Who should I react to next? And just for you: ‘Sing Better Instantly" my FREE Singing Course: skl.sh/3aHdSuy
Please react to Way Down Jeff Castellucci (it's awesome and he dances!) Or Tennessee Whiskey by Voice Play (absolutely gorgeous)
On thatbassvoice channel: Trio Version of Valhalla Calling with Mircle of Sound and Peyton Parish.
The Allman Brothers band is who you should check out next. They were incomparable. Whipping Post, live at the Fillmore is a masterpiece. Their version of Stormy Monday is the definitive that others strive to reach
I'd love to hear your reaction to Peter Hollins Hobbit Drinking Song ft : Hank Green :D
Oh miss... Ring of Fire, Home Free w/ Avi Kaplan.
Bring a change of clothes.
Home Free is a rabbit hole you need to go down. They do it all. Gospel, Opera, Country, Rock and all points in between.
This is a repost. She has done a fair number of Home Free Songs and a GREAT critique of Rob & Austin's cover of Nessun Dorma (Was great to have a Professional's insight, one who is receptive to Austin's crossover style).
I thought this was an Old Post I could have sworn she had reacted to them before and I was hope she knows now that Tim Foust is more than just a base that man is so freaking talented
@@amandahandlin1405 She does. honestly all of them are. All you have to do is see their individual projects and collaborations to realize they all often have to "reign it back" during group performances. It's rare in that setting for someone to get to go all in. You have to play your role.
For Veteran's Day, I was expecting their cover of "Brothers In Arms"
They loop during concerts. Adam Rupp drum solos are amazing
A blast from "baby Maggie"'s past. Your first Home Free! :)
Your wiggle dance at the beginning is the perfect and correct response to home free.
You owe it to yourself to hear them doing "When A Man Loves A Woman" and "Ring of Fire". Eargasms are a thing.
Tim Foust, making female youtube reactors show the world their "O" face for years. The man is a wonder of the world.
MORE HOME FREE!!!!! :)))))
Home Free - How Great Thou Art
Home Free - When A Man Loves A Woman! Austin Brown will slay you!
Finally someone mentioned how they look at the camera lol. With that on top of how good their voices are it had me shook the first time I watched it
Yep the version you know is from the George Clooney movie “Oh Brother Where Art Thou”! It’s hilarious! 😂♥️
If you have not already, HomeFree Mayday is amazing.
You have the most expressive eyebrows I've ever seen. But about the music, I enjoy your technical analysis as well as your sheer enthusiasm.
Each member has the ability to beatbox. Austin -standing in front has a musical theater background, hence the camera work!!
Ah the original Home Free reaction! How fun that was to watch! Now you know who everybody is very well. Love this vintage reaction so much. Great job!
Thanks so much! 💖
@@maggiereneemusic wipe your chin, you're drooling
Ah, I was confused at first. "Didn't she do this one a while back?"
@@Cybrludite Yeah, I thought so too?
@@Cybrludite yes…for some reason she is reposting/recycling her videos…this has been happening for a while now and I don’t like it… I keep bringing it up in comments but she’s ignoring me… I’ve been watching her for a few years now and mostly enjoy watching her freak out on good music, and I like to go back and watch older ones sometimes…I don’t like the passing of old content off as new..bad form.. I’m thinking of unsubscribing…
The one with the vest is Austin, the overalls is Rob, Tim is the bass. You may want to check out Rob and Austin doing Nessum Dorma. I was shocked.
I would love to have that deep voice . Cool AF
I showed up for the inevitable Tim-gasm and I wasn’t disappointed. Great reaction
The song is very old and is a traditional American folk song first published by Dick Burnett, a partially blind fiddler from Kentucky. The song was originally titled "Farewell Song" in a songbook by Burnett dated to around 1913. What is amazing about this version by Home Free | Man of Constant Sorrow is that it is acapella and the musical sounds of the drums, Jew's harp, mouth harp (harmonica) and beat box are all done by two singers in the band.
You need to watch Home Free ring of fire featuring Pentatonix former Avi Kaplan who is now a soloist. Home free added Avi for these double bass runs with both super low bass singers.
And I absolutely love that this first video makes you blush and giggle like a schoolgirl - I so feel the same way!
I think Austin gave many of us chills with this video. Lol.
OMG...your killing me! You remind me of my sister in law and her twin sister. Facial expressions are so them. You 3 would be hilarious together! 🤣
I’m mostly just shocked to realize you hadn’t listened to this before!
Pretty sure this is a repost, I have seen this review before.
Think it's a re-upload. Either that or we're all suffering a bad case of deja vu. Either that or we're all suffering a bad case of deja vu.
Lol, just saw in the description she said it’s a reupload, thought I had a Mandela Effect going on for a second…
Austin loves to flirt with the camera. 😂
Since you liked Austin's looking at the camera in this video, I know you'll love the group singing 'When a man loves a woman '. Lots of camera watching.
That was so cool to go back to the beginning of the Home Free journey.
Maggie: "That's too short!!!"
Me: "THats what she said!"
LOL Thank you for your lovely comment! Hope to see you on my Livestream tonight? 😆
There is no one else to take over beatboxing. The video is layered.
You already watched two of Home Free singing Opera…. So I was surprised that you didn’t recognize them in this.
The Soggy Bottom Boys have been resurrected - on steroids! That was just fun.
What a fun re-upload! This is the song that go so many of us hooked on Home Free.
The guy singing lead in your clip was Dan Tyminski (?)of the group Union Station. He was George Clooney's singing voice in the movie.
I was ready for the Maggie eyebrows before Tim's section 😂. I love these guys and love your reactions.
You should check out their cover of "Ring of Fire" featuring Avi Kaplan and also their cover of "Never Gonna Give You Up". They are a very good acapella group.🐊
I think she did ring of fire already.
@@johnkramer7161 She Reviewed this video 2 years ago this is a re upload
@@jacobconley8207I know. I wasn't talking about this video.
A little bit about the song itself. Mostly recognized from the George Clooney movie “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou” is actually a very old folk song. First recorded around 1915 to 1920, and then called “The Goodbye Song or The Farewell Song”. It is, truly a very sad song. Listen for the line “I am bound to ride that Northern Railroad, perhaps I’ll die upon this train”, and the song becomes clear. A slave is bidding farewell to every thing and everyone he loves before running for freedom.
Lead Tenor with the vest: Austin Brown (Special talent: yodelling)
Beardy Tenor man - Rob Lundquist (Special talent: whistling)
Beatboxer - Adam Rupp (he and his brother Chris originallly formed the band)
Baritone - Adam Chance (just call him, "Chance"; he's a bass in his own right)
Bass - Tim Faust (basso profundo). He has an AMAZING range, high or low, as you will see in his solo videos
Maggie - You are now officially a "Home Fry". Congratulations! They also have a fan from Dance, she's a "French Fry".
One of the best things about Home Free is their sense of humor. They do some really silly stuff While singing REALLY well! The Butts Medley, Full of Cheer, Champaign Taste on a Beer Budget, just to name a few. Avi visited for Ring of Fire...you get Avi and Tim and REALLY deep bass! Tim has actually blown speakers with his bass. You probably have heard their Sea Shanty which made itself onto TicTock.
Love from Africa, Kenya
I love your reaction to My favorite Group and am what they call a Home Fry
Since having a front row seat to a live show I can confirm: nomonica is real, and Home Free’s vocals sound better in person! Holy cheese muffins! I love my favorite band so much! They healed a deep wound in my soul. I am so grateful.
The man in the vest is Rob Lindquist (sp) and is classically trained. He hasn't sung classically for 15 years until recently when he and Austin Brown "Try to sing Opera". You might want to react to that if you haven't alreadu!
She reacted to it a month ago. I am surprised she didn't recognize Rob and Austin on this video.
You have to love Home Free! Love your reaction! 🐊
WOW, I thought I was losing my mind, as I remember when you first did this. But I had to check. I was like who was it Austin snet a message to after Unchained Melody????
Guess I've heard this one a million times!! It's the 1st one I heard from HF. I've been addicted since then!!
You also know Rob and Austin...they are the 2 country singers who "tried singing opera" Nessun Dorma
She has reacted to 8 or 9 Home Free songs so far. I am confused why she acted like this is the first time she heard this song. She covered it 2 years ago. Oh well.
That dude is also making the juice harp sound with his voice in addition to the harmonica...among other sounds.
And another Home Fry is born.
I am absolutely DYING to see your reaction to Austin and Rob's "Two Country Singers Try Opera". I'm certain you will be gobsmacked 😉
You noticed, simply amazing like you!
Thank you so much 😀
They were great to see in person a few weeks ago.....GREAT and FUN SHOW.
In my whole life I have never favored a single band or singer. But for almost two years I can't get away from these talented guys. I listened to the song a few times until I was sure - there is no harmonica :-) LOL Home Free - these are five extraordinary talents with the richest harmonies I've ever heard in a band. Great reaction, Maggie!
Still patiently waiting for Maggie Renee to do a collab with Austin! 🐊
Ahhh so sweet. Thank you for your lovely comment! Hope to see you on my Livestream tonight? 😆
They all do a bit of beatboxing but no one is as good as Adam Rupp
This was one of the very first videos of yours that I saw. You have such a telling expression in your reactions. 😂
Brilliant song, brilliant film, brilliant Maggie-Renee. What more would one want?
oh girl, you're about to fall into another AWESOME rabbit hole akin to the likes of Pentatonix and Voiceplay. Can't wait to see more!
You wouldn’t know it by my speaking voice, but I can go as low as Tim in this song. 🐊
your appreciation is brilliant....
Start and end the beatboxer (or Adam Chance) is recreating a didgeridoo. Amazing. then beatboxing a harmonica. Nobody better.
Don't hold back. I think you like them. 😂
When I see Women react to that man I wish I could sing, its awesome the bottom voice gets a speaking part.
The night you first fell in love. Excellent!
Home Free are sensationally seductive! Boy, the looks into the camera of the lead singer...phew. Not least their phenomenal voices and perfect harmonies. Xxxx
About Home Free
There are not many bands where 4 out of 5 can sing lead !!! But these guys do. The others have also learned a bit of beatboxing and have had small duels on stage between each other. Very special people with very special talents and very down to earth with a twinkle in the eye.
The five founding members were brothers Chris and Adam Rupp, Matt Atwood, Darren Scruggs, and Dan Lemke; taking their name from a boat owned by Atwood's grandfather who helped support the group financially in the early years
The group began in 2000 as a hobby for the singers, but they gradually gained in experience and popularity. By 2007 they had enough of a following to pursue music full-time. During this period, the Rupp brothers and Atwood formed the core of the group, with Atwood singing lead tenor. Other members of the group came and went.
They competed in an A capella TV competition "Sing Off" 4th season and won big !!! They won the TV competition the year after Pentatonix !!
Then Chris Rupp was also there instead of Chance. Adam and Chris started the group in high school. Chris is now making his own career and started another band called 7th Ave whit his sister Tristin Rupp (sister of Chris and Adam) and 2 others.
What ever you react to DON´T react to there song "Mayday" untill you know there banees and what you think they can do becouse it ruins the supprise!!
Here are the current members of Home Free:
Adam Rupp :beatboxer that’s leaving everyone in complete disbelief as to how he could imitate an entire sound system by only using his voice and is the best in the entire US and soon in the world as he continues to develop it. He started only because they needed one. He also has his own solos in the shows. It is only then that most people understand that it is his mouth sounds from drums, harmonica and lots of other things. He also has a clear tenor voice that is used a little now and then. Adams fellow band members affectionately referred to him as a “freak of nature.” because of how he transforms from a singer and vocal percussionist into a human musical instrument.
Born on April 23, 1982 Mankato, Minnesota. Graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2004 with a music performance degree in trumpet.
Tim Foust: is not only bass but instead read 1 Oct lower than other men as the lowest tones are vibrations but the total range of his voice is a full 5 octaves !!!!! That is, from the lowest base to the highest tenors. He has also collaborated with a guy named Peter Hollens in songs like Misty mounten and Sound of silence.
Born on July 19, 1981 from Lubbock,Texas but was raised in Nederland, a city in Jefferson County, Texas. In his early years, he attended Lamar University as a pre-dental major until the day he could no longer fight the music itch.
Recently, the Nederland native was also inducted into the Museum of the Gulf Coast Hall of Fame due to his influence, talent and vocal range. He joined the likes of Janis Joplin, Tracy Byrd.
First sang with them as a guest on their 2010 tour. A Texas native, Foust was then pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter of country music and had recently released a solo album, but was not ready to sign on full-time. Matthew Tuey sang with the group in the interim of 2011, until Foust joined them full-time in January 2012.
Rob Lungquist: lead tenor with Swedish descended who has an angel's voice with a beard like a lumberjack! His second talent is to whistle tunes! He can also beatbox a bit.
Born on June 2, 1983 and comes from Minnesota. He has a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
He joined Home Free after his graduating in 2008. He moved to Minneapolis, where he worked at the Guthrie Theater as a bartender, and he used to sing for a fellow Minnesota-based group called Four Shadow.
Austin Brown: High tenor with a unique voice that is finished with country stucco on. Absolutely incredible man.
Born 22 maj 1986 and comes from Tifton, Georgia. Attended Oklahoma City University, majoring in Music Theater.
In 2012, Austin was working on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship as a featured singer in their production shows. When Home Free joined the cruise as a guest performing group, they met and became close and he let Home Free know that he would be interested in joining the group if they ever had an opening. At the end of 2012 lead singer Matt Atwood retire and Home Free then invited Brown to join as lead tenor.
Adam Chance (called only Chance): baritone but also bass when Tim sings lead. We're just starting to understand his voice ability and wow what a voice. On March 18, 2016 it was announced that, after sixteen years performing with the group, co-founder Chris Rupp would be leaving to pursue a solo career. He would be replaced after May 8th by Adam Chance, formerly of Street Corner Symphony.
Born May 24, 1984 Chance is a native of Baldwin County, right across the bay from Mobile. He stayed in Baldwin County until his early 20s. His mom still lives there until today.
He is a former journalism and music student at the University of Alabama.
All five of Home Free's singers have formal musical training. Lundquist and the Rupp brothers all have bachelor's degrees in music. Adam Rupp's primary instrument is trumpet.
Home Free's styling as a country group is relatively recent. Before Tim Foust joined the group, Home Free was an all-purpose a cappella group, singing in a wide variety of styles, of which country was only a minor one. With the additions of Foust and Brown, the group moved more in the direction of country and found that audiences responded well to it. Home Free had auditioned three times for The Sing-Off (without Foust and Brown) and not been accepted. When auditioning for the fourth season, they made a conscious decision to style themselves as a country group. In an interview Brown said this identity is what grabbed the attention of The Sing-Off’s casting director, who said, “You guys really fit something we don’t have.”
This band can not even been describe properly so ignore what title they are under… for them they are the only one in their category in the whole world !!!! Home Free converts songs to country a capella everything from Avicii - Wake Me Up to Johnny Cash "Ring of fire" etc.
To understand what these are, you should check out their live recorded shows… because you do not understand them before there. Their own song videos are absolutely wonderful. You can laugh yourself to death and you can cry from recognizing heartbreaking ballads. They have released 14 records from the startof Home Free and Home Free's 2014 album “Full of Cheer” was released as “Full Of (Even More) Cheer” in November 2016 and debuted at number two on Top Country Albums with 13,000 sold, the band's best performance on the chart at the time. But the album "Timeless" came in 2nd place on the country Billebord list the first week !!!! Everyone placed high on Billebord country lists at the record release. Then you should know that the fans are significantly fewer than, for example, Blake Shelton or Kenny Rodgers.
Kenny and The Oak Ridge Boyes contacted them and have collaborated on several songs
Their shows are so much fun and you get involved when you go to their concerts. Be prepared for lots of laughter.
They do everything they can for their fans and the fans do everything they can to for the band. The fans are called “Home Fries” and there kid fans are called “Small Fries”.
There are many examples of how good and cordial it is between the fans and the band. The latest came up due to Hurricane Harvey. It hit where Tim Foust comes from and he has his family and friends there. They did not get much help. So Home Free started a “Youcaring” account where they deposited $ 20,000 and asked the fans to match… it took just under 4 hours and the fans asked them to raise the limit. They raised it to 100,000 dollars and of them we fans have reached this and find out via Facebook and pictures of how they where used.
They also made a song with pictures from the fans about this. Everything from that song goes directly to the collection. They work with people they know on the spot so they know that all the money that comes in goes straight there. They were surprised at how much the fans line up and helps with which they should not be at this point as we have proven that we help when it is most needed.
Another little story between the band and the fans happened during an outdoor show where they had to cancel after 3 songs due to thunder and rain storm. The fans gathered in a large pavilion to wait and see if they can play more. Then they see the band coming walking in thunder and rain up to them… stand on a camping table and say that they unfortunately can not continue the show but that they would occasionally sing an unplugged song that was incredible even before. This time it was accompanied by thunder and rain.
Hi Maggie. I hope you post your reaction to HF SAVE THE WORLD soon. Written by Austin about his lady performed with instruments by HF. This was so cute watching your first reaction to HF. What a blast you had. Well years later they are still the main act in my playlist. Till your next HF reaction.
Maggie, you must, Must, MUST see them perform live sometime. My wife and I saw them in Decatur, Illinois last May, in the rain, outside. Even with sitting in the rain, the show was fantastic.
Now for the Frog Leap cover. It's one of his best solo works.
They all can do basic beat boxing. When Adam learns something he passes it along.
Seriously, check out the Allman Brothers band. Greg Allman, the lead singer is 21 in this video, but he has the best blues voice. Period. His brother Duane was a guitar genius that sadly passed away shortly after that concert. Dickie Betts was the guy from that song Rock and Roll Hootchie koo, 'there was a group called the jokers, they were laying it down' that Rick Derringer was singing about. You will never regret hearing Stormy Monday, or Not My Cross to Bear, or Whipping Post
This was a very early reaction of yours that I watched. Fabulous performance and a wonderfully happy reaction and analysis. 🐊
You also need to watch Adam Rupp's (beatboxer)drum solo video.. He is amazing!!
You have GOT to react to their version of Boys to Men END OF THE ROAD. It's truly AMAZING
Hi Maggie! You must have seen this video before you saw the "Country Singers Try To Sing Opera", or I'm sure you would have gone O.M.G.!!! it's them! Rob's voice is night and day from his opera-trained voice. Loving your reactions.
I'm so glad you're re-uploading these Maggie - they're so much fun to watch. I have one teeny request - somewhere in the extended description would you pretty please put the date of your original video. Why, because then blonde on the inside folks like me know not to start a long-winded comment with stuff you already know and recommendations of stuff you've already seen. Thank you and love ya! 🙂❤
🐊 watching your reactions is like watching myself. ❤
Love you, Maggie!
Thank you for your lovely comment! Hope to see you on my Livestream tonight? 😆
They all help with the beat boxing. The last member seen in the video is Adam Chance and he is the one doing the juice harp at the beginning and end of the video.
11:38 - It was at this moment, she knew...her ovaries exploded!
Tim's range...five octaves (G0-A5). And Home Free teamed up with Avi on "Ring Of Fire"
You also need to see Rob & Austin take on "Nessun Dorma"...seriously, that'll shake you up!
Oh an old one. So good Maggie. Yeah we love them!
Amazed to realize you hadn't done these guys before. They have dozens of insanely good songs on UA-cam.
MAGGIE! Maggie! You have just become a Home Fry. You must check out some more of their work. With them, PTX and Voiceplay you can get a Bass-gasm. LOL
🐊 These cats make such wonderful sound. Dive deep into their discography.
Still an AMAZING Post, Maggie.
Thank you for your lovely comment! Hope to see you on my Livestream tonight? 😆
PLEASE! Remember we will watch if you are just "critic" a song even if you have listened to it a thousand times before. You are a trained singer and sometimes it is nice to hear what you think of some piece you like or dislike. Just note the differences.
yep Tim and Goeff from Voiceplay as you know, both of them have been about a long time, are friends and 2 of the well known best deep voice guys.
Wait, you haven't heard Home Free before today?!?!
Do "Ring of fire" and "Folsom prison blues".
Home Free does a great job with both of those.
Remember the country singers that sang Nessun Dorma (you reacted to it)? That is Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist from (ta-da) Home Free. Home Free covers a lot of country music, but as you heard from Austin and Rob's video, they can do most any genre of music. They are known for having fun with a lot of their songs. This song came from the movie "Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?" with George Clooney. Adam Chance (the baritone) is usually called "Chance" so people will know which "Adam". Adam Rupp is that great beat boxer (harmonica guy). Tim Faust (the bass) did "Misty Mountains" with Peter Hollens (I think you reacted to that--if I'm not remembering correctly, you ought to react to it--it's spectacular). Do more Home Free!!
So fun to see this again!
The original singer of that song is a bluegrass singer of Dr Ralph stanley and also Ralph stanley voice in the movie.
You need to check out Sea Shanty Medley by them!!! It was done during the lockdown!!!
Adam Chance, known to audiences as “Chance” is using a mouth/jaw harp in this song. That’s probably the extra sound you’re hearing. These guys are all college educated in music and some in musical theater so they know what they’re doing when it comes to videos. HF is marketed as Country but they can and do everything.
Your enjoyable to watch. Joy overload lol. You have actually reacted to home free a couple of times before this.
Another beat box rabbit hole to go into would be Show Go "Silver"
With Holidaze coming keep Oh Holy Night and Do You Hear What I Hear loaded. Incredible.
You should listen to Home Free's Ring of Fire featuring Avi.
She already has.. as well as this one.
I love to see you in the purple robe at the beginning of your video, all natural, no makeup you are so very beautiful inside and out,
For a little fun, and see a lot more of Adam Rupp’s harmonica, check Home Free’s cover of “Ain’t goin down till the sun comes up”, for their most powerful harmonies, and gut wrenching song, gather your tissues, and listen to “Brothers in Arms”. This one shows off Tim’s bass, and Chance’s solo voice. (Don’t stop at the black screen at the end, wait for the last two notes. They sound like a pipe organ.
I didn't notice anyone else suggesting their recent "Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera" on Austin Brown's channel. Rob Lundquest is the other singer (vest guy and coveralls guy).⬅
Another of their outstanding video's is last year's 50th anniversary cover of _American Pie._ It is a full collaboration with the original artist, Don Maclean. IMO it is a much more successful collab than Pentatonix had with Dolly Parton. (That was simply Dolly singing acapella with Pentatonix as good background singers.)🐊
