@@maggiereneemusic While I am still hoping for you to further explore more Pentatonix. I think that there are a few more songs by Home Free that you need to react to. I would start with 'Ring of Fire', since you love bass voices. It has bass overload, because besides Tim, Avi from PTX guest features. Next would be their version of 'Mayday' by Cam, Tim will even fuller blow your mind. Lastly, for a completely different side, Rob and Austin killing it on the Boyz II Men classic 'End of the Road'. I still give Pentatonix the slightest of edges thanks to Kirstin and Mitch, but Home Free is a very close second.

Fun Fact: Tim once hit a note so low he broke a speaker during a live show.
Once? Haha, try frequently!
When we saw them a couple years ago in Wilmington DE, plaster and dust fell from the ceiling when Tim hit some really low notes.
He probably hit the resonant frequency of the speaker. If you go too low for a speaker/woofer it just doesn't respond (and you won't blow it out).
@@DavidSmith-pg1ob There is a clip here on yt where he starts low and goes higher then hits the perfect note that kills the low end of the entire speaker system :D.

They do use a looper - in concert they use the looper to get all the sounds in. They use it also on their cover of "Castle on the Hill" (Ed Sheeran song). PLEASE react to their cover of "How Great thou Art" ....the harmonies will blow your mind. P.S. on Ring of Fire, Tim hits the G1 on the piano scale, at the end. I've been priviledged to see them twice live in concert, and when Tim hits those low notes he rattles the windows - you feel it in your shoes. They are truly a treasure of music !!!
Yes, Tim G1 end note on the studio version with Avi as guest. On the live TV show version, Tim does it as an F#1, but doesn't hold it as long.
My first introduction to them was on the show that show that also launched Pentatonix - Sing Off and then their video Home Free Derailed.Really nice seeing talent with humbleness and great sense of humour. Doubt I will seem them live but can certainly enjoy them on UA-cam.
@@michaelmanus7765 try to go see them, when they tour they are all over the USA. They are worth a drive or even a plane ride to see them in person. Their concerts are GREAT they are funny and you're garanteed a good time. I've seen them twice and it was well worth it. They are that way at the meet & greet too....take everyone's questions, and were nice to talk to one on one - but probably no more handshakes though with the "new normal"

He uses a looper for the beatboxing when they do this live.
The looper is only used for Chances Jew Harp , in the live shows Austin joins Adam and they both do the harmonica
@@mettesrensen6116: The looper is used for a part of beatboxing, and for the repeated sounds Austin and Rob do, too.
@@mettesrensen6116 This is a newer arrangement if that's the case. When they were first performing this song live, they needed the looper for more than that, because Austin was NOT doing harmonica at the time. But no complaints from me. I love it when they can find ways to make it work with even less gadgets.
I have not seen them live and don’t really like the youtube live videos, so what I am curious of; do they announce in the live shows that they are using the looping or is it just obvious?

You should definitely take a look at Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. It really highlights his deep voice and is an amazing vocal rendition I think you'd absolutely love.
Another great one for a deep bass voice being highlighted is Oggie Boogie's Song by VoicePlay. Geoff Castellucci has an amazing voice and is almost the reverse range of what Dimash has.

This version shows off a huge amount of country sounds, and harmonies. I am taken back with how Home Free uses the similar but different tonality of their voices. They do so many things that are only in country music. Tight just plan tight.

@@maggiereneemusic Yes I did, very much so, these groups are keeping acapella alive...I found Pentatonix before Home Free, both similar in quality, one mainstream/traditional, the other leaning toward country, and now we have ViocePlay. YES. Home Free is the "other" group that is rewriting the book on a capella worldwide. For Home Free may I recommend their "Will The Circle be Unbroken" (Johnny Cash version), and my favorite, "Helplessly Hoping" (Crosby, Stills & Nash) (and then a quarantined Italian Youth Choir's cover of Home Free's arrangement) and all the rest of the suggestions. They are all great.

Austin is an amazing tenor. He's been trained in musical theater. Check out his solo "Bring Him Home" from the musical Los Miserables. It's beautiful. 💖

@@maggiereneemusic Geoff Castellucci is the bass for Voiceplay. He just released a cover of the Beatles song Black Bird that shows his vocal range. He also does readings of The Night Before Christmas, The Raven, and The Tell-Tale Heart. The last two, by Edgar Allen Poe, may cause you to sleep a few nights with your eyes open.

I believe someone posted that Tim's range is A0 to A5? But he may have outgrown that again ;)
In some of there other videos he hits G1 and e1
He does go down to A0 in Home Free's cover of Sold, and but demonstrates a G0 as an intro into Your Man.... oh and that G0... it's done LIVE!

They’ve said in some live shows Adam (beat boxer) will use a looper on some songs if one of the other guys cant duplicate the sound while he’s doing another part. Like the live version of this song Austin (first one singing) assists with the harmonica sounds.
