Music stops. We see his blood pooling up around his leg on the sidewalk. We now not only hear the breathing but we SEE his warm breath just a tad in the cool night air until….the breathing suddenly stops and so does the visual of the breath. After some time, Police arrive after seeing what they think is someone who’s had too much to drink on Halloween night only to see the blood and realize hat it is indeed the one and only Michael Myers. One cop thinks he’s dead, stating he’s not breathing (h2 homage). The other cop says “hey, don’t you remember 2018?!” The other cop “well yeah, and?” Then, after a brief pause, the other cop says “so we’re not taking anymore chances with this motherfcker. This is for haddonfield”. The camera catches a quick glimpse of Officer TRAMER’s name plate as he points, aims, and shoots the already seemingly dead Michael Myers in the side of the head. His lifeless body falls to the ground in a pool of his own blood and brain matter, even more blood now spewing from his head. Halloween theme resumes as the camera zooms in on his blown out , bloody mask/head. Michael IS DEAD. They are ALL dead. End credits.

For my ideal ending for Halloween Ends, we would see Laurie in her study after she forces Allison to leave Haddonfield for her safety as the evil is slowly taking over. As she finishes writing her memoir, we see a revolver on the desk, positioned next to her laptop. Upon completing her final sentence, Laurie takes the gun and places it directly at herself. At that moment, we see Laurie weep while hearing her breathe heavily under pressure. She is committed into ridding the evil by any means, even if she has to do the unthinkable. The camera zooms in on her teary eyes, and there we see her pupils as they begin to dilate, with her heavy breathing slowly turning deep and slow, akin to how Michael breathes under the mask. And as the scene cuts to black, we suddenly hear the sound of a gun shot

Unfortunately the Halloween franchise has long been assailed with bad box office results when directors try to go off script and test new ideas. Now one could argue allot of the previous ideas were so poor, they deserved their fate. But here we have one that at least challenges that assessment, yet the results remain the same. Diehard fans will always seek out the hidden novel in these films. But what makes these movies work is the general public coming along. Unfortunately they're usually only present for the anniversary installments that retell the same story all over again. Anticipate that to replay in 2028 for the 50th.

i heard that there was an unused ending where michael (weakened) fights laurie, while corey at his full power fights allyson, laurie kills michael and goes to the other fight just as allyson is about to lose, she saves her by shooting corey six times, making him fall from the 3rd/2nd floor of the house, just like in the original film, and then showing that corey is gone, in my opinion this is a great ending to the franchise, similar to halloween 4, michael dies, but his evil lives on, but this time it actually makes him even scarier, as this confirms that the whole trilogy was his masterplan, he had his moment of full power in halloween kills, and then he knew he would naturally die, so he purposely picked corey as his sucessor, iniciating an endless cycle of evil, so we have laurie finally getting rid of michael, but also michael still being scary and his evil still being present

I haven't got an alternate ending. I actually like the movie as is well enough. For many reasons. It's not how I would have made it. But considering I expected to hate it and....didn't lol...I can't complain much. But ideally (IMO) it should have gone one of two ways. Either Michael Myers isn't in it AT ALL....not alive at least. Or it should have tied directly and deeply into Season of the Witch. Option 1: The film opens with Michael killing Karen like at the end of Kills. And instead of vanishing into the night...he crawls off to the sewer and dies from the wounds the mob gave him. He's dead but his legend is larger than ever. Corey accidentally kills the kid...becomes an outcast...and then gets bullied and beat up on the regular and finds Michael's mummified corpse in the sewer while hiding from his tormentors. Then he takes the mask and strikes back at the people who are making his life hell. Eventually crossing paths with Laurie who he ends dying in a confrontation with. She takes the body and puts him in the grinder with the mask on...killing Michael's legacy because the town would think it was the real Michael Myers while also nipping the Shape's next incarnation in the bud. It would also make Kills that little bit less silly because evil DID in fact die that night lol. Option 2: Opens with Michael killing Karen again, just like the end of Kills. Cut to Laurie and Allyson leaving the Haddonfield hospital when Michael appears to kill them to when Tom Atkins character from Season of the Witch rolls up in a truck like Kyle Reese and blasts Michael with a shotgun who then promptly gets back up. They have to go destroy Silver Shamrock like Skynet because it's sending the Kill signal to Michael's mask. Cue flashback scene to 1962. Young Michael Myers is at home. His parents worked at Silver Shamrock but are now trying to expose them. They have some of the mask chips, which Michael finds. The chip compels him to kill his sister. This original plan is abandoned by Silver Shamrock because it doesn't cause every child to kill...only the ones who are predisposed to kill already. Then in 1978, Michael returns to his old house to retrieve another chip for his new mask. Then you can get awesome scenes back in 2018 of Michael stalking Laurie, Allyson and Tom Atkins through the dark corridors of the Silver Shamrock factory...maybe Michael could even kill a few of those robot assassins from Season of the Witch. It could have been really rad! Lots of missed opportunities but I still don't hate Ends as is..

I know there are already a few other versions to the ending to Halloween Ends, including the survival of Michael Myers and not Laurie Strode, that being said, it doesn't matter whet ending happened in regards to Halloween Ends, and there even is a satisfying ending for most at this point, including what I have seen personally from the film, no matter what, wether Michael lives or dies physically, his darkness will forever reign over the town of Haddonfield, especially during Fall/Autumn and it will always be Michael's home, it's just too bad that so many innocent people lost their lives to this darkness that was always destined for this town 🎃🎃🎃🎃🔪🔪🔪🔪

I was extremely disappointed with Halloween ends, after what had gone before...becoming more powerful everytime he kills and then to see him like an old hobo in the sewer did not do it for me. Too much of the film focused on Cory and not Michael, i wanted the finale to be full of dread and atmosphere like the original and then for Laurie to say he is not the boogeyman...he is a man, undid all the mystery and myth of Michael as he no longer seemed the unstoppable superhuman juggernaut we love...a missed opportunity i thought.

That's all well and good that the Evil inside Michael Myers passes on to others by looking into his eyes and being around him but there is no indication of this since Halloween 1978, Loomis said: "I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale…emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the DEVIL'S eyes! I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... EVIL!" Oh Loomis didn't become evil then nor the rest of Smith's Grove Sanitarium? They had two movies before HW Ends to try and bring this idea of passing on the evil and they failed in my opinion. This Myers doesn't even act like the original, 78 Myers set people up then kills them, very smart and methodical. Halloween Ends the love story!

Mr. Narrator, the line, "Evil doesn't die..." is true. Nothing ever dies, as in concludes. Everything, even our thoughts, are energy. Energy and matter are one in the same. It never ends. It changes form, no matter what the end to the movie is. But on a more practical note, that theme is visited throughout the movie, when Laurie is confronted and told that the killings of the last two movies are because of Laurie's Boogeyman, that the events in the town this time around is because the town needed a new scapegoat since Michael Myers has gone. The theme gets revealed several times in Halloween Ends, how Evil will influence others and sometimes turn others evil. That is what I think is meant by "Evil Never Dies." It's also a callback to the lame chant in Halloween Kills(which is a stupid title, btw)

Corey is one of them. This would have hit a bit better if, like the novel, we had build up for him. Give the audience more info dump on who he is and give a reason why he is so susceptible to the evil would have made the movie flow a bit better. I still maintain that Michael should not have been in this movie. It should have been all Corey. Laurie shouldn’t have found out who was under the mask until the scene at the metal grinder at the end. She should have been under the impression that she had killed Michael, but when she casts his body into the grinder, the mask should have snagged on something and revealed Corey’s face to Laurie. That way it makes sense for her to believe that evil never truly days (the mask escaped the grinder), it just changes shape (because it wasn’t Michael under the mask.) The whole time she is doing that ending monologue, the camera would be a pov shot of someone walking to the metal grinder and putting on the mask, but no confirmation of who it is.
This would have still given Laurie her ending without screwing over Michael. It would fully establish Corey as the new Michael whilst showing his replacement at the end. Haddonfield always needs a man in a mask, even if it’s not Michael or Corey. Fans would be left wondering what happened to Michael after Kills and if this series ever gets a sequel following Jamie Lee’s exit from the series, they can just run it as Michael getting his mask back and going from there.
As it stands, Ends has a terrible ending that satisfies no one

I don’t think having both Michael and Corey die and the line “Evil doesn’t die, it changes shape” is a contradiction. There’s still evil out in the world that can manifest in different forms that doesn’t have anything to do with Michael. I’m also not a fan of Laurie being infected with evil at the end because that’s too literally supernatural for my tastes. Laurie has a pure heart so her becoming evil just because she looked into Michael’s eyes is going too far in my opinion. I’m fine with Corey turning evil because we aren’t sure if he was destined to be evil or if society made him that way, or if it’s a combination of both. I think that type of ambiguity ties in nicely with the original Halloween.
